Star Series LAN Finals in Novosibirsk

I have been updated on the subject (thanks GeneralVeers ) ): Original post lies in the spoiler, but I doubt the validity of some of my statements now.

Hi Tankers

Now, as you may know, the Star Series are for the very best teams of Tanki, regarded as the pinacle of Tanki Clan warfare. The very best of these compete in the finals, which as you may know, is due after the Round Robin they play in the first part of the season. So when this post turned up http://tanki.starladder.tv/en/news/1088-sltv-star-series-season-ii-lan-finals-in-novosibirsk on Tanki Star Ladder I had had been expecting it. I looked forward to the 22nd where I could finally see the matches of the greatest clans of tanki play each other, with the added of excitement of it all being in a real life gaming arena.

But what I had not been expecting was that, when the 22nd did come, the Coverage got ZERO amount of coverage on Star Series, let alone only a bit of notice of it on the Tanki Online homepage - only briefly in the V-log, in fact. As of yet, there has not been any report, on tanki or on Star Ladder, instead I managed to find out that it actually had happened by looking at the post on the Arcade VK Page (https://vk.com/arcade_to).

Now in this report of Noobest singing a contract with Arcade: http://tanki.starladder.tv/en/news/1104-noobest-sign-a-contract-with-arcade-esports it explains that basically, the happenings of the LAN Finals will be reported by the organization team as you can see by this quote:

"After the LАN finish, the representatives of organization promised to begin regular streams with team’s players participation. You can find them at the streaming portal of organization: http://ga1axy.ru/. "

The article basically says that this organization, galaxy, has the control to release info about the torunament, rather than Star Ladder, let alone Tanki itself.

Now personally, I think that this is Sad. One shouldn't have to look to a 3rd website to see the results of Tanki highest quality tourny, even then not being able to watch it live. Tanki Cybersport is becoming globalized and is being controlled by organisations which seems to have little contact with the game and its HQ itself. Star Ladder was just about ok, but this? Tanki Cybersport, is becoming a game of Money, and contracts, and losing its identity.

This is just my opinion, everyone has their own.

On behalf of EC Cybersport, I wish to apologize to you , @okfighter, and to the many others that were disappointed that there was no LAN final coverage.

The LAN finals were openly discussed among the EC Cybersport staff. EC Cybersport was ready to go. DS, Gold, Joost, Nick, Semyon, Flash, and myself were all on board , and VERY enthusiastic to give everyone in the EC a great show.

But in the end it was not to happen. Logistical problems got in the way.

In the future, we hope to work around these problems so that we may provide the very best coverage of awesome events such as the LAN Finals

We at EC cybersport apologize for the inconvenience, and it is our wish that in the future we can provide some awesome battles for you guys.

In the mean time,

See you in the battle

Thanks for this message, I realise I may have got some things wrong after all, thank goodness.

Its good to know Tanki cybersport were getting involved, even if logistics etc thought otherwise.

Thanks once again for the update and clearing it up for me,

Okfighter
