I abhor hammer. f**k it sideways. In every battle over half of the enemy have it and it just takes the piss to use the traditional tanki turrets against them, the knock back, the damage per shot etc...

I was in a battle on farm map a CTF for 600 flags, I was equipped with viking/rico, everything was going well it was 142 - 93 to our team, we even scared off most of the enemy, and then a bunch of double damage drugging hammer users came (all friends) and took it from 142 - 93, to 371 - 600, battle fund was around 30K, and I got just over 1K for like 4 hours of battling in earnest. FFS.

I just feel like yeah it may be a good weapon idea, but give it some balance against other turrets, the rebalance didn't do SH*T, to make it more balanced reduce damage and increase reload a bit more, vulcan is fine, its just a kinda weaker version of firebird but without after-effects and longer range...

The majority of tanki users also agrees with me from what i've seen... Well, except hammer users with enough crystals for drugs and micro upgrades...

BLEH.

The slower reload time for hammer , increased drugging with hammer,IMO. No hammer user wants to risk an enemy nearby living any longer than necessary, if they are going to have to reload for a couple days.

Yeah, this what I've been saying, but most people just seem to give up and buy it. I will NEVER buy a good hammer modification, I still think the devs should just remove it and refund everyone who bought it.

We already had rico, twins, isida, freeze, and firebird working in the same kinda range as thunder. I don't know what the hell it's supposed to do other than annoy the hell out of light tanks. Such a stupid gun.

Destroy hammer, and bring some more long range turrets instead. Maybe a low, damage weapon with immense splash, now they've nerfed thunder's splash. Good for CTF's or gold hunting. I'd like that a lot.

It's obviously OP too, despite the counter arguments that hammer noobs raise.

You think there are this many complaints about ANY other turret? No sir. This menace must be stopped.

Its OPness if for some obvious reason...

mluv8w5jz5zmii5jsg7n.png

Tiger would be the worst choice for this kit, and they added Tiger!

Not the user, for others.

If you think about it, you will see that there are some guns which can stop it on its range.

Twins, Smoky, maybe Isida and of course, Hammer.

They have hammer protection, so this makes them a team easily which is extremely annoying.

They have also Smoky protection which the gun have the highest chance.

There is just twins... But twins is not effective enough to work well for the areas where hammer can work easily. But, this is the best option...

Aaaand Isida kit. This can stand against annoying hammers, but also have twins protection, that makes hammers even more unstoppable.

What to do?  Just stay away from them and kill them with railgun or shaft?(unless if hammers don't use railgun protection. Tiger has a bit)

Hammer gets countered easily by Shaft, Railgun, Thunder, and possibly even Isida and Smoky. Don't you have Thunder? Or are you complaining that you're bad against Hammer because you have Hornet? You realize HORNET IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE LOW HP. You don't want to die so often, DON'T USE A LIGHT HULL. Light hulls were op at one point due to having minor debuffs that could be countered very easily by skill, assuming a good player. With turret hitboxes and stronger turrets, Light hulls are most slightly up/balanced assuming good people played the game. Note the word "good".

I'm done with trying to address the weakness of Hammer because most of the community can't adapt to anything new without ranting like me on the forums about nonexistent problems. Me and several others have told you how to counter us and you completely ignore it. If an alien invasion came and the alien leader publicly addressed that their weakness was (insert material here), are you going to refuse to do that?  Therefore, I have come to the conclusion (a stupidly stereotypical one, for that matter) that the majority of players than complain about Hammer are bad players or have very predictable playstyles.

No, I'm not a bad player and you're being ridiculous... Although you seem to know that.

Light hulls cannot do their job (AKA flag catching) if there is a hammer camping on the flag ready to 2-shot you. Shaft, rail, thunder?! When have you ever seen someone use hammer on a map where rail or shaft are effective? Thunder?! Thunder is terrible at taking down heavier hulls since the update.

Clearly, to counter hammer, players need to sacrifice a lot, something they should't have to do. I don't expect you to understand, since you sit at the other side of the big wall of hate that seperates players who are loyal to their playing style, and the fickle users of hammer who like its OPness, not its concept.

players who are loyal to their playing style

Funny thing, My first and most likely last M2 turret was Hammer,

Even tho I used shaft before it I never had any problems with it,

Now its my playing style and I dont like its OPness, I like the thing it is :)

love to knock ppls aim dead ;)

I would also like to point out, that if hammer is so crap, why would you (and 50% of everyone) use it?

(also referring to post above that quote)

I never said it was "so crap", I said it had plenty of disadvantages, just like every other turret (but ricochet which is just stupidly OP and only has one or two disadvantages). It has horrible prolonged DPS, bad group DPS, mediocre range, an easily punishable reload. This means I can't hold a position for very long, and I might not even be able to do it effectively. If you send 2 Vikings in there and I have no support, i'll just FORGET TRYING. Unless I flagsit, i might not even hold off one effectively. Personally, I enjoy medium maps and some large maps and I COULDN'T CARE LESS about the range it has. It's certainly not effective, but I would consider myself very good at maneuvering against attacks, considering I can HP-PK Railguns at close quarters with Thunder if I find the terrain desirable. Actually, the only gaping weakness in my playstyle is that I don't do a great job at "aiming for the corners of a tank. :P

I will admit, OPA**** Legacy Firebird and Thunder Drugging was how I managed to gain enough crystals, breeze through WO ranks, and make Lit Ranks a total joke and be here where I am now. However, I still find DPS/Damage as king, and always have even when I was around 5. Kinda explains why I died so often in other games back then, I hardly bought armor. If I feel that I am competent enough at the game I am playing, I will go for the maximum amount of damage possible. It's simply the most efficient way to win, and that's why I go for damage over almost everything else, even if it is a gigantic risk. In this case, I care more about flipping tanks than killing them, doesn't that go with the concept? I currently have one Mammoth flipped, one Mammoth assist flip, at least 50 Dictators, and a stupidly large amount of Hornets that I could make a literal nest from them if they existed irl.

I don't see why you don't see Rico users as entitled as this; they're living the greatest possible life atm

Ricochet doesn't punish people for using light hulls. Hammers DPS is irrelevant when pitched against its damage. It is a brutal gun. Have you seen what it does to wasps? Do you think that's fair? A gun designed to flip enemies is pointless, irritating for both user (who earns no xp) and victim.

I never have much trouble with ricochet, but I use firebird on hornet and I can burn 'em and zip off while they die. I imagine it's a nightmare for most other turrets.

The heavies can take 3 shots from a hammer, so with a rico equipped heavy, you'd better go double damage or you're dead.
