Improve Isida function

I think that at the moment Isida is too easy to play with. You can simply sit at your base behind some fat Shaft on Mammoth and heal them as they are damaged, getting easy points for not much effort. This also conflicts with Isida's concept of nanobots - the gun sends the microscopic bots to disassemble another tank and transfer its material along the beam of fix your own tank. If the Isida sits behind a team-mate the whole time and heals them, where does the infinite matter come from?!

 

My idea is that Isida will have two "reload" bars - one for charge and one for matter. It will spawn with full charge and matter. the Isida can then use the full bar of matter to heal a teammate (the charge doesn't get used), or use the charge bar to attack an enemy (the matter bar remains unchanged during the initial attack). Once the Isida uses up it's matter bar (or a portion of it) to heal a teammate, it won't magically recharge - you have to attack an enemy to get the matter back with a 1:1 or higher ratio (for one full bar of charge you can fill one empty bar of matter). Once you do that, you will have no charge to attack, but you will also have a full bar of matter to use on your teammate, so you can heal your allies while waiting for the charge bar to be full again and then attack again, because with my concept the charge bar does not get used up while healing an teammate.

 

This will make Isida's concept more fitting to the way the actual gun works and it will make the gun more difficult to use, increasing skill level and therefore respect for Isida users. No more cheaty power-levelers sitting behind a camper and healing them every time they get hit. No more indestructible Mammoths with three Isidas infinitely healing them from the back. Such a change will totally improve Isida and make it a much more fair and interesting gun to play with.

You know all hell is going to break loose when there are Mammoth Isidas sitting behind Mammoth Shredders keeping them from overheating since the new gun has infinite ammo. :)

Just a guess. I picked "Hammer" and was a bit surprised it got picked.

 

Great idea most isdas i see just wander around healing nonstop and never die and get a ton of crystals

I actually spend 50% of my time attacking and 50% healing - it depends.

 

If there's another Isida I am more likely to attack, cap, or find the other flag carrier than simply just heal.

Since turrets seem to reflect how the gun works I would not be surprised to see that as one of the choices.

 

The concept of "stealing" health from other tanks in order to repair your own team makes sense - but - in exchange either the Isida's ray must be extended to give more range, or, be quicker.

 

I have always thought of Isida as being like a vampire so the concept of taking from the enemy to heal your friends makes sense.

this is a perfect idea. All you see now a days is a mammoth not being killed because they are being healed form garage supplies and by an isida or multiple isidas.this will make isida more of a short range weapon than just a team battle weapon.

How about Twins?

Railgun? Shaft? Thunder? Machine gun? Where do all those ammo come from! It doesn't make any sense!!?!?!?!?!

 

Lol. Eh. Isida's pretty fine how it is. If the Isida is hiding behind a Mammoth, are you seriously just going to charge the Mammoth straight on?

Use some strategy please.

And take into consideration that when the Isida is healing full time, he's not attacking full time or scouting the other areas.

For example in a CTF, you don't need to kill him to win. Run off with the flag.

 

I wouldn't call your idea an improvement. It's a restriction.

And if this were to happen, then it should be buffed in stats.

That's a good point actually. There should totally be a limit on ammo added for all guns. Players would LOVE that change!  :ph34r:

Tanki is not  meant to be realistic if you want a realistic tank game WoT ftw 

Isida is still too easy to play with at the moment, IMHO.

I agree, But I think this will be unfair to isida if you gonna do this maybe do it to all turrets, I think this will make the game look more and more the WOT

and how do you get back the ammo? die?

I was being sarcastic  :)  Limited ammo just wouldn't work for this game. I suggested it for Isida simply to make it a more respected turret on the battlefield.

the reason you gave for not liking isida was that it was to easy to play with. the fix that (you said) would be to simply make it harder to keep healing and healing. this would make isida worse. the point of isida is to heal. what should happen is isdas self healing goes and the rest stays thesame. nothing in this topicsuggest makimg isda more a skill weapon. it just suggests that isda gets worse. note that this isnt a downvote its mostly a question of why you complained about something and then suggested a fix for something else

the "XP" isnt free right now because you have to sacrifice charge to heal. this makes it easy to die. isdas only hide behind mammoths when they happen to be there. they dont sit behind it all game.  A proper isda player will do a little of both (healing dfending attack midfielding). If isida was so easy to get score then everybody would use it. you said the skill would be balancing the gameplay between healing and attacking.  there is one map that attacking is very hard in and just quickly gaining some matter would be impossible. it doesnt matter if some guns are easy to use... firebird and freeze are.. it matters whether they are overpowered

Interesting subject MAFIOZA121. I like how you took some time to think of the subject and execution of it. Great job. I'm going to keep a close eye on this topic - it could cause a bit of fuss every now and then. Just keep calm and forum on! ( Best Tanki forum joke I have )
