Whats the point of playing on losing team?

Recommended Posts

Other than a hand full of experience points, (which is practically nothing compared to getting crystals) whats the point of playing for a team that is in a losing position?

This game is not set up in a way that ranking up is that valuable. Its you either buy M2's and M3's.... Or you dont and lose.....

If crystals are king... Why would you play for the losing team?

It's always good to play a game through to the end, win or lose.

For one, it builds character as both a player and person. Quitting because things aren't going the way you might like is a bad habit that can easily spill over into life outside games. This may sound silly to you, but it's not a laughing matter.

And it forces you to improve your skills by placing you into situations that require you to "pick up the slack" especially if you're outnumbered 2, 3 or even 4 to 1. You may still lose the overall battle, but you'll have many opportunities during the battle to test your skills against multiple attacking/defending opponents.

And remember, unless you're playing solo DM you're part of a team.  You and your teammates rely on each other to work together toward a common objective. Players constantly entering and leaving a battle undermine the team's overall performance. And players who leave when they feel the game is lost are the worst type of quitters...they leave their former teammates at an even greater disadvantage.  Just imagine the impact of deserters and retreaters in an actual war.

Yes Tanki isn't an actual war, but your behavior in the game is a reflection of your behavior outside the game.

One reason it's so easy for people to quit Tanki battles is because there's no significant penalty (other than perhaps losing the opportunity to split a battle fund or catch any potential gold boxes). Another is that most of the players aren't part of cohesive groups who enjoy playing together.  Yes Tanki offers the opportunity to add "friends" and players can create "clans", however a large majority of players simply have no bond of camaraderie that compels them to remain in a battle to the end. And still another reason is that some players create battles that are unrealistically lengthy.  100 flags, 999 kills, and 240 minute battles are ridiculous and unrealistic for most players. The teams that begin the match are often not the teams that finish.  How many people have 3-4 hours to spend on a single match? Not many.

So players come and go as they please with indifference and without remorse.

I respect the players who stay until the end, win or lose. That's the sort of attitude that will serve them well in life when they face tough situations.
