I wish that the drop signs disappear when it isn't dropping, only when it is going to drop, it shows.

Don't like the new update to many people fighting for a crystal box.

 

A few games today I have been blocked by my own team mate when i have been trying to get the flag back, the reason there is 100 crystals. Think it should go back to 10. Also finding that only half a team seems to be playing while the other half collects boxes.

 

Many games I have been in and won today I get less crystals over all then the campers.

crystal trolls  gone though the roof they dont help get flags or get cp points just run for cystals >.< 4 players in my last battle only trolled

In theory its sounds like a good idea but in practice..... Why wasnt it picked up in test, why  because in test you can have as many crystals as you want. so gold and 100 mean nothing

I like the new drop zones.All except the goldbox dropzone.Its gonna be harsh in getting them cuz everyone knows where they drop.But good work tanki.Looking forward to the pro battle drugging update.

If the new predictable drops were to remove distractions and more the gameplay more tactically challenging, I don't think they succeeded. In fact, I think it's a disaster. Maybe the excitement will die off, but I personally saw players on the same team (in a Serpuhov CTF) shoving and pushing each other to get a 20 or 50 crystal box, while behind them their flag was being carried off! Don't even make me start when a 100 cry box falls—it's like a gold rush! You have Dictators, Titans, and Mammoths camping behind buildings, doing nothing at all, until the box falls, then they creep out, fully drugged, to get 100 cry. Everyone is milling about near the marks, forsaking the game—after all, for many players, getting a couple of the new cry boxes will be more than their share of the battle fund. 

 

Sure, maybe you'll say this update isn't for noobs, but for "pro" players. But even "pro" players go crazy for 100 cry. I think this update is making Tanki a mess, and I hope you'll reconsider it. (Maybe removing the 100 cry box?)

Supply drop zones are now marked with special symbols

 

Now you’ll know exactly which supply is about to drop and where. Also, drop boxes will no longer disappear. They will stay in place until picked up, and then get replaced with new ones shortly after that.

 

All of this makes supply boxes an even more important element of the game. Tactically combining drop boxes and garage supplies, will give you a significant advantage and allow you to fight in the arena with all your supplies activated.

 

Crystal box mechanics improved

 

A growing battle fund now causes boxes to contain more crystals, rather than drop more often. A box can now contain 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 or 100 crystals. The bigger the increase in the fund since the last crystal box drop, the bigger the number of crystals in the next drop. As a result, crystal boxes for high ranks will be less frequent, but contain more. This will make them more of a benefit and less of a distraction. Crystal boxes will also remain in place until collected. This means that you'll be collecting more crystals overall.

 

Gold boxes — You’ll know where they’re going to drop… but not when

 

Gold box drop zones are normally invisible. With this update, whenever a gold box is about to be dropped, its drop zone will become highlighted right after the gold notification. If you’re close enough, you’ll be able to see the symbol on the ground.

 

Of course, we didn’t want to take the fun out of gold box hunting. So from now on, the time between the gold notification and the actual drop will be random, between 30 and 90 seconds.

 

What to do when you spot the mark? Start fighting for control over the area? Wait for your opponents to fight each other and then be the only one alive at the zone for the gold? There are numerous options, it’s up to you! It’s definitely going to be a different experience every time and you’ll need to be smart and think on your feet!

 

 

The new mechanics have been implemented on all the existing maps. By the way, you may have noticed updated Sandbox and Stadium on the test server. Well, they are in the game too now!

 

This update is the final piece of the puzzle, making drop boxes a crucial element in your tactics. Now, your skill and strategy are more important than ever!

This could be the worst possible update in my opinion. People have become more and more distracted by these occassional boxes and no one is playing the game for winning. They are playing just for boxes. I hate this. Really really bad update. Bad on the part of tanki administration. Also, after the update, the sandbox thing is having a crash bug for many. There is too much of lag for many - also noticed in cologne

Tanki Developers, do one thing,

 

Make the 100 Crystal Box a "Bronze Box",

Make another drop named "Silver Box" which will be worth 500 Crystals and will have a predictable drop zone and it's chances will be 1/3500, half of gold box.

Great for new players to speed up the learning curve, perhaps, but predictable drop markers seem goofy for experienced players.

 

Part of the fun is learning where the drops take place, and getting the timing right. Predictabiity takes all the fun out of it.

 

Another thumbs down update, especially when much more useful enhancements (improved targeting with turrets) could be developed instead.

 

Btw, love the snapshot images shown a bit earlier in the thread.  Now THAT was predictable. A bunch of idiots (excuse me, I mean players) either camping at drop locations knowing the exact timing of the next drop, or fighting for drops rather than paying attention to the overall game.

 

In summary...THIS UPDATE IS A FREAKIN DISASTER. Get rid of it.

I don't really like the Crystal boxes now because my team was doing nothing but sitting around waiting for the 100 and 50 Crystal boxes

Predictable drops for gold boxes gives an advantage to the slow, large hulls which can survive the crowd of pushing and shooting players waiting for the gold box to drop.

 

Light, fast hulls will be at a severe disadvantage.

 

As a wasp driver, I will probably avoid gold box drops in the future as it is unlikely I will ever get one.

 

I approve of all the other changes to supply drops.
