yea at m3 thats a whole other story because at m0, m1 and m2 the turret is a joke.. tanki only focused on m3 XD

Have to say M3 is a beast. It's tiding me over nicely from Rico M2 to M3. I've got two more ranks to go, and hopefully this turret stays powerful enough to earn battle fund crys. May have to cry and dump an MU or two though.

The key is that few folks wear hammer paints. That means I can almost always 2 shot wasps and hornets, and 3 shot hunters and Vikings. If I get fancy with maneuvers I can survive long enough to reload and then take out Titans and mammoths, but that's a lot harder, and rarer.

Impact is so low because off the fast spread of pellets add mid range...

No, you have to get close. Then impact is HUGE! Paint choice is key because as close range you are vulnerable to close range weapons like fire, freeze, twins, and ricochet. I use Loam which allows me to survive fire and often ricochet. Freezes are rare and I'm out of luck against twins.

Don't worry about rail thunder shaft or Vulcan. At long range, it's a hopeless case since you just can't do damage. At close range, you don't need protection against rail or thunder because hammer reloads before they can fire a second shot. Shafts and Vulcans will usually kill you no matter what paint you are wearing, and these two turrets are not common enough to warrant expensive protection paints.

I feel like bull using this :D

When on full clip i make everything fly,  add titan push to that... its beautiful

Also this is a nice gun to fuvk around in tdm with hornet... use this half of the time and then pull out titan smoky :P

I'm so mean i can't stand it >:)

Mess up all the jumps, ram all the hunters.... this gun is definetly getting MUs

I had it m0 parkour gun for a while... this is like jumping from lada to corvette.... love it.

Gun is a beast at M3. Each shot is like a slap across the face of any nearby tank. Supremely satisfying.

Yet impotent at long range.

You will soon start to lose hope on it once you get to marshal

I bought M2 Hammer on sale on alt, maybe it's just me, but it doesn't seem to great. Or maybe I'm inexperienced? Though on DP it just wrecks. I also noticed that when I use it, I feel as I have no kills at all, but when I check the leader-board I have more kills than anybody else. Not sure how it is on M3. Hopefully not as bad as M3.

I don't use hammer much , but on occasions when I want to get ignorant with the DD , I take out the old hammer on a Titan and blast stuff.

One thing I found is people want to play the "range game" with you. They try to stay outside your effective range. SO really knowing the hammer's "spread" is important.  What i suggest for new hammers users(and maybe a few old ones) is to go to an empty map that has the 10 meter grid easily seen and nice flat walls.(esplanade, garner, subway, stadium, etc) and start shooting at flat walls at 10-20-30-40-50-60-70 meters to see how the spread of hammer actually works at your M level, and how many pellets hit in a 10 meter square target at different distances particularly longer ranges. Learn how far 50-55-70 meters really is and think about it when fighting.  It will help you out, when people play that "range game" against you and they they think you cannot hurt or kill them. If you do it right you should see some "interesting" comments in chat after you "blow them away" at 50 meters or so(or slightly longer than that with the higher M level hammers).

Note: To go along with the above "target practice" routine , really need to look at and understand the "spread" stats that are in wiki to go along with looking at the shot patterns and dispersion. Plus  keep in mind the "auto aim" when shooting at different elevations.

With Hammer the gun drives your play style. You have no choice but fire. If the enemy is destroyed, good, if not wait for the brief reload and fire again. If the enemy is still standing, wait for the brief reload and fire a third time. If your enemy is still standing, you start what I call the Hammer Dance..... Maneuver like crazy to avoid enemy fire while waiting out the LONG full clip reload.

Hammer gives no choice as to how much of its fire is unleashed per shot. You have three medium sized shots. Do with them what you will. It's up to you to make this work.b in other words you have to adapt to the turret.

I suspect this is why Hammer is unpopular. It imposes a play structure rather than fostering versatility. And it does so WITHOUT the advantage of one shot kills which you can get with the higher yield turrets like Thunder and Rail. To get the versatility and moreover efficiency players want... The ability to deal just enough damage to kill a given tank while saving the rest for the next enemy is reserved for constant fire or near constant fire weapons like Firebird, Freeze, Isida, Vulcan, Ricochet, and of course, Twins.

The 50% sale on Hammer has resulted in an uptick of Hammer noobs in the game, which makes for good hunting.

I think it is, they would definitely give it an increase in its reload in the next rebalance, which is the only problem, m4 can kill a mammoth m2 in 3 shots

Thanks! I probably won't do 50/50, maybe 45/50.

it's really not that good. first, it can only shoot three times. second, it doesn't recharge until u use all three shots. third, the shots go a few feet, then they turn invisible, so y have a turret if u cant see its shots, meaning u dont know exactly how much range u have, so u might overestimate ur range and waste a shot. last, u have to wait a while before shooting again after u shoot, so if u run into someone with a rapid-fire turret, u have little chance of survival because unless u have double damage, it takes 2 hits to kill someone, but more if their hull has enough armor

however, with its knock-back when u shoot, it can be really fun to use in parkour

Tanki Online isn't a realistic simulator. It's an arcade. In real life you don't mount a shotgun on a tank, yet in the same way you don't mount sniper rifles, "freeze" guns, weird ricocheting guns and healing turrets onto tanks. This game is an arcade and the items are developed to be interesting and fun to use, as well as making the gameplay more dynamic. If all guns were realistic, then the game would only have Smoky and Thunder - the only two remotely realistic guns.

If you want a realistic tanks simulator - try playing World of Tanks  ;)

who said Tanki was supposed to be realistic

This is a bit unfair. At M3, Hammer is a real threat on the battlefield. On drugs, it kills Viking, Hunter, and Dictator in 2 shots. Three shots without drugs... And maybe assuming Your enemies have taken a little damage already.

Like I said before Titan and Mammoth are a problem, just find other enemies. Conversely, Wasps and Hornets are your breakfast.

This is a pretty darn good turret for Polygon DM and other medium to small maps with lots of cover to hide you during the long reload.

I do think M3 should unlock at Brigadier. That's when I got it in Jackhammer. After playing for awhile, I'm pretty sure this turret runs out of steam between General and Marshal. As it is, I'm at General and drugging like crazy to get through battles.
