Tankers!

Today we are testing the mechanics of predictable drop boxes. This update is the final piece of the puzzle, completing the idea of the new supplies model, where success depends on how smart and skilled you are. You can join the testing here or here, but before you go, check out some information below.

What’s new on the test server:

  • Now you will know where each box is going to land. Drop locations are a tactical element of the game. Combine boxes and garage supplies to keep all power-ups activated!
  • Crystal box mechanics are different too. The bigger the increase in the fund since the last crystal box drop, the bigger the number of crystals in the next drop. A box can contain up to 100 crystals.
  • Gold boxes have their own drop zones which are normally invisible. Now, these zones will become highlighted right after the gold notification. If you’re close enough, you’ll be able to see the symbol on the ground.

IMPORTANT: The testing can stop at any moment as we are testing the stability of the built.

There are about 20 maps on the test servers. For now, these are the only maps where drop zones will be visible. Of course, this feature will be added to all the remaining maps.

To make the feature as close to perfection as possible, we need to have your feedback on the following questions:

Appearance of drop zone indicators

  • Are you comfortable with the distance from which a drop zone becomes visible? Should drop zones be visible from further away, or closer? Or is the distance suitable?
  • How easy or hard is it for you to notice drop zones? Are they visible enough? Are they a distraction?
  • What are your thoughts on making the gold box drop zone visible?

Appearance of boxes

  • Is it clear enough how many crystals are in the box?
  • What’s the most common value of crystal boxes in your experience?

Frequency of drop boxes

  • Do you feel like the number of boxes dropped in battles is different compared to the main servers?
  • Did you mine the drop zones?
  • Did you fight other tankers for the boxes?

Skill is when you have enough experience to know where the drops drop. Youre taking away skills while trying to do the opposite

This is not that kind of skill you need around.

You either know or you do not know where the drop zone is. You can learn it, but learning is not the skill, it is HOW you use that knowledge should be considered as skill.

Besides, doesn't it make less fun to play on new maps? You should learn where the drop is before you can adequately fight. Seeing where the drop is you can learn and use that knowledge faster. In this case we are removing skill of knowing where and what is being droped, but allowing more people to get into skill of using the drop.

Makes sense to me.

We are initially planned Smart Cooldowns and Predictable Drops to be complementary. Your experience on test server is a good news to us.

Well does gold drop only in the small space? Some mammoth could just stand there and get as many golds as he wants. Please at least make crystal drop zones wider.

Also the idea of making crystal boxes more valuable to make it less of a distraction seems kinda dumb. Players will now look more at the value of the box and will fight more for them.
