Now the winning team gets all the crystal boxes, and the mammoth defender can't get the gold box

I think you should change it to be like the higher your rank, the more crystals you get from the box. For example, 2 people get the same box. the first player is a generalissimo and gets 100 crystals from it. The other person, a recruit gets the same box but only gets 3 crystals. Gold should be displayed 30-90 seconds before it comes, and please don't show where it'll drop cuz it kinda ruines the fun

Removing the crystal drop boxes is a very good move Tanki - shows you can respond quickly to user feedback.

I would like no crystal boxes to be a permanent fix.

I played one game today and all is good again.

 

I wrote the following section before you made this change:

"The new 100 boxes have caused a change in play in CTF.

Some tankers are no longer trying to help capture the flag - instead they are camping on the blue drop zones.  Go and look at the beach in Rio.

This has made many games very one sided - either win too easily or lose by too much.

To help identify the problem - could we have the stats at the end of each game show the number of crystals caught and maybe the number of gold boxes caught.

I think we will find that some players earn more from catching boxes than playing the game and this is not good for the game."

 

The bigger problem is why many CTF matches are one sided.  The most fun is when matches are close.

Because the losing side can fight hard and yet get very few crystals it means that many tankers on the losing side leave the battle and go and find a better one.

To solve this I think exactly half of the battle fund should ALWAYS be shared out amongst the losing side in the existing way.

This way the losing side will always get something useful and make it worth staying till the end,

 

Another bonus of taking away the crystal drops permanently is that Shafts were gaining too many easy targets from box catchers.

 

Maybe another way to keep tankers active all the way to the end of a game: at the end of a game in addition to normal battle earnings,  all tankers remaining get to have a mini battle say in the middle of Stadium or Massacre or similar - where we all get the same top speed and HP and weight (maybe all the same tank) - and can drive into a big pile of random crystals in the centre for 60 seconds and then see who gets the most.  The number of crystals on offer reflects the length of game, but to prevent 'crystal poachers' - the percentage of crystals you get to keep is related to the length of time you were in the game.

 

I think the Pro battles should be made free for everyone or at least for one week each month (say the second week of every month) - then you would find out which battle 'setup' is the most popular.

 

When gold box drops are about to occur I would like a bigger on screen prompt - like we get when we rank up (say gold stars all over the screen for a few seconds).

This is because I play with no sound (not wanting to disturb others) and I drive a Wasp 'frantically' (because my life depends on it) so I get very little chance of seeing the message at the top of the screen.

In any online game every thing depends on luck

there is so much obstracle like lag, power failure , computer related fault,

with this situation all fund added to battle fund is bad idea

 

actuarly we cheated other player who added crystal by hard play , but not played till end

so we are getting their crystal also by cheating ,

 

so with this experimental update its perfect time to add most appropiate update that 100% people will like

 

add crystal instantly

 

crystal / kill

crystal / capturing or returning flag

crystal / capturing capture point

 

 

in this process player will play seriously for instant fund + battle fund

is bored very much under the battle :(

am sleeps ... zzzzzz ... I play it rather other exciting game

 

I hope for it so tanki, goes bankrupt then!

I am not the experimental subject when the game pays!

how long is this gonna last , this is taking out the fun of tanki also ,if there is a long battle and u cant stay and have to leave though u have a very high score , u lose everything except xp

They are working on a way that if a team loses a battle they still get a reward, but they have to keep it so it's still a competition. Removing crystals box's makes for a more dynamic game, people are directly focused on battling, not doodling around picking up crystals.

Is this game about fighting with tanks and playing a game or about grabbing boxes?

You want more crystals, buy some or earn them the hard way.

In my opinion it would be better like this:

- Remove the crystal boxes

- Each kill by the players is worth 10 crystals (or depending hull: Wasp 5 crystals - Mammoth 20 crystals)

- Kill support: partial damage 5 crystals (if a player damages an enemy but your companion destroys it)

- Flag captured 20 crystals (maybe even more)

 

This encourages the battle and the battle between players. Especially eliminates the sense of frustration "that sucks! 2 hours of battle and I have no crystal earned."

Everyone can earn some crystal with kills or support shots.

 

In my opinion, this idea solves the fighting stagnant since I have to kill to earn muhahahahHAHAH !!!

i dont like this so much i was getting the 50 box like nothing and now i can't get a little more cash if my team loses or im last.

 

Now about the gold i liked it before because say your on a big map and it drops on the other side you wont have time to get if it is dropping that fast you know what im saying.

Collecting crystal boxes has been a part of Tanki Online from its earliest stages. However, it didn’t affect gameplay that much – boxes contained a modest number of crystals and collecting them wasn’t worth the time and effort. Plus, they would disappear over time. When developing the new drop box logics, we modeled crystal drops after supply boxes, without assuming that it would escalate the situation. The open testing didn’t unravel this problem either, as each account there had more than enough crystals so there was no reason to collect crystal drops. On release day, we thought that the complaints of tankers were caused due to doubled battle funds, which result in a larger number of crystals in drops.

 

However, we’ve recently changed our attitude towards feedback. We’ve started assessing and analyzing constructive feedback in the forum, counting positive and negative replies, and monitoring battle chats. This has helped us identify where the real problem lies. And we thank you for that!

 

That is why, as of today we’ve removed crystal boxes from the game as an experiment. Crystals that would have dropped in boxes, will instead be added to the battle fund as many of you suggested. Gold boxes are dropped right after the notification, so as not to distract players from teamplay, and give everybody a shot at catching the gold. The experiment will be on until next week. We will then specify our next steps.

 

Enter the game, take part in battles and make sure you tell us your impressions below. Any solution can be improved, and your feedback will help us do that!

Sry, I don't like this update because some tankss don't have enough time to stay for a whole battle.

For each achievement half crystals to battle fund, another half instantly to player who scored.

 

Of course there is self-destruct thing... it lowers score... should it also drain player crystals?

I think this is a very good thing to do!

 

Lately I have seen players more occupied by catching crystals than playing the game. Those players just hinder the whole team by not playing and/or contributing in battle! Now the battle found is distributed fairly among the players who participated until the end. Those who left prematurely get nothing, witch is what they deserve.

 

This is not a farming game where you collect crystals. This is a shooter game where you gather kills and make caps. I understand those who oppose, it is nice to see when crystals fall and you instantly take them, but that is not the point of this game, it is a shooter MMO!

The other day when 100 crystal boxes appeared I thought to stop playing this game! There was no game-play, just chasing crystals.

 

For counterballance I suggest upping the daily bonus, adding crystal founds in corelation of previous day game-time played.

okay, after playing for a few years and going through many changes I have to say this experiment isn't for the better. Players like me, without a clan, that don't play often but just for fun count on the falling of crystal to do any upgrades and even then it takes ages before we can. This experiment will work with 2 small changes:

1) make sure the gold boxes drop more often and random! So really anyone has a change to get it. Like say after every 1500 battle funds.

 

Or

 

 

2) Make sure everyone gets more crystals as daily bonus!

 

These are just my 2 cents.
