NEW TURRETS

         Hey Tanki!You need to make a rocket launcher.It would have longer reload time then the railgun,but it would do a little more damage.It would do splat damage (which means it would do damage to all tanks in a certain group).HOPE YOU LIKE IT!I love your game!You design the turret.I had something in mind but I can't explain it,but you do have to make the opening big enough for a rocket to fit.

Tanki has been working very hard to bring in the two new turrets they promise to give the players soon. I'm sure they won't be touching new turrets for a while. In fact, I personally am more interested in seeing the new hull and paints tanki will introduce into the game.

It would be cool to have a turret with a ballistic trajectory, so you could sit behind a house and have a view from above on the map and shoot rockets in the air, which would fly over buildings and hit their target. The main advantage of this gun is that it deals damage in a radius and can stay hidden and shoot from behind cover at enemies also behind cover. The disadvantage is that you have to manually adjust the power and angle to get the right trajectory and the smoke trail from the rocket exposes your position. However, I don't think this turret will fit in with the dynamic gameplay, so the developers will most likely never add it.

A "mortar" turret would be nice. The power could be stay always the same, and the angle automatic like the other turrets, so it would be easier to use.

 

Other ideas (these also are real weapons)

 

A laser turret:  with scope, invisible beam, that slowly burn the enemies.

 

A drone turret: small flying drones attack the (near?) enemy(s) as long as it stay in line of sigh and fire button is pressed.

Something like the Paladin from UT2004 would be great - something sort of defensive that creates a small shield but has no real attack (enemy tanks passing into the shielded area would take slight damage). This would be great for CTF.

 

We don't have any real defensive turrets (except for freeze).

 

Or it could send out something like the other mode where a large ball of energy knocks tanks in the radius off a bit, this, affecting their aim more than causing damage to them.

Actually the Leviathan from UT2004 would be cool to have - up to 5 players can join in on it and control 5 different turrets. :D

(The Paladin was my least favorite - it was just fugly).

No has to much on it so it would be to good and hard to make

Nope, I'm just stating the obvious...

This wouldn't fit in with the game's concept: one tank - one player. The 5 players will very rarely get along. With the lack of communication (for most it's only the battle chat), effective cooperation will be very difficult to achieve, also different players have different tactics, so the chances are that at least one of the gunners won't like what the driver is doing and the whole thing will not work out.

Obviously considering the issues of lag it would not be a great thing if the driver/owner of the tank suddenly quit the battle or had computer problems since in UT the vehicles remained even if people quit the round.

 

It did, however, have a kind of superweapon that could only be used if the tank were parked - when parked the weapon was stronger but the armor was somewhat disabled to counter the higher firepower.

 

I suppose in a way the shaft is like this - the weakness being it is more subject to attack when the player is scoping.

 

Still I think the concept of a turret having a significant knockback power on a group of tanks with low damage might be something to consider.

nice i hope you guys add rocket and its hopefully takes 5  sec to reload for m3 and takes 1 to 8 sec to destroy the target, what do you guys think! also its easy desing and would be great if you add rocket wasp for it..
IT would take 2 shots to kill heavy tank and light tank 1 kill becuase its rocket like in real life
