P.S. I think the should remove maps that aren't very popular such as Chernobyl, Molotov, Bridges, Duality, Forest, Gubakha, Magistal, Siege, Tribute, Subway, and Valley.

With the poll in the "Developer's News" section of the forum asking about whether we should keep Edinburgh and the new map Cologne (or both), I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to voice an idea that I've been sitting on for a while now.  Here is my idea:

 

I propose to to bring back the map "Abyss" and have it replace the map "Skyscrapers."  I realize that these maps are generally the same, but there are so many small changes that it is a completely different place.  Some people think that it's a good thing that now you can get back to the top of the map even if you fall down into the lower sections, but I always thought that it was better when it was a "one way trip."  This made you more aware of your surroundings.  

 

I also felt that, quite honestly, this map separated the great players from the merely good ones.  If you knew the map like the back of your hand and had a very good understanding of your tank, you would always come out on top.  It was more about skill rather than luck.  I also remember that in test servers (where I got my first look at this map), it used to be that almost half of the CTF matches were on Abyss.  Now, I'm lucky if I see one Skyscrapers CTF.  It's a similar story in the normal servers; almost no one plays on Skyscrapers anymore. I believe that this is an indication that many players preferred Abyss to Skyscrapers.

 

I've started this poll to get an idea of what people think of this idea and how willing they would be to support it. If no one likes the idea, then we should leave it as is, but if lots of people support it, I'm hoping that we can influence the developers of Tanki to consider bringing back Abyss. I've also posted this idea in the "Ideas and Suggestions" section of the forum.

 

Please let me know your thoughts on this matter.  I'd be interested to hear why you like or dislike Skyscrapers vs Abyss.
