Why tankers don't like TDM?

Recommended Posts

It's getting harder and harder to find TDM matches on the servers.

Especially in those at the end of the list.

Tankers seem to enjoy much more DM and, as everyone knows, CTF!

I don't like much CTF because the result of the match depends too much from the ability of your fellow tankers and being in a team that is losing 20 to 0 and every one in this team seems unaware of what's happening... it's very frustrating!

I also don't like much (though it's good for points...) being in the winning team when your opponent is so weak!

In TDM I think you can smooth the differences of ability and have much more playbility.... unfortunately still there are many... kids... who play with drugs all the time!

But having as an objective to kill the opponents being helped by your teammates.... it's what I like most!

But it doesn't seem the case for the majority of you...

Can I ask why???

Thank you in advance....

It's not just the kids who play with drugs. Some old men are addicted to them so much, that... well...

And this is TO I'm talking about, not the irl drugs.

OK, drugs are... drugs, so you are addicted by consequence! ;) (I'm not, but it's my personal view...)

The strange thing to me is that TDM is almost disappearing as a played type of game...

And I like TDM, so if something needs to be done to make it alive once again I'm kindly asking the managers to do it.

I used to like TDM a long time ago

but i will tell you why i dont like it now

Because of NOOBS

when i play TDM i can be the first of rank in most of the matches

and i kill twice as many as i get destroyed,, but when noobs are in my team,, i look at their rank in the match and i found for exaple that they killed 2 and destroyed 40,,, and suddenly i see myself loosing this match because of noobs in my team

TDM is a great game and i enjoy it very much

But noobs make me lose all the time,, so i stoped playing it a long time ago.

I drive a hornet/rail. It's not exactly a CP setup, and definitely not a great one for DM. CTF is possible, but often heartbreaking, as the defenders will get so entrenched that no one can get a flag (and of course, the only limit on the battle is the flag limit). I love TDM. It's so simple and fun. I, too, am disappointed to see a distinct lack of TDM battles.

Agreed with Beatbox50. There are way too many noobs/mults who spoil the match, and deprive you of your rewards for your hard work.

Unless you're going to actually organize a match with friends, it's not worth it when a noob arrives.

I mean seriously, I've seen Hornet M1's with Isida M1 run directly toward the enemy in an open field - only to immediately get shot down by a couple of Railguns. Like beatbox50 said, only 2 kills, and 40 deaths.

TDM would be better if it was set up for 5 ranks and not 10 ranks spread out . I could create a battle from warrant officer 3 to brigadier. Not a fair battle and M0 to M3 turrets is quite the difference.  Same would be Captain to Generalissimo. M1 to really a M4.

you do know that when u make a battle, you can determine which ranks can join the battle right except for recruits and pretty much anything bellow warrant 4ish?

I liked TDM the most but now no one plays them it's like there not even the game format, and in CTF u need team work which....i am afraid no one does (in whichever battle I play) but if ur talking about true fun of CTF then in my point of view "Noise" is awesome for it and "Sandbox" it's good too cause I play with Rail+Hornet and before that I used to play with isida m2 but now I don't like it just healing the teammates who don't even thank u and just shoot at u when they need to heal but TDM IS THE BEST!!

TDM is my favourite mode :)

In a lot of CTF, quite a lot of player just sit there and kill. If so, why not play TDM instead? You'll get more points (15 points split per kill instead of 10), there are no kill stealing problems, it is harder for raiders to takeover a winning game, and you won't be overtaken by people capturing flags for points.

As one of these players, I earn more xp and crystals from TDM any day :)

*Just to suggestion towards noobs joining your team

All maps have a wide range of ranks set as default and people don't bother adjusting the ranks. Why not make the default range smaller? If people want low ranks to join, they can just make the rank bar to fit that rank.

But in the other hand, in CTF you can win with a couple of noobs if your team is good but in TDM, with just a couple of idiots running to "kill", with scores like 2-56 can ruin the best team. Some people play TDM with wasp + no paint (how idiotic a noob can be?). I do love TDM, but it can be ruined by mults/noobs faster than any other mode.

@tankcalm: Agreed. At least in CTF, you may as well run the clock down by switching to a more defensive combination. You know, stall.

However, in TDM you're going to be losing constantly without any good "counter" when your dumb teammates keep getting 1-shotted without the brains to hide.

The deaths actually matter, you rely on your team even more-so.

What you call a "dumb noob suicide" is what gives TDM the right thrill!  ;)

For two reasons:

1) if you teammate is a noob, there will be with the same probability a correspondent noob in the opponent team... so killing is easy!

2) Imagine a TDM where all "experienced" players are hiding or sneaking in order to avoid being hit... but also in great difficulty to find a target! It's a kind of boring game, with no dynamics and, if not time limited, very long and with few points earned in the end...

Long live noobs aka turkeys being shot on Thanksgiving!!

LOL

1) Not will. It's might.

You're trying to make it seem good, to sugar coat it, but what happens isn't nice at all. Referring back to how it's MIGHT, not will, a noob on your team can hinder your team's score by a lot. A few kills, and 50 deaths. The individual score isn't what I'm talking about. It's the team's score, and whether or not you're going to win.

So killing won't be easy when the opposing team is good, and you're invaded by 2-3 useless tanks which generate free and easy kills for your enemy. A burden.

2) Who says they NEED to hide and sneak? It's all about what gameplay helps you the most, and how you want to play. If they want to hide and sneak, then surely that is their choice and it doesn't bore them at all. And there are no spectators for your information so you can't necessarily say the entire battle is boring when it is in fact an intense one. Though hide/sneak is usually for light tanks. ..

There are also the more dangerous ones like a Viking/Firebird who doesn't need to hide. First you try to sugar-coat things and guess, and then you try to make something look bad when in fact it isn't, and isn't necessarily true anyways.

But at least the battles are shorter now, so leaving the battle due to noobs won't be much of an issue.
