Night Mode for maps and Shaft’s laser scope

Today I try to play with shaft on lost temple i hide in wood with green color. Before few days it was nice tactic and nobody saw me. Today, all players see my scope and they run away from my sniper and i cannot destroy anyone! And because it allbody can see and destroy me.I want to say two things:

 

 

  1. WORST  UPTADE EVER FOR SHAFT!!!!
  2. Night maps are good but you can give us winter night.

I have sent a mail to TO-support for a refund for the upgrades on my Shaft! When everybody with a Shaft does that maybe they will reconsider it! If not i will go on with my quest for refund!!!

 

Most players here use shaft as a weapon of choice. If they don't change it back, I'm thinking players (quite a percentage) will start leaving as there is no fun in pointless blasting with the other weapons

Did I miss something, or are shaft and night mode are not the only changes ?

I saw that firebird burn effect has been changed too. It was black before, now it is red

Some of the shaft players were so annoying in the past. Those who were camping somewhere looking at the middle field or some areas of the map, and aiming in scope mode. WITHOUT PAYING ATTENTION TO THE BATTLE IN CTF. E.g. not searching for the enemy taking our flag.

I mean MY TEAM MATES annoyed me.

 

Those complaining that the wobbling shaft required skills are right. Now the stable aiming is much easier and I was shot in move yesterday several times in a way that never happened before. The shafts could follow me much easier than before. Now shaft users need different skills. That might frustrate some. Looking at from a HR/XP player's point of view I can tell, that now the shafts are more frightening.

The deadly accurate aiming seems nicely compensating the earlier recognition due to the laser beam. But not for those camping and aiming into a direction waiting for the prey coming.

Be more active, find your target not in scope, that way you can provide even better contribution to your team's achievement.

 

I used to play with shaft (M1) for several months (during Spring). I liked the sniping but did not really like staying and camping in one spot. So, I changed to the Rail. It is more dynamic and agile. I think a little more agility would help those afraid of being exposed by the laser beam. As in case of every kind of change there will be several haters, but some will find the way how to live with, some will even prefer the new. I am sure there will be a lot who cannot get used to it.

In fact what I was referrnig to last night is that even with M2 Hornet, some armor MU, and, double armor the shafts are taking me out with one shot. It doesn't seem possible that this should happen.

Nightmode: very good

Shaft scope: I never play shaft, but it takes away the element of suprise, though in night mode it is fun

Firebird: What happened to firebird? Why is it bright ugly orange now in day mode? Because of night mode programming?

 

Other recent updates: I am still extremely negative about:

(a) the omission of 10-crystal boxes; bring them back!

(b) the impact on flag battles: still very negative; noob drugger take overs leave nothing left of lossing team.

This Tanki update has effectively destroyed team play: thanx to bad, not well thought out Tanki updates

Yes if only they don't update the brightness of firebird! Ugly in Day mode :D

As a shaft user, I am very happy with this update.

Why do  I like it? here some of the reasons:

1. Its much easier to aim.

2. I can spot enemy shafts with my shaft and handle them better.

3. I can scare and confuse enemies with this beam.

4. All this works well, when you MOVE with your shaft - instead of just standing.

5. And this is GREAT, MOVING shaft - is more fit to this game.

 

GOOD JOB TANKI - keep it up!

BruderShaft, I'm curious to know how you move with the shaft activated in snipe mode? I'm curious to know how you scare and confuse enemies with the beam as well  ;)

i think there should be a butoon to have laser 

if u want laser then enemy can see u . but your aim will be stable

if u don't want laser there will be shakes in the aiming screen of the shaft .

isn't this better ? ;)

ziddha, I like your idea here :) . Very practical, balanced and gives players multiple options. I would upvote but alas, I have used all my upvotes for today  :( .

The lazer beam should be removed or there should be an option for on - off lazer beam, shaft is not shaft anymore. Lazer adds only beauty but for sniper, this weapon is dead now. Thank you Tanki for removing shakiness of shaft and night mode is awesome!

Since some little babies whined about Shaft being hard to see, I want to whine about railgun's physics.  It is awful!!!  Railgun should not be able to shoot and hit a tank when that tank is literally beside the shooter and the barrel is pointing the wrong direction.  Yet this seems to happen every game.  Fix Railgun.  It's targeting is too generous.  Make the players aim at least within 45 degrees of the right direction to hit.  I challenge you to fix that annoying glitch.  It's the worst part of the game now.  Make the physics make sense.

In my experience your observation is incorrect.  I thought the exact same thing initially....it seemed as if the railgun could hit tanks that were at its side.  However, as I experimented with this further it became clear that the physics/mechanics of the rail is correct, but the amount of delay/lag of the player's display makes it appear otherwise.  

 

Watch the path of your tank versus the position of the railgun turret of your opponent. If your hull and/or your opponent's turret are aligned for a "hit" when the weapon is discharged then it's a legitimate hit.  By the time your display catches up with the action (even if the lag time is only milliseconds) it appears as if the shot was fired late (even when it was not), or that it missed you (when it did not) or that the turret was not pointing at you (though it was when the shot was fired). From your perspective it seems like an impossible hit.....but it's an illusion created by even the slightest lag in the time it takes to draw the next frames in the display.

the point is that. you can give like 1000000 opinions of yours against devs. but really that doesnt matter. because they always did what they had to do. look at past updates. did they listen to players? NO.

 

they listened to the players who were expressing the same opinion as devs(less majority). and this is what Tanki History tells us. so if you guys dont like shaft. or smart cool downs or no crystal drops or even a nerf on the weapons. well you got only one choice that is to leave this game. or accept what devs are doing and continue your play. :D
