I personally like Cologne better, but I think each map has its strong points, and I also think the people that prefer Edinburgh should still be able to play in it; keeping both won't hurt the people that like the other, will it? I always find it annoying when something I wanted to keep is unnecessarily removed—like the Brazil paint and Vote For Developers paint. I thought those looked cool, they didn't provide any unfair advantage, and I paid for them with my crystals. Why can't I keep them?

Since you devs are hopefully going to be reading the comments, I'd like to make a suggestion about the self-destruct penalty:
I understand that the penalty is designed to prevent people from self-destructing to deprive their attacker of a kill. I think this is a helpful improvement, but I think it makes the cost of self-destructing too high when for when people need to use it properly. For example, I might accidentally flip over in some part of the map where people do not often go. I want to self-destruct so I can get back into the battle, but I don't because of the penalty. I wait for a long time, hoping someone will come and destroy me, but no one finds me so I finally self-destruct and incur the penalty.
Additionally, players will sometimes exploit the self-destruct penalty: they see an enemy that is upside-down and deliberately do NOT destroy them so that, instead of re-spawning, they will remain upside-down, unable to fight, for a longer period of time.

 

I have a suggestion to fix this problem: program the game so that if a player's health bar is more than halfway full when he or she self-destructs, there is no penalty given to the player. But if the player has less than half of his or her health remaining when he or she self-destructs, the player is given a penalty.

First of all, this message is off-topic and all ideas and suggestions must go in this section.

As for your idea, there are a few issues with it. The first is the fact that the self-destruct penalty isn't that bad and it's better to self-destruct and get back into the battle as soon as possible and get points, rather than greedily conserve your points and wait to be killed. Also, you mentioned players, who "exploit" the penalty. Well, they don't do it to reduce your personal score, but they (at least the more experienced ones) don't kill you so that you can't participate in the battle for 10 extra seconds, giving the other team a small advantage. This only applies for CTF and CP battles.

The idea itself actually makes sense, though. Unfortunately I doubt that it will ever be implemented, but, as mentioned above, you should post it in the ideas and suggestions section for it to really be noticed.

but what about rail duel battles?? if by mistake the player flips they should suffer the consequence of losing on time and kill death ratio? sometimes they might be shot once but this shot is quite not enough to bring them below the half level so then they are lucky to not lose a kill because of that shot

I chose Cologne because its a very simple, yet tactical map which i can easily maneuver and still hide from enemies. Edinburgh is more of a "straight on" map meaning that you can get lost or stuck VERY easily as it happened to me numerous time especially with flag (not a noob mistake). COLOGNE ALL THE WAY!! :D

Why does Tanki remove all good maps like abyss and moon silence. Have a poll and bring those maps BACK

Abyss still exists - it was changes to remove "unfair" hiding spots and renamed to "Skyscrapers"

I wish they cut the tower of abyss into 2 pieces keep only 1 piece remove the other half (a half tower)

 

Bring that map back pplz I had my first clan war there when me was warrant 3 (on other account ofc )

Even though the vote will be going to Cologne, I hardly see any of them made (when I do, the battle is empty as one person is waiting for more players to join :()

So very true...

However, the vote was not for the most popular map, but for the most preferable between these two.

So, a positive vote doesn't mean that one has top priority for this, but it means that when one of these is played it would be the voted one...

 

(Personally, I love Serpuhov, kolhoz, desert, tribute, bridges, and then come Fort Nox, Cologne, and a couple other maps. That means I almost never get to play a Cologne...)

I like both. Edinburg is great for people using close range weapons, and you often see massive Firebird/Freeze kill-fests in the lower section, which are fun to partake in. Cologne is more balanced, since you can use ranged weapons in the streets and close range weapons within the castle.
