Hi Guys,

 

I am 30 years old man. I play this game when i have free time because its a good place for me to spend some time here and meet and talk to new people. I already have some very good friends of my age here. But its not fun anymore to talk to people here because most of the KIDS here are not respectful and some Adults act like kids. Me and some of my friends are facing alot of issues related to dis-respectful abusing players and Tanki is failing very badly in this part. I just need to know why those players abuse someone without even knowing them, and if you killed someone 1 or 2 times in the battle they will rush on you with abuses. If we vote against someone no mod comes to handle the situation and Tanki gives us a very good excuse of lack of Mods, why they dont increase their chat mods. I know its not possible to handle each and every complaint, but something need to be done to make a good environment in this game or some of us have decided to leave this game. So you can consider this message from alot of players through me. Please let me know if there is an easy solution related to this issue. Thanks.

Smack talk back there irresponsible be irresponsible back

Getting pushed around like this is even more childish than the kids themselves smacktalking

What will you get out of life if you let people push you around

Of course we didn't :)

 

As I said in the previous page - not one player was EVER rejected because of their nationality, religion or race !

It's just that we're sometimes looking for applicants from a specific time zone or from specific country, because we have to cover servers which hosts players from that country, and most of them do not speak any other language than their native one...

I figured that was the case... never rejected specifically because of nationality, but instead because of language barriers and whatnot.  ;)

 

 

However, @Harry321 still has a point that there is a shortage of chat mods for the servers. As others have mentioned, some people are lucky enough to have mods "come to the rescue" to 'punish' the violators on many occasions, while others rarely have their plea's tended to. I'm sure TO has mentioned elsewhere that they are gradually recruiting more mods, but until there are 'enough' of them we will still have players report of abuse more frequently due to a lack of them.

I find it hard to believe that a Moderator would do such a thing. Actually, I love to help out in the Problem and Solutions portion and I have had some amazing advice from Consultants and Moderators who have helped me help the community better.

 

I honeslty put alot of trust in moderators, put yourself in there shoes. Overwhelmed? Thought so.

I agree with the OP. I started playing this game partly to learn Russian. I have learned a lot of bad words. This is not just a problem of TO but on twitter, facebook, the entire internet.

 

Solutions

 

1. /ignore nickname command -  don't display any messages from a specified user in chat. (or a right-click option on tab-team list). This could even be made into a 'not-friend' list, like the friend list but for people you dont want to listen to, or dont want to play in games with.

 

I should not have to see someones text on the screen if they are flooding nonsense, curses, swearing, etc. If someone gets ignored by a large number of players, Admins should investigate and ban. 

 

2. Clarify /vote in the documentation

 

When I was a noob I did not understand vote was for gameplay violations, i thought it was for chat violations. There should be some better descriptions in the documentation of what 'vote' is for. 

 

3. better blacklist of words

 

There are many, many English curse words that are not being blocked with *****. 

 

4. better blacklist algorithm

 

Many people will get around the bans by separating letters with a space or underscore. It is very simply to create an algorithm to detect this. If flower is a cuss word, then someone typing  "you are a flow er" should be blocked from chatting for a while.

 

5. Make reporting easier

 

Uploading screenshots to the forum is fine, but it takes too long. Surely Tanki has chat logs stored on a server somewhere. 

 

6. Penalty Box, like in Hockey! 

 

Put tanks in a penalty box... dont just disable chat, disable their tank!

When I became an admin, there were only 6-7 of us. Now, we're 20+ and growing. We would have even more mods, but a lot of them had to resign due to real life issues - studies, a job, migration to a new home, taking care of their family, health problems etc. It's not an easy task to be a moderator so please be patient and give us some support, because we are doing our best to help the community...

You will find, when you get to 30 and beyond, that nothing really changes mentally.

 

You are the same person at 30, 40, 50, 60 etc., as you were when you were a kid or teenager - you just look older, that's all!   :P

 

Gaming is just another form of entertainment, like watching TV, and is a great way to escape and relax for a while from the daily grind of life's responsibilities IMO. Sometimes the simpler the game, the more relaxing it is.

And this is true, just look at the list of moderators, many of them are from around India.
