New turret already in the game!

Tankers!

 

Our game now has its own shotgun! Hammer is already on the main servers!

 

Hammer is a short-range turret that deals massive damage up close. Essentially a shotgun, Hammer is capable of damaging several opponents with one shot at medium ranges. The damage each target receives, depends on the number of pellets hitting it.

 

Hammer fires at a rate similar to Smoky’s, but it must reload after three shots. Reloading takes about the same time as Railgun.

 

Protection from Hammer will soon be added to several existing paints. Additionally, we’ll be introducing new paints aimed primarily at protecting your tank from the Hammer’s damage.

 

We have also improved the auto-aim mechanism for all turrets in the game. Now your gun can aim not just at a tank’s hull, but at its turret as well. Hitting an opponent’s turret can flip him over or knock off his aim considerably.

 

If you’ve been looking for a new challenge, or a new experience in Tanki Online, you might want to try out Hammer. This new turret, together with the improved auto-aim feature, brings lots of fresh, new gameplay for you to experiment with. This gun is very good for defence, It is a bit OP but that makes it very good for parkour. So far I've only been able to test it doing one man parkour (PM me if you can't understand out what that is). I have noticed it is not good for highland due to those blocks placed randomly around the map, The blocks Make it so you can hide on one side and get only one bullet or none at all. I do however like the way you guys did a mix of Railgun, Smoky, Thunder, and Ricochet. I do think that you should change the picture in the garage for it, The picture you have for it right now looks very nice and new, but all the other guns look very used and beat up. so maybe you should change hammer to have the same old beat up look, or change all the other guns to have a newer glossy look.

 

The shotgun feature is very nice, but I do think you should Make all the bullets shoot closer together.

Don't blame the developers. Their JOB is to improve the game constantly and you put them down. It's the choice of players whether to buy or not. It's one of their USP's (Unique Selling Points)

 

You don't have to buy, let players do what they want, the devs are only doing their job. Please be more respectful as it is their job, it's not a game for them.

well.to be honest,I have enough crystals to buy that garbage 2 times from m0-m3 at full price ;) this is not question of buying itself,but the "strategy",as you stated that your self :) this is "milking" buyers to get it,m3 fully MU-ed if possible..so there can be more and more life forms (this is my mild title for the idiots running around on druggs 24/7) who can use their's or in much worse case,mommy's credit card :) to purchase crystals so they can call them selves "kings" after butkicking in 2 shots max (on druggs) every tank on map with this funny looking excuse for turret :) ofc,only because opponents can't go to the garage and switch to protective paint,beacuse,darn,accidently,it doesn't exist :) seen enough stupidty here for quite some time..just don't have nerves to tolerate it anymore..biggest thing I regret is that I got few of my RL friends to actually play the game and buy crystals from time to time :(

Hi Developers,

 

I salute you for developing and making changes to the game rapidly. This comment is not about Hammer but about the auto-aim mechanism. I think you overdid it a little. It is so horrible that every smoky hit and every rail hit flips even a M3 hornet. I think it has to turned down a little or else it is just too annoying to play with a wasp or hornet now. Hope you guys look into this.

Tanki please remove the high knockback ability of the Hammer. There are so many trolls that go around with it shooting team mates. Its seriously broken. The knockback on friendlies should at the very least be reduced although it won't be as good for parkour. In 2 hours of playing the game, I had 4 encounters with people trolling like this , making me want to rage. ....Thanks for the new weapon, but there are lots of broken mechanisms with the weapon that need to be fixed.  ^_^

This sucks...stop changing the game guys omg

I dont really feel like am playing tanki anymore.Seriously its all different now and i hate it.

The new gun is a total mess: 1- reaaally op

2-m0 can kill my hornet in 4 shots..like wow :D

3- My silly teammates keep flipping me over with hammer..are you kidding me

4- you cant see splash damage so u dont know if your shot did hit your enemy or no

And the auto-aim? Even worse

Flipping wasps and hornet all the time.

Now a thunder's shot can make me miss my railgun shot even when Im on a viking :|

Plz fix it up...And Stop Ruining The Game !!!

This turret is really bad. I cant kill any1 with it. Decrease friendly knockback though. Seriously. One person can mess up the whole team.

Totally true!

I got flipped over because this hammer wanted me to heal him since I had isida and wasp. At first I didn`t notice him, later, I found myself flipped over. Tanki should really decrease the friendly knockback!

As a mid-sergeant, I'm driving an M0 hornet, adding the M0 hammer is interesting. I've been focusing on short range with firebird (M0), so hammer seemed a good possibility.

 

I'll second the advice that midsized hauls are best. That is, the hornet is too small. Destruction comes too easy.

 

I suggest viking, but hunter will probably be enough if you have more need for speed. 

 

I've only played three battles with it so far. I like it. It is a good change, and it is unusual, which is good for variety. Being short range and high damage, I was expecting little change from firebird tactics, but it is quite different. One of the oddities is the three-shot clip and long reload. I found often that two shots eliminated the immediate danger, and if I didn't have a good close target, try a middistance target, or just fire and hide, like with the rail. 

 

I like the oddity of the three medium-fast shots at high damage, with the long reload before the next three. It is weird, but I think it will be a good change of pace, and I was able to be effective with it. It will help develop skill. 

 

I love the reload sounds. They should be a bit louder. The shot sound is okay, but I ask for an upgrade on it. I'm not sure what, but a deeper tone at minimum.

 

The shot flash/spark effect is okay. It would be nice if it was a bit more obvious and a bit more directional. It is, however, satisfactory. 

 

The look, well, it should be better. Others seem to think it doesn't look good. I don't either.

This gun is way overpowered.  One clip kills m1 hornet?????  I use firebird and it just keeps getting less and less powerful.  I micro upgraded my m1 firebird to the max for reload and damage but i still can't keep up with it.  Now they add this gun and it just makes it worse.  Cool gun but way OVERPOWERED.

Possible additions for Hammer:

First, different ammunition loads. I suggest being able to change in the garage between slugs, with very high impact, and medium chance of missing at midrange (since the barrel is short and isn't rifled), or the regular 21-pellet shot loads as is. The slug should have about the same damage as all 21 pellets hitting (a plus-or-minus spread with the about the same midpoint), but more impact. It would imply a player would need to alter tactics depending on his ammunition. I'm not sure of this idea, but here it is anyway; I think explosive slugs, like grenades, are a possibility as well. These would need to travel, like plasma balls, but probably twice as fast, and they would splash like thunder shells. Again, these would be loaded in the garage, not changed on the battle field.

 

Second, for the gun itself, allow the purchase of a choke. Show it as a flash-suppressor-like muzzle on the end of the barrel if it is equipped. It would be changeable only in the garage. It would narrow the spread of the pellets by a percentage, perhaps 30% or 40% smaller cone angle.

I think it is good but it is too unpredictable as in it is kind of hard to see if you did damage or if you even hit the target because it is not like other turrents that you see a flash from it. Instead this a spray and it doesn't seem to show that it knocks off the aim like smokey. I have m1 smokey and this m1 but this is a lot harder to use. However it will be fun seeing low ranked people using it all the time and forgetting about other better turrents like thunder. Another problem is it's range, a lot of my friends have said that is doesn't seem that it could shoot the same distance as smokey, you also have to be the same level as your target.  My friend and i went in a battle and he shot me with hammer it did very little damage about the same as smoky. And this was in 2042 map, on the red teams side where the entrance near the bridge entrance to the left. i was on the flag and he was there. i shot him with smoky and it did the same amount of damage over distance even though hammer is supposed to do more damage. PLease make it easier to use, more range, THANKS :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D
