Night Mode for maps and Shaft’s laser scope

even i am railgun user,

i think it is unfair to shaft,

people knows when they are in scope mode, and time their shots easily.

once they are in scope mode, people knows time to hide and the scope becomes a target for railgun users, easier to shoot where the light from while loading from back of walls.

make a switch for the lazer, so the shaft can choose when to light up.

it is like if they missed target after opening scope, while trying to find target again with scope, enemy are ready to fight back.

that means, if you are shaft user, there is no room to make mistake, once you open scope, you need make the shot, any drag time means enemy shots incoming.

Your point was to do something with campers? You stimulated them.

A mobile shafter with light hull can now be killed before he gets his aim and fires. So, the solution is to get a heavy hull. And camp.

The night map is a good feature, thanks.

Sadly there is no real sniper in tanki anymore, we can't play seek and hide. The old way was the realistic anti-sniper tactic, avoiding open places, trying to locate the shaft and go close from behind or waiting unit it fires and killing during its long charge.

First time ever using this forum.

I cant reiterate enough how unfair this new laser update is to Shaft. First of all the Shaft is a brilliant gun to play with once you've mastered the basic strategies. To ruin such a great feature makes me not want to continuing play this game anymore. I'm one of the better snipers at my rank and it's extremely tough to gain points and rack up kills when you're restricted to basically one shot with an incredibly slow reload time.

The only way the laser feature can be somewhat fair to shaft users is to: increase the speed of the turret rotation, increase the power in arcade mode, and speed up the time it takes to re-enter sniping mode. Otherwise. the shaft cant fight back.

What i've found is as soon as you enter snipe mode people instantly drug to avoid being killed or they rally to your point in bunches. It's frustrating because it takes less time for them to reach you then it does for the shaft to actually re-energize in order to fight back.

The railgun is just as powerful and it takes a fraction of the time to get to full power. If shaft gets a laser beam while sniping it needs a faster opportunity to fight back in close combat situations because you've essentially put a huge target on its back for everyone to attack and aim at.

Hate the update! If it stays I think Im done with Tanki. The shaft is the only turret i enjoy using and its what i've based all my upgrades around. Really it's the only reason I play. Think you guys dropped the ball on this one. Hope you correct it before it's too late.

Also, The Freeze is by far a more disadvantageous or rather frustrating turret for opponents to handle because it renders you useless immediately and the user doesn't have to aim or be at all accurate. They simply just need to be somewhat in the general vicinity..

Nightmode is awesome.

The shaft update is really bad. Just played a few battles and its ridiculous to be a sniper.

Shaft was a balanced weapon before...hefty punch but slow recoil...that forced them to be in hiding spots....thats what snipers do....

now with the laser they are completely exposed. Earlier even if there was a single sniper in a team he could do some damage, but now if you are outnumbered by snipers in the other team, the moment your laser shines there are multiple enemy lasers pointing on you in a map like stadium...its ridiculous

Snipers only get points by getting kills as they hardly ever capture any flags so its fair for them to be considered dangerous for their punch...

This will be end of snipers in tanki. And this makes thunder much more powerful.

Night mode - is good

Shaft Laser scope - it is stupid. Shaft has a lot of disadvantages and the laser heavily degrade the weapon so that it becomes almost unused. Sense sniper was in the "hidden strong attack", thus losing the sense gun.

I really liked this update and the night mode maps are the best maps I've ever been to because the light affects.

Also, when does the new turrents come to the main game play?

I have a suggestion to make the night mode even better so here it is; the tanks should have headlights on them so that it would make the game more interesting.

Tankers! Our game keeps evolving. Today marks the release of two, new, exciting updates. Let’s look into them in more detail!

Laser scope for Shaft

Before this update, Shafts used to be very challenging opponents, to the extent that some tankers found them frustrating to deal with. This was mainly because an instant kill from a Shaft was impossible to predict.

However, Shaft is a turret that is totally unique in terms of gameplay. Because of that, we want to keep it in Tanki. Of course, we also want tankers to have a fair shot at defending themselves from Shaft's sniping attacks and dealing with it effectively.

Our solution is the laser scope. From now on, while in sniping mode, Shaft will project a laser beam visible to everyone in the arena. This will make Shaft attacks more predictable, and will add a new tactical dimension to the game, both for Shaft users and their opponents. You'll be able to spot enemy snipers more easily and use alternative routes to get close enough to deal with them. On the other hand, one or several Shafts controlling a narrow pass, will discourage anyone from trying to break through.

We have also removed the shake from Shaft’s scope view, making long-range precision kills easier and deadlier. Whether you are a Shaft user yourself, or a tanker trying sneak past enemy snipers, this update is definitely worth checking out.

Night mode for maps

If you're looking for a new way to experience Tanki Online, you're going to love the new Night Mode. The darker sky and textures, as well as the illuminated drop boxes and flags, will not only make the experience more immersive, but also add a whole new tactical element. While an illuminated flag will be easier to locate, it will also make your position a lot more evident while carrying it, making you an easier target to spot.

For now, Night Mode is exclusively available on Rio, Sandbox, Barda, Kungur, Polygon, Silence, Stadium and Future. Eventually, if the feature proves to be popular, we might choose to make it available on all maps.

We hope you'll enjoy these new updates. Make sure you give us your feedback; it will help continue to improve the game, making it more fun and engaging for you.

Good one love it. Cant wait to test it. Keep up the good work Semyon

Dude, I killed a lot of m2 to m0 tanks with this modes in my Brothers account and they don't even see when they are trying to capture the flag or something.

I've played pretty much solely shafts. I like waiting and finding good spots. The whole idea is wait and be unseen. That's history now. Shaft's not a proper weapon anymore. It's all about railguns now then. I liked the game, but I think I vote with my feet and choose another game. Night mode is great, but laser scope absolutely sucks. Why to have shafts anymore. People who don't play shafts will surely say it's good - but no. It's bad. It's same thing that if Isidas, Freezes and Firebirds hiding near defended flag having a orange blinking lights and making beeping sound. Or railgun jumping behind a corner having a traffic lights indicating to all when it comes to sight. I understand people hate us snipers, but that how it supposed to be. If someone is bold enough to run straight in open with light tank, he'll be hit. So, basically, why not to remove all other long range turrets but railguns?

For all haters of this update......I have used shaft in test server and also played against it. There is not much reduction in kills by shaft. the laser only helps when u see a laser in front and avoid going there. if the laser is on u...there is not much chance to escape.

i love the update.I think shaft needed that update.remember tanki is an arcade game not a very strategic one...if you want strategic games there ar emany others.more evidence can be seen by the new turrets introduced by tanki.they are arcade type...

excellent update overall.

I have a small issue when i am playing with dynamic lighting my fps fluctuates between 35-60 when more people are around me ina  game. How can I keep my FPS stable without switching off the dynamic lighting.IS ANYONE ELSE FACING SAME PROBLEM?

can you help!!? :) ;)

I would rather have the laser be a dot that appears on a wall like in tf2. This allows for snipers to be stealthy but if you are aware of you surroundings you wont get hit because the dot is clearly visible on the wall next to you. This makes people think twice about charging out into the open. While we are on the subject of nerfing, can we get a nerf on the railgun? I feel like when somebody starts constantly using double power the gaming gets really boring. Maybe not allowing double power on rail guns would work?

ps. Night mode is awsome

Alternate suggestion for Laser on Shafts.

The whole idea is to announce the position of shafts on map. Why not put a red and blue flashing beacon on shaft :fire_r:  :tank:

I play only with shafts like many others. I have no patience to invest money and time for upgrading another turret. If this update stays, its my dasvidania for tanki. But I really loved this time. I played a few games in morning and I don't feel like playing with update.
