Test the Predictable Drops system!

FEEDBACK:

1. 1 cry box is not actually worth it as why would people want to go after 1 crystal box and they rarely drop so no point adding them

2. most cry boxes, well as you have added tons of cry boxes which vary from 10 to 100, I spent over 4-5 hours in test server, and they all camp for the boxes and only some are playing, you should reduce the rate of higher cry boxes as tons of campers.

3. gold box, seriously takes over 2 min to drop, our drugs are expiring by the time it has dropped as we have equipped them atleast 3 times.

I had a few questions and some suggestions for this update.

 

Q.: More maps are going to be updated?

S.: In some maps are additional houses added, but to avoid that the gameplay would be ruined by the 'flag-camping-parkourists' a self destruct zone is added; so the suggestion is: can't these selfdestruct areas be removed in the mode(s) DM (and TDM). By this way we, parkourists, have something new to conquer :)

 

S.: Noticed in Deathtrack a drop sign in in the air, I don't know if it's there due accident or on purpose.

S.: The gold box seems to drop later as usual, but why? These days we do not have signs and it's just with not such a long time too.. I don't think it's really needed to slow down the droptime of the gold box, once one tanker found this place the others will come soon.

 

Q + S.: I saw the map Cologne in the preview of tomorrow's V-LOG, are the buildings again self destruct zone? I should love to don't add self destruct areas on the houses..

The Gold Box Drop Zone is good visible. I love it. Great to have the real gold rush back.

 

However, I feel like the time gap between the alert and the drop is just a bit too much now. It was better when it was under a minute.

 

EDIT: The reason I think this is that the time-frame currently allows for players to easily change to Mammoth in time to respawn and also look for the drop point. This reduces the dynamism of the gold box rush IMHO.

Yes, that time lap is a bad idea. Players with a large garage have the time to search the drop point, and see what is the best Hull to get Gold.

Basically I have the same opinions as everyone else.

The gold box takes too long to drop.

I don't like that after you catch a box, any box, the symbol stays there and I think another box is dropping.

Also when the symbol of type of box that is going to drop, the box takes too long to drop, so there is no point for the symbol on the ground to appear a minute before the actual box drops.

Appearance of drop zone indicators

  • Are you comfortable with the distance from which a drop zone becomes visible? Should drop zones be visible from further away, or closer? Or is the distance suitable?

It should be from closer because right now everyone sees the drop zone you should have to learn it a little...

  • How easy or hard is it for you to notice drop zones? Are they visible enough? Are they a distraction?

not really a distraction but once the drop is down i don't think they should be shown

  • What are your thoughts on making the gold box drop zone visible?

make it only visible 30 seconds before

 

Appearance of boxes

  • Is it clear enough how many crystals are in the box?

yes

  • What’s the most common value of crystal boxes in your experience?

20

 

Frequency of drop boxes

  • Do you feel like the number of boxes dropped in battles is different compared to the main servers?

yea it seemed like there were alot more

  • Did you mine the drop zones?

hehe yea

  • Did you fight other tankers for the boxes?

no it is the test server so they ignored boxes except i didn't :D

I just tested it, here are my auggestions:

- Drops zones should be seen from a larger distance.

- They aren't a distraction, and they are clear and visible.

- At first, I thought that making the gold drop visible would be stupid. But it makes ir more fun! I already caught a gold, it makes it awesome, because now gold takes like 2 mins to drop.

 

- The number in the crystal boxes is clear. However, I think the 100 box shall have a special color.

- 20 boxes, followed by 50.

 

- Yes, yes and yes. It's very different from main servers, it's more regular.

 

I think it will be a great update. But you should increase gold box chances, they are waay too low.

Great update, Love it! :) The five-cry boxes are too hard to see though....

Also, I was picturing more like a system where the drop section would only appear like 10-30 secs before the box drops (Not for golds or cry boxes, I like them how they are) And I think this would improve gameplay but as you say, you're kind of making it more skill-full by making the drops a distraction, so the predictable drop zones are more of a map then an indicator, I like that aspect. Overall, it's a great update, with a little edit of the "5" font for the crystal boxes, I will gladly play with this in the game. :)

My feedback:

 

Pros:

  • Easy to tell where each box will drop, allowing tactics to be used easier.
  • Gold box notification marker is useful.
  • The new crystal boxes are nice. Not a fan of the 1 crystal boxes, but the ones 20 and up are great.

Cons:

  • There's too much of a wait period between the gold box notification and when the gold box falls. Heavy tanks have too much of an advantage here; I'd suggest shortening it. Make it less obvious too.
  • The drop zone markers are useful in combat, but they might be too visible. In some cases, they look like graffiti. They can detract from the look of the map.

crystal boxes are droping slow and rare. i would suggest that the crystal box value should varies from 10-25 per box in that case there will be more crystal drops and there wont be any mult looking for 100 crystal box in a game.
