Night Mode for maps and Shaft’s laser scope

The night mode is great fun, and adds an interesting twist to the game to help keep it interesting. Thumbs up on that one, Tanki developers.

 

Now, I'm extremely displeased with the Shaft laser scope. Yes, I can understand the frustration with the unannounced and unexpected kill shot from a Shaft-equipped tank, but so what? That's the same for real-world scenarios involving snipers. In fact, that's the whole reason snipers exist in the first place. There's plenty of arenas where sniping is just flat impractical and counter-productive for various reasons.

 

There's no anticipation for a long-range shot by a Rail, Thunder, or even Smoky. In fact, I've personally been intensely frustrated by a Thunder amplified with a power-up wasting my tank with a single shot from a great distance, on occasion as soon as my tank solidifed after respawn.

 

It already had a relatively well-balanced set of advantages and disadvantages. The wobble still required the user to adjust on the fly and allowed opponents to occasionally dodge a bullet, so to speak, so it wasn't an invincible turret by any means.

 

The proposition that a couple of Shafts can defend a narrow pass as suitable justification for this update is fallacious. Most hulls with an armor power-up can withstand a large percentage of single Shaft hits, well enough for a second undamaged hull to come flying through.

 

Here's an idea. Instead of a solid beam, what if the impact point is illuminated by a bright dot with some sort of backscatter glow, so it can be seen edge-on without completely betraying the tank's position? As it is, Shaft is now a completely useless turret.

New updates are fine.  The thought of the tanks with headlights would be a cool addition too.   The shaft lasers are great.  Interesting being on the battlefield and seeing the lasers in the air.  I don't have shaft so I can't comment on it's impact on shaft.

The laser scope sucks!!!  Snipers are supposed to be hidden, secretive, ready to kill unsuspecting victims.  If any military sniper had a laser scope that was visible ever time they looked through the scope there would be no snipers.  I used to be most of the fun of being a sniper to find a good place and pick people off without them knowing where it came from. Now, you get one shot, if it doesn't kill them, you are done, position compromised, your dead soon.

 

Taking out the shake in the scope is nice, but I would trade back to get back the ability to stay hidden.

 

all of the other weapons have faster cyclical rates, now if you dont kill in one shot, you are dead since everyone else shoots at least three times faster.

 

In short, very bad "upgrade", should call it a "downgrade", or just add a giant flag on the back of all the scopes!!!

So Stop Advertise it as sniper and give back to “shafters” the crystal we spend because we bought a sniper weapon not a target (laser =hello I'm here)

Not sure if this forum is for the dev's to take feedback or for us to blow off steam, I'm thinking more of the latter as most of these people don't like update and here we are with a laser still on the shaft.

Tanki developers didn't touch shaft's core parameters this time, and they even took the shaking off from weapon's view scope (a huge advantage) but they came up with this new feature "Laser beam". Maybe this new laser feature is hindering some new shaft users, but not the old shaft users.

 

I for one understand why they had to make the laser scope, in the past here in Tanki we only had night maps to celebrate a Halloween or New Year, but when they went to make "nighttime" permanent maps they encountered a valid threat of overpowered shafts again, and they had to level the playing field by saving other turret users in dark maps from hiding shafts (as they said in introduction video).

Now imagine the chaos a player with "hornet+shaft+picasso" combination may have caused even in a daylight map hiding in those bushes?
or in that matter hiding in a nighttime Rio map with adequate protection and camouflage paint? it would have been another disastrous update similar to "growing crystal boxes update"

They just had to level the playing field guys, this update has nothing to do with Tanki earnings this time.

We realize that you thought you bought a unit with certain features but we, as the developers, have decided that it doesn't matter what you think.  Many others have agreed that they enjoy the new feature even if the unit doesn't work as originally designed or sold.  This is unfortunate but we have made our decision and it is now final.  

 

Even if we have fundamentally changed the features of the  unit purchased by yourselves we will refuse any attempt at refund or even a small concession that would allow you to re-direct the funds originally used in order to purchase another fridge/freezer unit in our extensive line of cooling appliances.

 

Should you disagree with our position you are welcome to use appliances designed by other manufacturing plants...such as World Of Fridges or World of Freezers.
