Join the experiment with crystal drops

Collecting crystal boxes has been a part of Tanki Online from its earliest stages. However, it didn’t affect gameplay that much – boxes contained a modest number of crystals and collecting them wasn’t worth the time and effort. Plus, they would disappear over time. When developing the new drop box logics, we modeled crystal drops after supply boxes, without assuming that it would escalate the situation. The open testing didn’t unravel this problem either, as each account there had more than enough crystals so there was no reason to collect crystal drops. On release day, we thought that the complaints of tankers were caused due to doubled battle funds, which result in a larger number of crystals in drops.

 

However, we’ve recently changed our attitude towards feedback. We’ve started assessing and analyzing constructive feedback in the forum, counting positive and negative replies, and monitoring battle chats. This has helped us identify where the real problem lies. And we thank you for that!

 

That is why, as of today we’ve removed crystal boxes from the game as an experiment. Crystals that would have dropped in boxes, will instead be added to the battle fund as many of you suggested. Gold boxes are dropped right after the notification, so as not to distract players from teamplay, and give everybody a shot at catching the gold. The experiment will be on until next week. We will then specify our next steps.

I find the battles more intense as there are not people doing nothing except sit waiting for crystals. Maybe a bit fairer for those who sit and snipe and contribute a lot to the score but seldom able to collect crystals. Adding to the total score is good IMO but you should maybe think about awarding crystals to the losing side depending on their kill score or more experience points perhaps. Just played CTF game my team no flags but then we were outnumbered two and later three to one. Knew there was no chance against overwhelming odds but it was good fun and I need the practice.

Actually, crystal boxes cannot distract you anymore from the main purpose. so It's looks great  to be added to the battle fund !!!   On the other hand, it is so good for the high ranks players or buyers ... like me ..., but it is not so good for the rest players ... maybe the final result in the end of a battle, should be more fair and generous to low ranks ... for example "1st Player 1300 cry and the last 100 cry". After so many battles, I can positively say, you cannot earn 1300 cry only by your skills, but it;s a team work .  As about gold boxes, as someone else said before, if you are in a big map battle you cannot do nothing since there is no time to react.  I liked more the old system, where you didn't know where it will drop and you had time to predict.

You can't be serious right? You do mean more mults right? As since there is more battle fund there is more incentive for mults saboteurs and raids as more battle fund crystals=bigger reward

I'm sorry you can not go box hunting. Why would you want to.

You are now a gismo and have a daily present of 3300 crystal value. Log in for a week and thats 23100 yes 23 thousand crystal value of drugs and crystals. thats 2310  crystal boxes or 462 drugs.

 

Why not accept you now have to play real Tanki and stop being a box hunter = spoiling battles for real Tankers..

How many battles have you ruined with crystal box hunting. This update is the best ever and long overdue and needs to stay.. 

 

You say, " i used to be able to buy anything that i wanted ", thats a lot of crystal boxes. All you are is a battle spoiling, box hunter.

 

With my daily present drugs and tactics I win enough crystals from battles for my garage needs. Real Tanki is like football - a fun skill game. 

Start being a real Tanker pro.

Battle are harder with people working for the win, have had many more great battles this week then i do in a average week.

 

I would like to see blue boxes left out of the game, but would like to see say a 30 second delay on the gold box, 30 seconds would be plenty of time to respawn and get to a place the bx might drop.

The new gold system is interesting. Now it does not distract the gameplay and its better using light hulls since you can get to the golds faster.

Why everybody tells that the Gold distract the gameplay? Are there 15 Gold box per game?

 

The best part in Gold is the waiting. Don't tell us that now everyone has a chance for tge Gold. It falls in base, and it falls fast. This is 100% luck.

 

Gold was better when it was "Gold box will be dropped soon" and with no spot highlighted. Back then, everyone had a real chance. Time to change hull, to prepare. To think to a strategy when the shadow of the Gold appear on the ground.

ikr 17000 battle fund and 100 crystals are supposed to be added to the battle fund and just waiting for like 15min no 100 crystal was added to the fund. like rly just siting there watching the battle fund

Crystals boxes added to the battle fund is brilliant! Although I think it should be changed to like a 10-20 second delay for gold boxes. You could still say "Gold box will be dropped soon" just the time would be 10-20 seconds. Also I think that the predictable drop for gold box should not be there. It makes it literally a pushing contest for it.

 

Edit: Also now that you added Crystal Boxes to the battle fund, there wont be those "crystal sitters" who just sit and wait for crystals to fall...
