ProPass: a possible solution

I agree and upvoted the idea, besides I've written about it in different posts for some time now.

However, I'd like to be realistic and thus I think that the lowest price for Pro Pass could be around 300-400 crystals, not around 50 crystals.

I mean, there are 30 ranks but during the first 3-4 ranks the players just start to understand what TO is about, Pro battles are rather complicated issue for these ones.

Practically, before Staff Sergeant or Master Sergeant Pro battles don't mean much, isn't it so? If yes, no need for lowest-ranks to complicate their game more with Pro battles.

5,000 crystals = around $3.50 to purchase...

+ 1,000 bonus crystals thrown in.

Double if you buy with a x2 card.

I mean... That really gonna break anyone's bank..?

All the effort required of the Dev's... All the changes required to be tested... All the inevitable complaints if/when things change...

Because some players can't stretch to a few pounds/euros/dollars..?

3.5$ per month... All tankers are not rich. Also take into account that most of the players are young kids and their parents will not allow them to buy virtual money online.

Also the equivalent currency in other countries is high.

It's roughly the cost of two cans of soda/soft drink.

Two bars of chocolate/candy maybe...

But to be honest, I don't hear many actual children complaining about Pro-Pass costs... Seems to be more in the 14 - 25 year old range...

And if they can't scrape a few bucks together to pay for a Pro-Pass, then they have no business complaining about how much a Pro-Pass costs.

You would be more than right if Pro Pass was the only cost of Tanki.

But it isn't.

An average player can't proceed without spending real money for upgrades and even supplies, sooner or later, do you agree with that?

If yes, then for senior ranks the cost of 5000 crystls per month is too high. I mean, they are going to spend those 3 or 5 $ / euros in buying a paint or an upgrade or a new tank. They WILL spend those money, but in another area. So if they have to give every month these 5000 crystals, that means that the average player is a standard fee paying player.

Seeing this from another angle, imagine 50.000 players paying 5 euros per month to Tanki (just for Pro Pass)... How much is it? PER MONTH.

Well, you can se the big picture...

So if they have to give every month these 5000 crystals, that means that the average player is a standard fee paying player.

But they don't/won't have to pay that every month.

It's a matter of personal choice, isn't it?

If you find the conditions/dynamics in non-ProPass games to be sufferable/entertaining/quite fun actually... Then you don't need to buy a Pro-Pass.

It's only the people who are whining about all the things that are wrong with non-ProPass games that should stump up.

And the argument seems to be that Pro-Pass Games are a Paradise on Earth: free from all of the faults and constraints of non-Pro-Pass Games, players will immediately start earning 2x, 5x, 10x the amount of crystals they were managing to earn whilst playing against all of those druggers and noobs...

So they will easily be able to generate 5,000 additional crystals with which to buy next month's pass. Probably manage to do that just in the first game they play that doesn't have any druggers in it, I should imagine...

*OR*, chances are they'll find something else to complain about in the ProPass games, and then not bother buying a pass month-after-month...

Either way, I don't think a $3.50 Pro-Pass will end up being a regular monthly drain on their resources.

Not really. I mean, yes, but it's either one buys continuously Pro Pass or one doesn't buy it at all. What's the point to get a Pro Pass only 4 months per year (for example)?

If you find the conditions/dynamics in non-ProPass games to be sufferable/entertaining/quite fun actually... Then you don't need to buy a Pro-Pass.

It's only the people who are whining about all the things that are wrong with non-ProPass games that should stump up.

Again, not really. Tanki has silently yet constantly promoted Pro Pass via certain unpopular updates that can be canceled in Pro battles, therefore influensing players into using as standard a pro pass. For high ranks it's no big deal, but low ranks face a lot of expenses in buying and upgrading tanks and paints, let alone supplies and now Pro pass.... Hence, this topic.

I notice you take a lot for granted, regarding people's motives into buying a Pro Pass. You seem to understand their expectations. Me, on the other hand, I'm not so sure why each one would decide to get a Pro pass and what one expects to find in Pro battles.

*OR*, chances are they'll find something else to complain about in the ProPass games, and then not bother buying a pass month-after-month...

Either way, I don't think a $3.50 Pro-Pass will end up being a regular monthly drain on their resources.

Last but not least, keep in mind that $3.50 on a monthly basis is not the same for people around the world. Some use dollars, some use pounds, some euros. Even those that use same currency may not value the mentioned currency the same. For some, it's a ridiculous amount, not worth mentioning. Fot others, that may not be the case.

Hmm... Well, in order to avoid getting too iterative, I will try and summarise:

People who are dissatisfied with the "Free to Play" version of the Game would like to see the facilities available in "Pro-Pass" Games made available to them...

For free... Or at much/progressively less than $3.50 a month.

People who are quite happy with the "Free to Play" version of the Game don't want to buy a "Pro-Pass", and won't have to pay $3.50 a month (or local currency equivalent).

My point (and I thought it was a brilliant one...  :P ) is this:

People who are complaining about the non-Pro-Pass games are complaining primarily because "druggers" and others are preventing them from winning crystals.

So an initial one-off investment in a Pro-Pass should see them easily increase their monthly Crystal earnings by at least 5k... Shouldn't it?

If not... What then do they imagine they will gain from having a Pro-Pass?

I agree so much with this, I think its unfair that the price is too expensive for low ranks, I Personally agree with the hole system you have created and wish to see this implemented towards the future,Because I'm sick off paying 5k For a pro pass when sales as good as 50% don't come around to much,I rarely buy pro battle passes on sales but if this is implemented I would be buying them every month.

I think this is a wonderful idea, however perhaps it would be better for it to progress in five rank blocks. This would make the system more fluid.

Ya know:

Ranks

1-5 - 500

6-10 - 1,000

11-15 - 2,000

16-20 - 3,000

20-25 4,000

26-30 5,000

Thanks Hazel-Rah, for this very good and clear post, that gets to the point (including the measures you take to keep it "balanced" in terms of "not too much of it).

Why does power sell good?

I think it is because:

- it is a good feeling to have power

- you earn crystals and experiance points faster -> faster rankup -> more weapons -> even more power

The people complaining here start to miss something: FUN.

It's just 3 letters.. but fun is maybe the most important thing about a game you invest your personal time in.

In fact the ratio of "fun per time and money spend here" is the key for playing here.. and not to search for another game.

Sell fun to them

Good thing is you can sell fun to those people via the pro-pass. You just have to make sure, more are using it.

Many players complain about druggers.. and when I ask them if they have a pro-pass, next to all tell me: I have/had one, but there are too few pro battles. So if you Tanki could talk to your marketing department to think of ideas how to make going pro-pass more common.. you would catch two flys with one strike.

Some ideas to start off with:

(no need to pick all at once)

  • adapt the pro pass price acording to the rank of a tanker (cheaper for lower ranks, a little higher for higher ranks)
  • create more default pro-battles on the servers with supplies off, autobalance on, microupgrades on, CFT on the most favorite maps.
  • If a pro battle of a type is filled up.. auto-create an other one
  • include free _weekly_ pro passes in the daily gift section
  • give 10% more experienace for pro battles (on top of ev. purchased experiance multiplyer passes)
  • increase the daily gift for pro pass owners by 10%
  • give them access to special kits
  • have special weekends, wehere in pro battles players have 1,1x..1,5x battle fund for a day
  • and finally: make some true advertisement for it

You have a capable marketing department. I bet they can think of much more.

thanks,

Rohr'

I can understand that at low rank pro pass is not affordable. So crystal cost for pro pass as ranks:~

 - 1-10    rank         :2000

- 11-20  rank         :3500

- 21-30  rank         :5000

Pro Battles allows you to create battles with extra settings. It Enables/Disables supplies, bonus boxes and smart cool-downs, Enables/Disables Micro Upgrades, smart supplies, Enables/ Disables Weapon change in battle, you can manage Time limit and Destroy limit too. Its upto you what kind of gameplay you like, i like pro battles  :)

Me too,but I gone bankrupt

And cant even have crystals to stay playing well
