Aiming Update

Well, sometimes you need to be fast. How else would you be able to escape the enemy. Flipping tanks has now become very common and easy. We shouldn't be spending half of the battle self-destructing.

I don't know what the big deal is, all it means is you have to be less careless as to how you drive your tank.

That was the case when you were going up ramps (before the update), but now you have to be careful wherever you are. Don't you think it ruins gameplay as getting flipped is VERY common? You can't always be careful, sometimes you need to rush as it's the only way for escape. Also, many maps have lots of high and low platforms, so these maps are going to be very tough to play in.

I have a simple solution for this problem. Keep the auto-aim on the turret but then remove the impact on it and leave it all on the hull. This way, flipping is still possible but then less common.

Hmm. I just think this is one of the drawbacks of using a light hull. You have to focus on dodging shots instead of absorbing a few and escaping.

(my opinion)

I never minded an occasional flip. Part of the gameplay with light hulls.

After the auto-aim update this is not an occasional flip anymore.

And it becomes even ridiculous in XP/BP.

Focussing on dodging shots sounds really nice and is basically a good advice, but the reality is you will get hit.

And often you will still have HP left, which becomes pretty useless laying on your back...

No such disadvantage for heavier hulls: guess these "OP" light hulls needed a nerf!

This is a good and more realistic update. The turret IS part of the tank and therefore should be able to be hit. Light tank drivers moaning about flipping over, well all it means is you can't drive around full speed into the enemy base. You have to consider the enemy's actions and position your tank accordingly.

I use hornet quite a lot and I've been flipped a few times. I find it funny, sometimes it leads to spectacular flips, especially in XP battles.

It is even farther from realistic then it already was, tanks are not supposed to be flipped. I suspect that because they added the effect of impact to turrets and turrets have no weight, when they get hit they are just getting blown away and dragging the hull with it. They should be able to remove the impact effect and leave the damage,if they wanted to.  "More dynamic" most mean more cartoon like.

I would like to say that I am grateful and admire what the Devs have created for us. It is amazing that the game is as good as it is and still free and still browser based. Hats off to them, however sometimes their ideas don't make sense. And flipping tanks is one of them. Sorry!

This is a tank fighting game, not Mario Kart.

Tanki was never about realism. I correct myself, saying it's more realistic. Tanki is about having fun in an arcade style environment. Go play WoT if you want realism.

Why don 't you just go along and play with your medium or heavy hull?

If this auto-aim update doesn 't seem to affect you, and most likely in the contrary are someone who takes full advantage of it:

please spare me those totally irrelevant "TO is not about realism, so go play WOT" remarks.

Just hope for you your not playing Railgun with a Wasp or Hornet.

If you happen to use one of these light hulls you might soon regret your quote: "coolest update ever" (lying on your back again :D )

this was covered in the Vlog try watching it ...and read the news alerts ...

What was covered? I think we all understand an auto-aim update was needed but we didn't need the side effect of being flipped.

Also this is from the other topic about this.

ERMAHGERD guys, calm down about the flipping.

I'm not sure if they said it on the English forum, but in the Russian discussion of the new update one of the developers said that they are working on the tank physics, improving them to reduce the flipping side effect from the new aim mechanics. There will most definitely be changes - you just need to wait.

Well if what you say is true, that is great news. I just wish the EN community would get the same type of information instead of leaving us to fight amongst ourselves in the dark. Would it be to much to ask for a Dev to come to our forum and leave a comment or at least get someone to do it on their behalf ? Semyon maybe? They will come here and leave comments in topics like "how to eat fried chicken"  but ignore any real topic about what we think or want.

I hardly want to use my vespa (wasp) anymore...

Seriously! How realistic is a tank tipping from a shot?

Hornet isn't much better...

Nice to be able to aim at visible turrets but the knock-over factor seems so arcadish... would rather get killed. I like the quasi-realism of Tanki but this is a serious distraction in an Isida when you can't right yourself from your side.

At least the Viking is getting dusted off now.

The tip over factor is too extreme!

This flipping issue is patently absurd. My wasp has been flipped end for end on multiple occasions by rails at distance. I just left a game after being flipped upside down no less than 4 times in the span of about 2 minutes. I see this as nothing short of ridiculous. It seems to be great entertainment for the children in the crowd, as I am often - and I mean often - randomly flipped by teammates. No provocation, no warning, no reason. Just some kid thinking "Ahhh, I'm just gonna flip this guy, well, just because I can" or "That guy got the supply I wanted so I'm just going to flip him because I'm an angry, petulant, little child." So not only has this game design significantly removed the fun factor from the gaming experience for me, but I am further penalized because I have to self-destruct. So if my Wasp is flipped by opponents, let's say 8 or 9 times in a 15 minute game (not unrealistic) and I am flipped by unintentional hits from teammates, say once or twice, (nevermind the mults or trolls who do it on purpose), then I lose anywhere from 50 to 60 points and 10 to 12 kills all for the crime of having a light hull. I'll refrain from the expletives for now. Let me assure you, I have a truck load. All this falls squarely in the "Are you serious?" department. How this made it to the update phase is beyond me. I thought this game was headed in a better direction. Apparently not.

Unfortunately I believe the target audience for this game is pre to early teens, so if the kids want flipping they get flipping. I tell you, this update along with the lack of consideration for the amount of real money you spend or the rank you achieve, is making World of Tank or War Thunder look better and better all the time. Sadly Tanki doesn't care if the high rank players who have figured out the truth leave, they already got our money and will quickly be replaced by brand new unaware players with money to burn.  Customer retention is not a part of their business model, because up till now it hasn't had to be.

Let us face the facts: This update was sorely needed. And we've enjoyed the fact tat we can now finally hit those sneaky tanks that are holing up.

But the fact of the matter is, Tanki did not properly test this update. We've suffered the consequences as a result. This isn't an isolated problem; these untested updates are probably the biggest problem that Tanki's devs face.

We might get this fixed. Maybe turret shots won't penetrate as hard or hulls will become heavier. But although it would fix the game for the time being, the larger problem will still remain.
