Rant About: XP Battles

I wanted to start this page to voice MY opinions on "XP". If you are an "XP" fanatic please don't take offense to any of this, and dislike this post at your hearts content.  

 

People say that "XP" is "a game of skill, that only the best of the best can play", I would describe myself as a pretty mediocre "XP" player and yet i fail to see any of this. In MY eyes "XP" is about luck and nothing else. What I mean by this is all you do is shoot in the vague direction of the target and auto aim does the rest, yes you have to guide your shots in small spaces but theres not much to it.

 

I see a lot of people, many brigadiers who  had just got the recently removed light kit, asking for 1v1's etc. The fact of the matter is a XP 1v1 is no real test of skill, it's just who can get lucky with supplies drops and/or the AA system. I say it's about luck because sometimes AA will hit the target dead on, and sometimes it flies a mile off. Don't say " well duh, you have to aim your shots, noob" because i'm talking about the fact no matter how well you aim its all in the hands of auto aim. 

 

All i'm trying to say that is I don't understand why XP is such a huge part of the game, it's like playing roulette with the aiming system :/ and yes you get people who are "specially gifted" with "amazing" "XP" skills but if you put them in any other tank they would be second to useless. 

 

A good player should not be classed on whether he/she is good with one random combination of weapons. Imagine if mammoth and ricochet was like rail and hornet. thats how non XP players (myself anyway) look at XP.

There is no horizontal Auto Aim, every millimeter of movement is the difference between a hit and a miss. AA only applies vertically to Railgun.

Lol, if you take a 50% paint with mammoth M3 against mostly M2 railguns, then what do you expect? 1 shots?

Yes, but AA is unreliable, trust me I have tested this stuff out on duel with friends and auto aim is just pathetic.

It isn't pathetic. It is just that auto aim is the worst for railgun. You can't shoot up or down without moving the tank itself. Try doing that, it will work. This is the only reason rail is considered one of the hardest gun to master.

Yep exactly what i was expecting "no idea how to play!" Don't call me bad without ever seeing me play,being judgmental.

It isn't pathetic. It is just that auto aim is the worst for railgun. You can't shoot up or down without moving the tank itself. Try doing that, it will work. This is the only reason rail is considered one of the hardest gun to master.

Oh and something I missed out, railguns variable damage. It doesn't matter where you shoot the enemy tank sometimes your rail will do full damage, and sometimes just a low roll, what I hate is it doesn't matter where you shoot another tank AA's brother just decides how much damage it will do. There is no skill involved in how much damage your rail will do, it's luck,  PURE LUCK.

Thats why I play without drops. And you need skill to win, you need skill everywhere, without it you won't win a single battle. Xp is not only about skill, but its a type of mode where players respect others players, such as when there are 3 players the other team will stop, because they respect the other team,they want to play fair, win or lose, Its a battle for skilled and intelligent tankers, not just for some random noobs who have the best kits and a thousand drugs to spend. In normal battles there is barely any skill, they just drug, even with the new drug system you can see rails using DP, that's not skill,

XP is for players who respect other players. Players who can't see this and ruin battles are mults and noobs, if you don't like the mode, simply don't enter it. But if you do, you should follow the rules and respect your opponents, or else be kicked. This is a known fact and also a mixture of my opinions, you may not agree with it, but i am sure some Xp lovers do. Thank you.

I agree on the most part, However it's little things that annoy me PRO "XP" battles, like wasting 500 cry to get in and the other guy see's your a higher rank and leaves, or if you spawn trap someone they switch to prodigi, or when you flip over no one kills you, they just drive away and cap flags. 

 

Also, if you post screenshots of XP violators in the forum section, nothing is done.

Exactly, it makes perfect sense. By not killing the flipped enemy tank, you are able to buy your team more time to steal a flag while they enemy team is short one player for a small period of time. Ingenious idea.  ;)

If rail is that easy, then, take M3 wasp and shoot a target very far away, while moving. We will see how good you are. (This is for canadurules, don't get offended AR12GAMING :))

yes what I hate is that its a cheap tactic. Not exactly a test of skill :/ 

People can only get kicked out if a spectator joins.

xp should get no special consideration if I wish to make a battle named thunders only, twins only or smokey only then that should be honoured too and the new rules should also cover any single gun battles not just rails

The only reason most of the railgun masters (and no, I am totally not saying I am pro with rail, infact I suck with it) get respected is because railgun is a pretty hard gun to master, mainly because of having very low gun depression and elevation, also know as auto aim advantage compared to other turrets, Look at isida, you can practically aim at someone above you on a platform IF you have a clear view of their turret.
