this is ridiculous,you will gain xp but not crystals to buy m2 or m3s ,so you will have to buy crystals if you want m2 or m3s.those who can buy will stay and those cant will have to quit tanki.well done devs for finding a way to exploit your members who make this game survive to this date.CONGRATS.

Why will you gain less crystals? They've been pumped into the fund instead, so if you play properly (not a crystal box collector) and stay to the end of games you should be earning more!

I have to agree with what you're saying, I think it's hard for lower ranked players to comprehend why the new update is better. No problems whatsoever with crystal drops being removed, but the gold box system should not be this way. I do think that it should be displayed on the ground for players to have an equal or better chance at taking it. Gold box notification should be 15-20 second before the actual drop.

I enjoy this update. As a sniper, I use shaft almost exclusively. With past updates, this meant that I was not able to gain as many crystals as someone who wasn't camping. Im always in the top three in all of my battles, but im still only getting the fund at the end because im not getting crystal boxes. overall, im getting less crystals. Throughout my career, I would say that I've missed out on hundreds of thousands of crystals. This update would solve this problem for snipers, as all we would have to do is play well to get the most crystals. We don't have to worry about collecting dropped crystals and can focus more on sniping.

 

@majorpakpak: it's a risk everyone has to take. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Besides, collecting the drops will never be as profitable as playing well and staying to the end of a battle.

Drop the gold box at random time, random place with NO advanced notice would solve the problem of players camping at the spot!

 

Having crystal boxes would make it worthwhile to continue playing even if your team is losing.  Otherwise, there is no reason to play knowing you won't get any crystals or very little.  Why use your own supplies to defend a losing battle.  It would be a waste.

No we are under no illusion that there are less crystals in fact if you read the comments properly you would see we are complaining about the fact those crystals are less available to everybody and also the fact that you are now constantly having to fight your team as well as the opponents for score to get more crystals.

isn't that first thing you need to do?..to fight?..if you are for grabbing and farming,there are other games too..mults like you caused this to happen..play for reward..and I really don't understand comments like "now we need to play to the end of the battle"..does anyone force you to play 100 flags or 300 minutes?..each and every player (except banned players) can create battle..make it shorter..5-6 flags or 20 minutes..play CP,nice funds,make it to 50 spots..you have options..just use it..don't whine here..you still don't understand that this is far better for you?..and maybe you are one of those players close to your rank that join gismo drugg wars?..game over for those..I really hope..funds are quite better for you..players,such as I am,who pay 5k monthly for PRO pass lost with this update..before this  update in PRO battles,when cry drop turned off,fund was bigger about 25-30%..devs are making this to help you..and you still don't get that..spoiled low ranked tankers (no offence)..I said that 100 times,and I'll repeat it once more..you have 50% discounts almost every 2 weeks,even 70% sometimes..kits,rewards in social networks..and still aou aren't satisfied?..I wish you guys were here 2.5 years ago or earlier..then,only then you could appreciate this last update!

To those who are thoroughly opposing the change, most of what I can see is just 'I hate this' or something along those lines.

 

Please could you explain why you don't like it, otherwise it's hard to take your opinion seriously :P

I like the change, but I see some problems with it:

1. If you drop out of learning curve, falling behind others with skill, there is no way to gain crystals without gaining exp (ok - no way without buying). And - with way battle fund is divided - you still gain more and more exp, with les and less crystals.

2. Similarily - several lost battles, a few battles that you have to exit prematurely and BAM - you have just gained a lot of exp with no crystals to cover future expenses.

3. From when "experiment" started I play almost exclusively  in DMs. Any team play is too risky, as income depends too much on other players. When I screw something in DM its my fault, but I hate when we lose team match eventhough my play was good.

4. You say dropped crystals are added straight to battle fund. You are probably right. But now I have to play from the very beggining of match, to very end, at 100% of my skills to gain about as much crystals as I gained from battle fund + drops before. My exp skyrocets, incomes are more or less same as before.

 

There is no conlusion to it. I still think that its better with no dropping crystals. But I feel those problems should be somehow "addressed".

Just like how it has always been, the loser hardly gers a morsel of the fund, despite their hard work and willingness to stick it out to the end. After all, without these "losers," the winners wouldn't have much to take home in the first place. However, the crystal boxes that drop from the skies actually gives the players on the losing team some extra crystals. Although they end with a loss, and hardly a "reward," they sustain enough crystals from boxes to make it worth while.

This is a chicken and egg situation, because would they parhaps have won if they didn't go for free crystals?

 

Since the day I started playing I've never taken a detour to pick up some crystals and it has been greatly rewarding. It was in fact so rewarding that my first ever payment to Tanki was after I reached the rank of Generalissimo!

 

Picking up crystals doesn't involve skill, fighting hard and winning battles does. I personally think the one's that are complaining at the moment are those who have picked easy crystals over team effort. Their mentality needs a change and they need to work on skill, by simply picking up easy crystals they haven't gained enough to compete with those who didn't and fought hard all the time...

 

I know all my playing time was about enhancing skill, and I can safely say that doesn't apply to everyone!

Oh?   Have you actually READ any of these comments?  I have.

 

There are plenty of specific complaints, with many of the same complaints listed multiple times.

 

Druggers are dominating most games now, and winning most of the crystals.

 

I suggest changing the name of "Tanki" to "Druggie".

Ok I'm going to try to form up a list of a few player's arguments for the update and my arguments against so here it goes.

 

1. Crystals are now added to the battle fund=more crystals: Well yes and no, one thing you have to remember about battle fund is it's very one sided and the best player on the losing team can and will often find himself getting less crystals than the player at the bottom of the winning team who did hardly anything despite the fact the losing player got a much bigger score. Also what about the players forced to leave a battle for whatever reason now get's nothing whereas with crystal boxes they would at least have something.

2. No more crystal collectors: This is only true to a certain extent as whilst it does get rid of crystal campers it encourages mults, raids and saboteurs as a bigger fund=bigger reward for successfully completing one of these activities.

3. More teamwork now: Again this is only true to a certain extent as whilst players are going for the objective I have noticed there is sometimes fighting amongst the team for flags and kills.

 

Please just put it back to 10 crystal boxes as they weren't much of a distraction and it still allowed everyone to get crystals.

 

Bear in mind these are just m opinions and I'm not saying there is anything wrong with liking this update and I can certainly see the appeal however for me the advantages are simply out weighed by the disadvantages/problems.

Hmm,I'm Speechless about this update 

 Gold Must fall when the fund crosses 500 and then after 1500 this will make the battle a bit interesting that will be much better than 100 crys and the normal crys boxes will be added into the fund that will be awesome

Collecting crystal boxes has been a part of Tanki Online from its earliest stages. However, it didn’t affect gameplay that much – boxes contained a modest number of crystals and collecting them wasn’t worth the time and effort. Plus, they would disappear over time. When developing the new drop box logics, we modeled crystal drops after supply boxes, without assuming that it would escalate the situation. The open testing didn’t unravel this problem either, as each account there had more than enough crystals so there was no reason to collect crystal drops. On release day, we thought that the complaints of tankers were caused due to doubled battle funds, which result in a larger number of crystals in drops.

 

However, we’ve recently changed our attitude towards feedback. We’ve started assessing and analyzing constructive feedback in the forum, counting positive and negative replies, and monitoring battle chats. This has helped us identify where the real problem lies. And we thank you for that!

 

That is why, as of today we’ve removed crystal boxes from the game as an experiment. Crystals that would have dropped in boxes, will instead be added to the battle fund as many of you suggested. Gold boxes are dropped right after the notification, so as not to distract players from teamplay, and give everybody a shot at catching the gold. The experiment will be on until next week. We will then specify our next steps.

 

Enter the game, take part in battles and make sure you tell us your impressions below. Any solution can be improved, and your feedback will help us do that!

I don't like the new updates... i liked the thrill of trying to get the boxes before anyone else......... can you please bring them back?

I just thought of an easy to implement and maybe even elegant idea to solve one of the biggest issues you keep

reading in many posts.

 

That big issue is that the loosing team gets to little of the battlefund. If you are really unlucky and

your team captures no flag at all you even get zero. No matter how hard and long, you and your

team may have fought.

 

My idea: why not start every CTF, with at least one flag for both teams?

So the first flag is already given by Tanki just by creating a CTF. The creator of a battle can 't change this.

If you play longer CTF 's with more flags to capture, both teams will start with even more flags.

 

It could look like this:

 

CTF of 1 to 5 flags: already one flag is given

CTF till 10 flags: already two flags are given

CTF till 20 flags: already three flags are given

etc.

 

This way you will always enter a CTF with the certainty you will never leave without crystals.

It will also mean that a loosing team has more chance that the players will stay till the end of the battle.

 

And also that more players will be willing to join a loosing team, ofcourse to try to win the battle,

but with no success they still will be getting crystals.

 

 

 

A. The losing team gets a bigger share of the crystal fund. Something like ALWAYS a minimum of 10 or 20 percent.

Even when the loosing team ends up with capturing zero flags themselves, they still get 10 or 20 percent

of the total battlefund because there were already some flags given a beforehand: ^ read the green lines above.

This will prevent players from leaving!

Players that stay will contribute to the total battlefund, so this is another benefit for both teams.

 

B. Crystal boxes of 10 (same as it used to be) till the rank of Warrant Officer 5.

Above Warrant Officer 5 ( the rank where the first M2 equipment appears) no more crystal boxes at all.

Starting from WO5 and above this will discourage crystal multing (simply by being not possible anymore),

and this will also encourage team participation in TDM and CTF.

 

C. The Goldbox should have a (very) short relay time.

It 's unfair if a Goldbox falls during a respawn or if you are in a really bad spot.

10 or 15 seconds won 't distract too much of the game that 's going on and will give anyone a fairer chance of

catching it.

 

 

Fantastic suggestions. All 3 deserve sincere consideration.
