Night Mode for maps and Shaft’s laser scope

I've given up using shaft because the changes are just silly.  Can anyone recommend a tank game with more realism and with a sensible set of developers behinds it who don;t keep moving the goalposts?  I don;t want to put any more effort into this game.

World of tanks, at least they don't put silly lasers on their guns

Antes era impossivel jogar com Shaft em alguns mapas

Shaft continua forte, mas com o laser infelizmente foi expulso de mais alguns mapas.

Shaft aos poucos esta sendo retirados de Tanki

google translation

Before it was impossible to play with Shaft on some maps

Shaft remains strong, but with the laser unfortunately was expelled a few more maps.

Shaft is being gradually removed from Tanki

FAIL

The whole point of SNIPING is to not be seen.  You've just completely stripped that away with this update.  Probably the most ******ed turret update since I began playing in March 2014.

If you want to give a "hint" to make things "fair", then show an illuminated dot on the target's hull or on objects nearby. At most perhaps show a tiny red dot on the sniper. But to show a laser from point A to point B is idiotic. Tanki developers needs to rethink this one.  Absolutely stupid!

For the naysayers I add...shaft is already purposely disadvantaged in close quarter combat. The turret turns relatively slowly, arcade damage is significantly lower, and reload time is fairly long for sniping.  There was absolutely no need whatsoever to further handicap the turret with this update.  Experienced players know how to deal with snipers.

TF2 Lazer sentry gun controlled by engineer.

you just put random useless updates in my opinion.

How will this lazer even help the shaft user??

he will just be exposed even more where he is aiming, where he is sitting, etc.

Fail

Its not meant to help the shaft user, its to make others know that they are being aimed at.

I don't understand why they are making shaft even more underpowered. It was bad enough after the rebalance.

The shaft already not  a good weapon its too slow to charge and bad to move

Now everyone knows where the shaft aims from which was the "SHAFT"S ONLY ADVANTAGE"

lol

i really bet these devs have no idea what to do and they just copied this somewhere else.

Oh and another thing.. Just out shaft back to how is used to be because with these new weapons coming into the game... No one is really going to be using it or for the people that want to use it they are going to stop because 1 the laser  2 the shotgun because now that I see it theres going to be mammoths everywhere with shotgun drugging up 1 shotting people... and that machine gun... cmon tanki... whats wrong with you now.... think before you do stuff ask for the players opinions in it dont just make it and assume the players will like it... The shotgun is a bad Idea Nerf it before you put it in the game.. Along with the other weapon Please and thankyou

Not even a client for the game, support really doesnt help you when you have a problem, really.

Losing players and fans..

The Shaft takes long to reload, the light on the shaft makes no sense the only advantage we had was the ability to stay hidden and you took that from us, its not fair. preffered the old sharft

TO ALL SHAFT USERS WHO THINKS THE LASER NERFS THE SHAFT. I have seen many shaft users who are not hindered by the laser at all. I suggest looking up YouTube videos that show tips on how to trick the enemy with your laser. I also know that you have to be in scope mode for a full second before your laser evens comes on. They won't be able to react if you aim at the enemy in arcade mode, then drop into scope mode for the kill shot after 2 seconds of charging.

EDIT: It has come to my attention that no less than 4 youtube guides on the shaft's laser already exist. Here is the link to one of them

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfvPPdYHOVo Please notice that this is of a mere sergeant using what seems to be an m1 shaft,( when the spin speed is low) and he displays no hindrance in his abilities caused by the laser.

Rather than trying to justify why the existence of the laser is not an issue, ask yourself if such a feature would be used by any modern military for the purpose of sniping. The answer is no, of course not. It's an ill-conceived idea that has absolutely no place in sniping designed by developers who have never served a single day either in the military or as actual snipers (and if they have, shame on them for allowing such a feature into the game).

I'm not expecting Alternativa to create a 100% realistic tank game (if they had there'd certainly be no respawning, isida healing, etc which is part of the fun of the game), however it would be nice if they'd at least make some attempt at accuracy with regard to actual combat applicability. And a visible laser is not, nor has it ever been part of a sniper's arsenal....for very obvious reasons.

Funnily enough many military weapons actually have laser sights, which is probably one of the reasons the devs added it to shaft

Hi All

I am very dissappointed with the 'Laser Guide' in the game. . . . . as this really gives the opponent an unfair advantage! We managed very well without 'Laser Guide' & need to take a look at other inovations for all the other Turrets to be fair to all. instead of just the 'Shaft' getting the advantage!! This really is unfair to us using skill & accuracy to target the enemy instead of a laser guide!

Please address this as a matter of urgency lets make the game EVEN again!!

"funnily enough" you cannot see the actual beam from a typical laser sight unless the conditions allow. Ordinarily you'd see only the dot at the target. Three primary factors affect beam visibility: frequency, strength and the Rayleigh scattering due to air impurities.

The reason snipers use plain ol' high powered optics is to.....wait for it....wait for it.....not be seen at all.  No chance of it.

They do, however, make use of laser rangefinders (which is what you're probably thinking of) but even those beams are typically of wavelengths invisible to the naked eye. You'd need IR, UV or other detection to see the beam pulse (which I suppose Tanki could offer as turret upgrades). And some military gear does provide countermeasures such as a high powered return laser to blind the enemy's optics (another possibility for future Tanki upgrades).

However, I maintain what I wrote in several earlier posts....the visible laser has no place in the primary role of the shaft which is sniping. A projected dot would be a compromise if the naive young Tanki developers insist on adding unnecessary features, but an experienced sniper wouldn't want that either.

You are right about the laser, as I realised afterwards that lasers are only mainly used in short range weapons. But the devs decided to make shaft less powerful and decided to add something commonly found in Hollywood shootout movies - a red laser on a sniper weapon. True, it is not realistic but if you want realistic warplay you might as well play the popular FPS games. Tanki will always have a bit of futurism and will be a bit cartoony, so I guess it works.
