I don't like it. When will they start educating? Well, some tankers are kids and some are immature, they are never going to understand the things being taught to them. It's a bad idea for educating them however, we shall wait and see what happens :)

Yeah, educating. When there's a person who uses bad language in chat, you go and say him "Read the rules". Will he? No. Never.

Instead, banning would help, because he wouldn't do the same thing twice.

the difference is, they are changing the way they communicate with a violator .. they first try to talk to him/her easily, then telling him/her that what is he/she doing is wrong, remind him/her with the rules .. as a last resort, they ban him/her
This new procedure will definitely be a changing factor in the violation sector, It serves a purpose. Take for example in real life, everyone criminal who has served a time in prison, will not be there only one time, once they get out, they go back ! I'm not telling you that violators are criminals but if you get a ban over an insult, believe me, you will do it again just to disturb the moderator that gave it to you !so better talk nicely then!

Oh and educating is the job of all of us, not only the staff team

^ Well said :)

And yes, we cannot guarantee that there will be no violators and offenders in the future - after all, our behaviour and the way we're treating other people is something that we're learning and bringing from our homes, our societies and cultures, and staff members cannot do much about it. We're not psychiatrists nor parents to anyone here. But if we can at least prevent future offences by simply offer a helping hand and an advice to majority of players, and by doing so make the chat and battles more pleasant and a relaxed place for everyone, we accomplished our goal :)

Personally, I dislike this. People who violate the chat and ruin the chat environment for others need to be dealt with if they go unnoticed by moderators. Immature players are very unlikely to learn too much, but that's just my opinion. We shall just see what happens with this. Good luck to the helpers. I am always happy to help, as well (just saying).

I do agree that some players won't listen because of immaturity, but this will only happen for a day or two. We won't be telling them "go and read the rules", instead, we'll be telling "here's the link to the game rules". You get the difference? Players educating players is way better than moderators banning players. When they get unbanned, they'll continue their "job", so it's better to start from scratch, by showing them where they can read the rules and helping them avoid bans and enjoy the game ;)

FEEDBACK

The only feedback I have is that,  I personally have not seen any of this "educating" going on. Mods still do not talk and all I have witnessed in the servers is player X banned for reason.....   I do understand what you are trying to do but if the current line-up of moderators are not doing this "educating" then this whole idea will fail. I have seen a lot more violations in the chats since the violator's section was closed and have done my own "educating". The only thing that happens now, is I get told where to "GO".

Maybe they could have a sub group of people that could report violators to mods. These people would need to apply for such a position, and would need to be approved. This way only reports that really need to be dealt with, would be reported.
