Gold is all about luck now. This is not fun. They are doing this because they think it will give fair chances to everyone, but it's wrong. Only luck for Gold now.

Thank you so much for this update, Tanki! It's a great idea. A lot of "noobs" keep joining battles and going for the crystal boxes, not helping the team in any way possible. Now everyone has to help and stay until the end of the battle to get something.  ^_^

Thats better ! because when crystal boxes fall specialy the 100cry boxes every one goes for the box instead of flag I mean player have been more focusing on crystals rather then battle. :P

The new 100-Crystal Drops are AWESOME, especially in Death Matches, where tanks literally fight to the death!!!

That was the MOST FUN I have had on Tanki in a LONG time!!! A blast!

 

Crystal Drops are great fun! 

 

Battle funds can be tedious, and some battles are several hours long.

Imagine playing for TWO HOURS with NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT??? (Computer flicker, or some of us have other lives outside of tanki...). Yes, we can choose our battles, but sometimes our favorite map & battle type is only available in a long battle. At least the crystal drops bring a little reward if we have a life in the real world.

ADD BACK THE GEM BOXES! I [personally] used them as "bait" (my main weapon is a shaft) and when I needed a few more gems for an upgrade, I switched over into a hornet (from my mammoth) but I would also advise to remove the increasing number of gems-per-gem-increase in the boxes, as that is majorly dictated by the number of players in the game. I also believe that the supply drop sites should drop all the different drops, not all over the map of course, but everywhere they did before.

This is very great i used to be carrying flag and a person (aka noob) would cut me off to go get a cry box and i would die. This will help with teamwork and chat. like my friends also used to tell me "let me get the cry boxes" or "can i get all the cry boxes this game plz. :)

I don't like the crystal drops disappearing because if you have a emergency and have to get off you gain no crystals at all just dust and rank up will come and go fast and get slaughtered in games with a high rank  because the crystals that you can get when dropped is gone and the people with M3 accounts like my self will show no mercy for noobs or people with weaker weapons and will drug like mad and slaughter them like nothing because that what the high competition is when you get a rank where you have tons to all M3 so you guys should NOT remove the crystal boxes that are dropped and not being a person that is greedy but with my experience with this game and high ranks I know that for a fact that they will not show any concideration and I know that the probability of this game loosing a lot of players is great if it happens so DON'T not for me for all of the tanki players new and growing to a higher rank remove the crystal drops

I approve of the new gold box "instant drop" system.

 

Before, bigger tanks would camp out on a drop zone and push smaller hulls away.

 

Now, everyone has an equal chance at a gold box.

I don´t like this! I like the old way , letter appear and aprox. 40 seconds gold fall.
And 100 50 20 10 5 1 crystals boxes mode it's great.

Collecting crystal boxes has been a part of Tanki Online from its earliest stages. However, it didn’t affect gameplay that much – boxes contained a modest number of crystals and collecting them wasn’t worth the time and effort. Plus, they would disappear over time. When developing the new drop box logics, we modeled crystal drops after supply boxes, without assuming that it would escalate the situation. The open testing didn’t unravel this problem either, as each account there had more than enough crystals so there was no reason to collect crystal drops. On release day, we thought that the complaints of tankers were caused due to doubled battle funds, which result in a larger number of crystals in drops.

 

However, we’ve recently changed our attitude towards feedback. We’ve started assessing and analyzing constructive feedback in the forum, counting positive and negative replies, and monitoring battle chats. This has helped us identify where the real problem lies. And we thank you for that!

 

That is why, as of today we’ve removed crystal boxes from the game as an experiment. Crystals that would have dropped in boxes, will instead be added to the battle fund as many of you suggested. Gold boxes are dropped right after the notification, so as not to distract players from teamplay, and give everybody a shot at catching the gold. The experiment will be on until next week. We will then specify our next steps.

Stop saying this is equal. Take Silence for example. A player protect the flag with Mammoth. Then stupid text saying Gold had been dropped. How many chances for this Mammoth? 0.

 

Before, bigger tanks camped, so what? I saw a lot of Hornets/Waps get Gold in Polygon DM. Even WO5. Bird_GT was a captain too, and I saw him take 2 Golds in a DM full of Generalissimos.
