Hammer can erase an enemy with a single shot. The others have no impact where Hammer has tremendous impact force.  Hammer can engage at medium ranges moderately well. Fir and Freeze modules are seem much more than ha,mer modules.

 

Ok this...this is the best answer I've heard.  I've wondered whether hammer users find hammer protection much

Not really much the guys have other things worry about than a Shot gun they fear the afterburn of Fire & freeze ...

i am not seeing any Hammer protectiosn unless there are 4/5 of them is one team 

And i am seeing many Wasp hammer guys who just run up behind pop a DD then kill you in 2 shot you dont even know what hit you unless you are dead

i am saying about  M3 guy's

Well for me when I find myself in a game with Hammer or Vulcan I usually reach for those modules. Hammer I seem to see a bit more often in ASL mode. Other than that it is not one of your common turrets. I do not know what other players do. Hammer is just a PITA for my thang.

Hammer on a Light Hull seem's to be doing a good job 

Shall i go for M3 Hammer ?

You might as well since it's a weak turret and a rebalance is coming soon. I'm not neglecting the MU level on mine since it will likely get buffed a lot.

M3 Wasp hammer's have been tearing up teams , at least that is what i see

TBH since they Buffed Freeze , IMO no Re-balance is coming now till next year

Hammer is well balanced, 1k+ damage at m4, with dd 2 shots deal 4k+ damage, in my experience not many decide to use prot against it, i personally don't, avoid the shots, time the heals, be wary of 5 shot alteration, that's all.

I haven't seend many Hammer wasps, but that is the combo that most makes me want to get hammer. I usually see Hammer with viking or other medium hulls, but Wasp intrigues me

I have been facing them

When MM put me with the rank which you are now , i see atleast one wasp hammer

I play with hammer wasp on my alt. Pretty fun combo on drugs, especially since I can one shot M0 mediums with DD.

All medium hulls are 2 shots with DD ?

heavy 3/4 ?

They just changed HAmmer to 25% weak damage from 10%.

 

Does this mean Hammer can now shoot across the map for 25% damage?  A shotgun? Shooting grapeshot? Meanwhile Smoky as 10% weak damage?

 

I hope there is some range limit to Hammer where damage falls to 0. This is probably the turret I've uses least so I hope I am just flat out wrong here.

Hammer shooting across the map will result in at best, one or two pellets hitting the target. This will result in 40-80 damage at most, negligible.

Hammer can't even shoot anywhere near as far as smoky can, this "buff" did virtually nothing to the turret.

 

EDIT: what are you guys even talking about? this turret has less actual range than twins

Did the slight increase in the weak % of hammer nerfed it?

 

I am not a hammer fan, but wanted to buy jackhammer cus of viking and hammer for parkour, so I need to know if its a nerf?

25% weak DMG  = all shots which are out of the normat range will deal 25% dmg 

:ph34r:  , but in case of Hammer it means per pellet so it not so significant

since after the normal range hitting atleat 1 pellt is so hard 

It is a shotgun

as onionman explained, the 9 pellets shoot out at random angles, so the further the distanc, the wider the spread when shot and even 1 pellet hitiing a target across the map is like winning a lottery 10 times in a row

Thanks to the peeps who explained about the individual pellets and the effects ate very long range. 

 

What this change does mostly is increase the damage slighlty at medium ranges.  The damage reduction curve from maximum to minimum is shallower because it has to rach only 25% not down to 10%  So beyond point-blank maximum damage rages Hammer gets a small damage bump.

Guido, have you ever actually used hammer? The weak damage is like ricochet or firebird, it does not have infinite minimum range like smoky.

yes i have. it does have infinite minimum range... it's just that a pellet hitting a target is almost impossible, but when you get really lucky you'll see it can.

 

create a private battle in a big map and try it... you might have to try a couple million shots but eventually your friend across the map will take 1 pellet

 

 

 

I'm guessing you haven't used hammer enough to know that :ph34r:
