Balance teams?

Often I join a battle and the teams are even numbered.... and then a few minutes later, half of one team either quits or times out.  Can't swap teams without loosing current status (quit and rejoin), and folks are heasitant to join a lopsided battle (well, some of us are suckers for punishment).

 

Or, the teams become super unbalanced skill/upgrades wise even with equal number of players, and you end up with scores like 90 to 3 in CTF.

 

Can team games have the option to numerically balance or randomly shuffle the teams between each battle (ie, after time/frag/cap limit is hit).  Maybe a nice checkbox - checked by default, clan games can turn it off when the battle is created - on the "create game" interface...

I am willing to support this, if it is going to be implemented properly. And I think that scores should possibly carry over to both sides to persuade other players to help the losing them. As well as a random shuffle and even distribution after each match has ended so you don't have 10 vs 2 at the very start of a match.

Did some more thinking and either just get a list of all players and shuffle it and then just go down the list red team blue team red team blue, or get the list and sort by points scored in last round and then distribute in same fashion.  So either a random shuffle, or shuffled by a (hopefully decent) indicator of skill/power.

 

So on the create screen, check box to "balance teams between rounds" and if that is selected then a radio option of random shuffle or sorted by kills/score

I really like this idea, balancing the teams betweens rounds makes sense to me. It should reduce those mass disappearances when the losing team doesn't fancy battling again in an uneven match. It should make for longer and more interesting battles. Tankers would spend less time trying to get back into an even match.

 

Balance by equipment levels, rank levels or previous performance.

 

Also, making the crystal rewards more balanced in favour of the losing team keeps warriors in the battle.

Lets say you are playing a well balanced battle, than the round ends and half of your team leaves and the new battle is kinda ruined, you have to leave and find a new one or die way too much... I have an idea for simple solution - when the round ends, the game would send you a question - would you like to stay in this battle? If you click No, the game would send you to battles menu. Then the game would count the number of those who clicked YES, and placed half of them on the red, and half of them on the blue team.

Interesting, but the idea of auto-re-balance has been suggested before.

 

Also, quick question--what if the number of people clicking "Yes" is uneven? Does that mean the losing team gets 1 more than the other team?

The current system is pretty good right now. It would be hard to create a balance system where same m2s etc are there. After all, even generalissimos have m0s and m1s. The current system IMO is ok.

hopefully,NO.What if in one team plays 10 friends?Should the system shuffle 'em in 2 teams?What's the point to play against friends in battle?I never do that,NEVER.And many high ranked player's don't
