New auto-aim mechanism

Recommended Posts

I suggest we get an option to turn that new mechanism off. Or at least, make the impact lower.

In modes like XP/BP there are many more flips, perhaps x2 or more than before. It is not very fun seeing one person flipped one after the other and self destructing.

Thanks.

That's the way aiming will work from now on. You just have to get used to the new system...

Yeah right, XP now seems like a flip-o-rama. You cannot get "used to" the increased flipping. Plus with losing score, kills and deaths thats terrible for your income and a waste of time self destructing. I simply am asking for an option to turn it off if they wish to keep it.

no in my opinion lets keep the auto aim system, to me its more fun to flip peoples tanks over and over again  . it dose also make more sense to me that the turret is not an invisible object because the bullets just go through the turret, the only weapon back then that can actually hit it was shaft, now it make the game more realistic like  :)

For me it was not much of a problem being a veteran of Wasp.

Its small, short shape allows me to dodge Railguns, or avoid being in the open much with my high speed.

And if I do have to go head to head with a high-impact gun, I either dodge or brace it in the front of my hull.

I'm not sure if this can be easily done with Hornet however, with its elongated shape. I mean, I had tons of fun using Railgun/Mammoth combination.

It's almost like the old days. Why kill druggers when they can flip them? I flipped an M3 Hornet with my M2 Railgun (Non MU'd) soooo many times in this one match.

Is this broken? Maybe. . . .I mean, if this realistic? In my opinion not really.

In the tunnel leading upwards in the map Noise, one shot of my M2 Railgun could raise an M2 Titan on its hind wheels. LOL.

I was so surprised. In real life, the turret, if shot with such force, would be blown off, instead of the hull being stuck to it forever would it not?

I agree with Extreme Tank. They can possibly lessen the amount of force given to the turret.

Either that or I'll agree with RustyNail, to take out the Self-destruction penalty.

Maybe the SD-Penalty can be toggled on or off?

If it's staying the same, then I'm definitely switching to Railgun as my new weapon. :D

Today I almost flipped over a mammoth M1 and Thunder M2 with just 2 Railgun shots. I decided to play around with my Rico M1 for a while, I never use it but I just felt like it now, I was playing CTF on Silence when a Hornet + Rail came along, shot me once then drugged up speed. His side was fully exposed so I started shooting. The Rico shots rapidly hit his turret causing him to flip over, the funny thing in all this was that once he was flipped I was still shooting which means he flipped TWICE. Maybe a bit too powerful Rico knockback?

Here is my Feedback.

It was posted in another topic, so I just copied it over here.

Realism?  I hope your being sarcastic. Flipping tanks is far form real, then again not much is realistic in Tanki. Tanks are big and heavy and certainly not flip-able.  The target age for this game is getting lower all the time, and therefore the skill required to play it is getting lower as well. That is probably why they added an improved auto aim, to make it easier for the little kids. They would think the flipping is cool too, I guess.

It seems to me Tanki has a big problem with being able to properly test things. I've said it many times already, the test severs are not an accurate place to test how updates will effect regular game play on regular servers. People's goals and focus change on the test servers, because they are not real accounts and crystals don't matter.
It only took dishonest players a few hours to figure out how to use this "flipping" to ruin game play for others.
As many already know mults and saboteurs are a huge problem, and for some reason the Devs refuse to acknowledge it. This update has only given these types of players a new tool for ruining games, and this is exactly the type of thing that doesn't get exposed on the test servers. When tanki held "the experiment" about the crystal boxes, I thought great the Devs finally figured out the right way to test new potential updates, and then this completely unannounced, undiscussed, update sneaks in with the Hammer introduction. It kinda makes me wonder, why now and why at all? Does it have something to due with Hammer?  If it does I'd gladly give up hammer to get rid of this STUPID flipping.
I agree the targeting of turrets was needed, but did it have to come with the side effect of flipping? I actually don't like to flip people with a shot, I prefer to out play them and get the kill. It's more satisfying and when I flip them it almost feels like I cheated. I'm sure a lot of the XP/BP players feel the same way. Most XP/BP players play this format for the skill not dumb blind luck.

It is even farther from realistic then it already was, tanks are not supposed to be flipped. I suspect that because they added the effect of impact to turrets and turrets have no weight, when they get hit they are just getting blown away and dragging the hull with it. They should be able to remove the impact effect and leave the damage,if they wanted to.  "More dynamic" most mean more cartoon like.

I would like to say that I am grateful and admire what the Devs have created for us. It is amazing that the game is as good as it is and still free and still browser based. Hats off to them, however sometimes their ideas don't make sense. And flipping tanks is one of them. Sorry!

If we are looking for realism, shouldn't the damage we receive affect our tank progressively. For example first bit of damage slow your speed, the next slows the turret, and finally your firing rate. This is just an idea it could be random or different order. Maybe I'll start one of my topics in the ideas section. B)

As a dedicated wasp-user I am really disappointed about this auto-aim update.

On one account my turret is freeze, and I am (was?) mostly an offensive player, a flag-caper.

But now, if I get hit by a railer from the front, I will land on my back, if I get hit by any gun sideways, I will flip, and only sometimes land on my wheels again, often only to be killed shortly afterwards because I allready should have moved out of the open.

On my wasp-rail account, the fun has decreased as well. Many times I flip because of the enemy, as well as because of my team-mates, who try to shoot through me to hit the enemy.

My succes on the battle field now depends too much on the skills of my team-mates and just on luck: will I land on my wheels (and be able to hide on time for the next shot) or not.

Sooo much less fun with wasp now, I wonder if it will remain my favorite hull.

I had to give up my wasp and therefore change my future plans. I just wanted to mention this flipping has effected good clan play as well. We, as a clan, have certain whys of playing and now we wil need to rethink those as well. For one, we  have lost our "medic", who built his career on wasp isdia, and now that career is over. I think he has left tanki for good now. :( Sad, he was the best healer I or any of our clan has ever seen.

ERMAHGERD guys, calm down about the flipping.
I'm not sure if they said it on the English forum, but in the Russian discussion of the new update one of the developers said that they are working on the tank physics, improving them to reduce the flipping side effect from the new aim mechanics. There will most definitely be changes - you just need to wait.
