Join the experiment with crystal drops

The new goldbox mode is really annoying, especially for shafts ;).  Most players will agree that they do not have time to run to the location that goldboxes fall :angry: . Plz bring back the older version for goldboxes! I think it was much better! :D

Thanks to the "experiment," Tanki is now TOTALLY dominated by druggers using mults.

 

The only way to "win" is to watch a game and, when a pack of druggers and mults enter,  you join them.  

 

The whole strategy of the game has changed and the only way to win is to team up with the cheaters.

 

Try to play an honest, non-drugging game and you will get few crystals or no crystals.

Oh...don't bother to complain to Kirby2008.

 

He doesn't really respond to the specifics of your criticisms.   

 

All he says is that you don't really understand the update and you need to develop more skills.

 

If you don't believe me just go back and look at every response he has posted to someone's complaint on this forum.

why not make it a battle choice to have crystal drops or not 

choose crystal drops or not in the make map page.

then see what we choose to play instead of forcing us to play and see what we think.

i have already pointed out a problem with this format so now can you change the game play 

from if i leave battle (that i played for 3 hours) to get my kid from school i don't get my points placed to zero.

totally unfair i played for 3 hours 2nd in winning team and had to leave battle to get kid from school

need a longer than 5 mins for this especially as played for 3 hours ps bf was 34k  like 5 mins for every 30 mins played.

i take back what i said before. This is epic. i used to get 1 gold per week or 2 weeks and  now everyday !

1 gold a week jk you play for gold try playing no gold for 6 months bud just play you may enjoy game more.

Absolutely - now with no crystal drops the funds end up going to those who drug more to buy the win and have the money to buy supplies.

 

Prior to this even in a losing round one got enough drops to at least buy some supplies from time to time.

So, is it today's restart or tomorrow's restart of the servers will bring an end to this very dry season in tanki? Maybe someone can tell me when it is going to rain again?

Kirby2008 is right - the problem is peeps don't, or can not except that its better to become a skilled  tanker.

 

Peeps have entered high rank battles to box grab for so long you now enter battles,  without checking ranks, that you have no chance of winning.

Why enter a battle and play for 3 hours that may not finish  before you have to leave to get children from school.

 

Most of the problems with this update are self made by players,  who only know how to box hunt, and now find it hard to win battles.

 

Any battle is ok for boxes - to win you need to choose a battle, and have skills like Kirby2008 and others have said.

Collecting crystal boxes has been a part of Tanki Online from its earliest stages. However, it didn’t affect gameplay that much – boxes contained a modest number of crystals and collecting them wasn’t worth the time and effort. Plus, they would disappear over time. When developing the new drop box logics, we modeled crystal drops after supply boxes, without assuming that it would escalate the situation. The open testing didn’t unravel this problem either, as each account there had more than enough crystals so there was no reason to collect crystal drops. On release day, we thought that the complaints of tankers were caused due to doubled battle funds, which result in a larger number of crystals in drops.

 

However, we’ve recently changed our attitude towards feedback. We’ve started assessing and analyzing constructive feedback in the forum, counting positive and negative replies, and monitoring battle chats. This has helped us identify where the real problem lies. And we thank you for that!

 

That is why, as of today we’ve removed crystal boxes from the game as an experiment. Crystals that would have dropped in boxes, will instead be added to the battle fund as many of you suggested. Gold boxes are dropped right after the notification, so as not to distract players from teamplay, and give everybody a shot at catching the gold. The experiment will be on until next week. We will then specify our next steps.

 

Enter the game, take part in battles and make sure you tell us your impressions below. Any solution can be improved, and your feedback will help us do that!

i think that crystal drop boxes shouldn't be taken away but battle funds should be higher. its so hard getting crystals without having to pay for them. plus without the crystal boxes, you have to play to the end of the game which kinda sucks... the gold box thing should havve a little bit of a warning than before. at least now people can only drug up 1 at a time

I personally hated the experiment because I felt like there is a lot less action in the battles!!!

also could u drop gold boxes every battle every 30 or so minutes???

Kirby is proving the point I believe in. Stakes are high now that the fund is higher. Sometimes you lose, sometimes you win. Just join a match you enjoy.

Today I played two XPs and won them, got a good reward. The next one I lost, and got a pretty low amount. But the first few wins made it worth it. Stop complaining.

I think the plan for crystal boxes is good, but they should go back to making regular crystal boxes. But instead of doing 50 or 100 crystal boxes, make it more intense and add 150 crystal boxes to over 500 crystal boxes. Now that would be good. But overall, I like the result of more gold boxes dropping.

ok so to start off I miss the cystal boxes because when I play on my tablet I can collect the boxes, I like the gold box dropping right after the notification makes gold captures for my youtube channel easier. also can u do a discount on freeze and  isidia?

     In my humble opinion, the original crystal box drop format honestly worked out the best :). Players wouldn't really jockey for position to wait for crystal box drops until recently, when higher multiples began dropping, which Did interfere with team play. There's really no need to drop any multiples higher than 10 at a time in a battle or take them away completely to add to the battle funds. So much has changed with this game since I first started at around the time of the tail end of the Moon Silence map era (which I miss Greatly :(). But with the old format, if a player was in a ctf battle and his/her team could not capture a flag by the end of the battle, at least Some crystals could be gained with what crystals were dropped. By just adding what crystals would be dropped to the battle funds now gives the shutout winning team that much more crystals and the players on the losing team absolutely no opportunity to at least salvage a battle with gaining some crystals by the drop boxes. Of course players are always earning xp in a battle to increase in rank, but it's the crystals that upgrade the tanks. For me, playing in a ctf battle on a team that cannot score a single flag with absolutely no crystal box drops creates no incentive for me to stay in that battle to the end.

     As to the Gold box drops, again, the original format seemed the most fair. There shouldn't be a predictable drop notification symbol on the ground to give a player the chance to set down mines, as others have mentioned. Also, the immediate drop of the Gold box doesn't give all players a fair shot at catching it. A 30-90 second time interval is reasonable. Contrary to what some think, this would not interrupt team play That much :rolleyes:. Part of a great battle includes the anticipation of a Gold box drop after hearing the siren. All players can take a brief break from combat to see if they can catch it, while others (in a ctf battle) might use the strategy of going after the enemy flag. TO, please don't do away with your long tradition of crystal box drops. That would truly be a shame. Thank you for your consideration.
