How good is Hammer M2 with the extended drum alteration? I'm planning on purchasing Pitbull and the alteration but I want to know if the alteration is worth equipping on an M2 (as Jehuti advised against getting for M2)...

Do you buy crystals or are you a free-player? For a free player the alteration is not worth it. 50k-100k could buy you a lot of upgrades and or garuantee a kit early, etc. ;) For a buyer it definitely improves the performance.

A bunch of expensive m1s, the freeze-hornet m2 kit and spangles. I think its safe to say hes a buyer.

The extended drum is really good, but for M2s, you have to keep this in mind: Do you really want to trade flexibility for extra punching power? 

 

If you like to plow through people and kill everything, then that alt is for you. But if you want to have flexible strategies then I recommend the baseline hammer.

The rotation speed penalty usually isn't a huge deal if you're using a hull with decent turning speed. Regardless, Slugger gives you a lot more flexibility in engaging targets from afar, so you won't need to worry much about the rotation speed if your targets can't even get close. You might be outmaneuvered by a Wasp on N2O every once in a while, but that doesn't feel so bad when you can send them sprawling with a well placed shot.

 

Your mileage may vary when using Slugger, but I'd consider it to be an improvement over the base Hammer on a lot of maps.

Good question. I'm not a developer, so I don't know what the decision making process for Isida's alterations was. I just hope that they are improved in the future or that better ones are in the pipe of development somewhere.

With any range it will destroy and wasp/hornet faster than firebrird/freeze. In supplies battles the RK makes hammer useless.

I use to dominate with Hammer as well in Pro battles, alterations ftw  :lol:

My M2 Hammer 24/50 with the High Capacity Drum alteration cost me roughly 160,000 crystals  :wub:

 

I got it and the Micro upgrades during the holiday sales and when there was an issue that happened when I tried to get the alteration, tech support gave it to me for only 25,000 crystals  :D

I find it quite amusing, when I aim at the corners of the enemy tanks and i.e. Rails or Strikers swing around like carousels  :D Slugger makes it possible to have a stronger impact by the more condensed shot.

Sometimes I go and troll lower rankers who don't have M2 xp/bp and they all agree to use their M1s and M0s, so I'll go in there with my M2.5 Hammer with the 5 shot alteration, Rail protection and be unstoppable! :D

Hi, i just want to say that from first time that i saw Hammer, its very first look  was horrible even if its damage is quite considerable, but back at the time i was realy impressed by its popularity, which makes me feel that i really need to buy it, but now with the time passing, this turret is like the others, a normal boring turret. I wish from the developpers on thing, Change the texture of the hammer like making an XT hammer and making and m4 look and stuff like this,

Hammer M4 reload between shots has gone from 1.9 sec to 1.8 sec. Clip reload has gone from 4 sec to 5 sec.
