In some browsers you can, like in Opera. And some you can't, like in Google Chrome.

This should be made for everyone, regardless of what browser you use, since not many browsers would allow you to do this. (I did not know that Opera could do such a thing)

Or just have this:

Post this inside chat (RU1 and .ru)

Russian Player: здравствуйте

To english player (RU1 and .en)
Russian Player: здравствуйте (Hello) or just (Hello)
English Player: How are you?

Back to russian player:
English Player: How are you? ( Как дела?) or Как дела?

*Translate by google.

Got the point?
Basically if you are in RU1 .en then russian players chats automatic gets translated or it shows original with (translated in brackets)

if you in RU1 .ru then english words translated to russians (ofc person who chat in english)
Same with other communities ;)

The idea of copy and pasting can lead to other problems such as fooling newbies that s/he can buy him crytals through  xyz site and gets his/her nickname and passowor

Then monitoring will be double then now, cus who knows what going on in every battle's chat.

Don't see how the password stealing issue would go up, since they are not usually that long. Anyway, I feel in-game translation would take more work than being able to copy something from the in-game chat. Plus being able to figure out what the russians (and others) are saying is not the only benefit of this, as its also for copying long links (Ex: For forum) and long messages.

I Like This Idea And I Have Another Idea Too .
Translation Inside The Game .
If The Language Is Russian , It Will Show As English .
When We Reply Messages , It Will Show As Russian To The Sent Member .
And Settings Are Custom We Can Select Any Language .

Problem is, Tanki will have to create their own translation matrix or pay to use someone elses'. Either option will be costly.

Also, any language won't show up correctly translated like that.

Obviously even Google Translate is not always accurate, but its alright.

Because I dislike the moment when you have a team full of russians and they are talking and talking, but you cannot figure out what they are saying.

Of course this would not be the only purpose of it, but it would be an essential purpose.

Awesome because sometimes I want to know what Russians say about me but I can only make out a few words (I know a bit of Russian because of my mom). Copying and pasting it into Google Translate is perfect! Also just for regular copying words. But did you consider adding that links posted in chat should be click-able?

Great idea.

Thanks. Yeah, that would be nice too. I assume it would be added as well but i'll add that to the OP.

No. The reason I say that is because some alternate could go into a battle and just spam bad links, links that are malicious, inappropriate, or fraud in nature. I don't mind the copying idea, but this idea presents a problem.

Sorry to say......

You may or may have not noticed. But Tanki does currently block links to inappropriate sites. Just like it does for a lot of profanity words, even like the word i.diot is blocked in the game and the forum.

I know they don't block links, I'm saying that not being able to click on link directly has forced those spammers to use server chat, where they are more easily dealt with.

But with links turned on, they can enter a battle and spam links to bad websites.......

So make the 'bad' website links blocked out and non-clickable. Simple solution. :)

But how will Tanki know what websites are bad? ;)

There are literally millions.

How do they know now?

What do you mean? They don't. (Unless a Moderator visits the page manually.)

And there aren't always Moderators around to keep watch. I thought you were talking about an automated system that automatically blocks bad links.

Notice that it is a popular website......I'm not sure how the copyright stuff goes, but I think it's on purpose.....

Nice idea but there is one problem ... hackers. in game chat is not moderated like public chat , most of tanki audience are in the age of 11-13 so a hacker can type a link that defeats the links censorship system and comvince kids to copy it and infect there pc with whatever the hacker wants it will give tanki a bad name. i think this is the reason why we don't have this system in the first place.
