What is Your Biggest Letdown in Tanki?

Today, I was having a battle with a bunch of WO5 and below.  It was a really even battle.  Flags were being carried most of the time.  I was able to return my flag, which was after 10 minutes of being carried.  I was then destroyed, but then I went to their side again, and was able to get away and capture their flag.  I was at the top, until they were able to capture our flag 1 minute later.  In the last two minutes of battle, they took our flag again.  I was just about to destroy their flag carrier and return the flag when a shaft sniped me.  He used a health package to capture the flag.  I was really sad because the battle ended with them winning 2-1 and I had such a bad battle fund to XP ratio.

 

What was your biggest letdown in being on tanki?

If you mean both biggest loss and pitful defeats, we were losing 10 - 50 to the other team when i first joined, we managed to overpower them and we were roughly carrying more flags than they were, it was 40 - 60 as we approached 2 hours into the battle, the battle fund was 10000 and we were doing well, that was until a drugging isida and thunder came along and streched the stakes, as the battle reached 3 hours it was 50 - 90, and i ran out of drugs, tried to buy more and catch more flags while defending before they could capture but it was hopeless, one of our vital team members left the battle, and the teams were slightly unfair, it was 60 -99 by the time and i was really disapointed because we should have won but we didn't...

 

This happened a few months ago, it was one of my most competitive battles to date :D

Happened when I was like Sergeant-Major or the rank below - I don't quite remember.

It was a Silence CTF with 100 flags and there was no time and my team was winning by 90-96 (somewhere between) flags. I was right at the top with 3k+ score. When suddenly a two WO2s joined. One with Freeze/Viking M1 and the other with Isida/Viking M1. Also, both had Jaguar paint. They were those 1-2-3 druggers, and I'm assuming they were buyers considering the amount of drugs they had. They literally took over our battle while we had 90+ flags and they had about 10. I remember that this was way back when you could buy 1k exp and there were no kits. So, as they were taking over, someone from my team decided to mult and help us win. They took our flag and just stood by the corner. Eventually, the druggers decided to put a mult in our team to destroy the mult in their team. So, we eventually lost. Overall, the battle took about 6 hours and all my efforts went down the drain as I didn't receive the big reward I would've received.

 

I experienced another takover before, when it was the whole team drugging. But I didn't spend too much time in that battle so it wasn't too much of a loss for me.

That is one reason why I avoid long battles.  Short ones you know the outcome and it isn't quite as bad a loss.

 

That happened to me once where I jumped off a building a split second too late.

OMG :( some noob with hammer flipped me when i was going for the gold box and he didnt even try to get it... he even said he didn't need the gold box and that i didn't deserve it.

DM with one other person who stopped playing, but whose tank was still there. I kept shooting at it and it kept respawning.

 

Then the gold box siren went!

 

I couldn't contain my excitement at having no competition for a gold box! I was looking everywhere for it and then I saw it drop in the distance.

 

I started to race towards it, and would you believe it, the other guy returned and took the box! :(
