Yeah, two in a row, but I really feel they deserve to be separate.   I'm undecided about this song.  It seems a bit contrived, but it's still pretty good in it's blatant shock antipodean stylings.  She doesn't pull off the metal portion with great verve, but the glam costumes kind of mitigate the lack of legitimate crunch...not as full-on musically as Baby Metal, but the campyness of it just puts it over the edge into "good" territory.  If I had created it I would be hella proud, so, yeah, I like it...I think...time will tell.  One thing for sure it is interesting.  It's pop music.

I love the delivery of her first line from 0:02 to 0:05 as he steps into the follow-spot..."Uuuuuu, Heavy!"  ...perfect; what a total screech :)

Some of my favourite songs

Wow, posted YouTube :)  There is a lot of material here...to be honest, I haven't listened to it all...I'm only through a little over half of the first spoiler.  It is going to take quite awhile to get through it all.

I did want to acknowledge how much work you put in on this post.  I appreciate your effort.

What a lovely and clever arangement this choir does...thanks for the post.

This is my favorite Rammstein cover...significantly sillier, but still musically quite good for it's genre.

Two of my favorite Rammstein songs/videos are "Sonne" and "Keine Lust".  If you haven't heard or seen them, they are truly worth your attention.  The official videos are easy to find on YouTube...good crunchy music and very well produced imagery.  Top shelf stuff.

...OK, I know,,,I'm done for today...sorry if I'm being a thread hog.

Since you asked for them. It did feel like an annoying child who just hit puberty trying to play me her favorite song, but being unable to decide between the 2. I mean I did have a proper laugh at it, but I can't say I'll willingly listen to anything Poppy again, espesially if it involves her trying metal :P

Anyways, I thought I'd for a change share some thoughts ByeByeBye style, instead of the usual.

Ok so starting off with Rone. I think Fugu Kiss is the best song to summarize why I find him an enjoyable listen. An interesting structure, like a constantly evolving wave of electronic elements and an overall unique production style. I would also highly recommend the music videos to his more popular songs, some really innovative and high-quality stuff. My favorites are "Gravity" and "Acid Reflux".

Ok, something more mmmm Swedish. For me, Laleh is a terrifically uplifting artist. And even though some of her music is rather formulaic and her lyrics, not the most compelling she is doing a lot of things right to create such a great feeling, so I'm not one to criticize.

I had a hard time choosing a song from her for this post, but I think "vårens första dag" should do the trick in capturing some of her musical gracefulness.

Ok, now for the longest time I heard great reviews of this Dirty Computer album, and I thought.. you know, it can't be that good, probably just something way experimental or tecnical. Well yeah, I was wrong, this is not just your average "forward thinking" album, What it really is, is an exceptionally good collection of empowerment and fun. "I got the juice" was my top pick from it since Pharrell is just the best guest artist for the track I could think of. (Also don't tell Cooper0... I tried my best to find a completely clean version, but sadly it does have 1 profane bar in it) so I hid it in the end of a sizable post inside of a spoiler, even tho I really wanted to do a full post... plz forgive ;(

I like all three of these tunes.

Normally I wouldn't have spent much time with Fugu Kiss since most electronic music goes over my head or is just plain old insipid.  But because of your recommendation, I gave it a real listen.  Like you say, and unlike much electronica, this is constantly evolving within itself.  I would tend to call this characteristic "movement".  And because of this it doesn't become a tedious listen.  The reversed words interspersed here and there are interesting and add some mystery.  There is really a shocker phrase starting at 2:56...completely unexpected (very cool).  I don't know if I would call the segments before it building up to it exactly, but they kinda did...they certainly made the 3:00 segment dramatic.  There is a well executed transition to a different texture at about 3:59.  I think that if this were played over and over it would drive me crazy, but as an isolated insertion in a playlist of varying types and genres of music, it would be very refreshing and quite listenable.  I will spend some time with other pieces from Rone.  Just for grins, start at about 3:49, just before the transition I mentioned...it sounds like someone is hacking up a hairball then sniffing back the residual spit/snot.

The Laleh is very nice and I will be trying more stuff from her on YouTube...good post.

I Got the Juice...yeah, like it...kinda Prince-ish in a way.  It also has a real African rootsy thing going on.
