YOU have totally ruined shaft and thunder... my favorite weapons, thunder is ruined because of the self destruct penalty, after the SD penalty i loose kiils as much as i gain kills.And shaft is just bad with the laser, it's like the shaft has a sign on it that says "COME KILL ME" so give me a refund now so i can buy better weapons.

Have you read Tanki's EULA? It's probably boring as a dead rat to you, but I find it rather interesting. Most of it can be summed up by this statement: "Tanki doesn't owe you anything." Seriously, even if you buy crystals and for some reason you don't get them, Tanki does not necessarily have to help you.

Don't kill the messenger here, but each turret and hull have undergone many changes over the course of years, in order to bring the game to a balanced state. For Shaft users, it may have lost something with the laser, but it equally it gained stability. Additionally, if you hate the laser, there is a good strategy to beat it, simply aim on an object that is closer to you, yet either a little to the left or right, is where you want to shoot. Then, when an opponent passes a little to the left or right of the object that is near you, you may swing your turret out and put the laser on them. They'll be dead before they realize where the shaft came from, and charged to full so quickly.
