New Year Resolution - For Tanki

to all players, moderaters, and developers.

 

It has come to the time we make some planning for changes for the next year.

It has been another busy year for TO and I have no mean to bother the developers with any impossible requests. If you (moderators, and developers) feel that some of my ideas are crazy or inappropriate, please ignore it. I have a list of 3 things that the developers could probably change or add.

 

1. In-match chat system

2. Lag Banner

3. Language Control

 

1. I know that I love talking. And I know that many people also love talking. However do you want to type up a person's name everytime you talk? I know I wouldn't. In the lobby, they system is perfect. You can talk to everyone or an individual. However, when you go to battle, you can only switch between team chat and talk to everyone.

Here is my story:

I was saying "good job" to person 1 and "stop drugging" to person 2. However, person 1 thought I was saying stop drugging to him. So he said " I don't have them and I don't use them." and left. This is a bad misunderstanding.

Perhaps Tanki could add a third section to the battle chat. A section where you can choose who you want to chat with. Just click on that person's name and type your message.

This can eliminate a lot of misunderstanding and confusion.

 

2. I live in North America and the servers are in Europe. It is impossible for my PING to get under 50. My average PING is 100 which is acceptable. However, at times, my PING do get over 400. This is when lag comes in. When we play we are not going to stare at the FPS and PING numbers unless we are lagging. So I suggest that Tanki add a banner saying "You are currently disconnected from the Server", "Waiting for better Connection" or "Lag Alert", just like "Gold Box Will be Dropped Soon". I do not want to run around seing everyone running into the walls or running in circles. And I don't want to fire 100 smoky shots and be unable to kill anyone. It wasts the slot in my team. Sometimes one person's actions can determin who wins the battle.

 

Another glitch I found is that some time I can't spaun. It doesn't happen often, but I know it happens to other players as well. I don't know if it is lag or it is some hacker. But I just put it here.

 

I was playing MassacreCTF for about 15 min and my PING was amazingly 60. :)

I was having a great time becuse I was winning.

And then it happened:

I was blown up by a rail gun and I can't spawn anymore.

My screen went to my sqaun ground but no tank came out.

I pressed the WASD and <> keys a couple of times, but it didn't work. :(

Then I tried zxc and UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT controls. But the result was the same. :angry:

So I decided that I will reload the page.

I like that when you reload the page and relog in, you are put right back to your battle. (I love this :P )

 

As soon as I reentered the game my tank spawned :blink:

I am confused.

Please fix this error.

I know that Tanki filters out the "bad words" such as the f-word. I know that when people get very angry or tense, they tend to swear. I swear too when I am angry. But thatis not a problem. People would just say " calm down, its just a game"

 

But I have seen some very different situations lately. I have played this game for 3 (almost 4) years and I have yet found such two dirty situation.

 

I will be saying exactly what those people said. I will not give out the names.

I believe that Tanki should add this system that filters out sentences. It should filter out dirty ideas just like sentence (1) and (2).

 

I congradulate anyone who has read until here. You have read all my thoughts about what should be changed for this game.

I believe that the last suggestion should be prioritized becuase if it isn't the game rating may change. I can personally help in the process of eliminating dirty themes but there are still situations where me and moderators and reach. Therefore we should create a program. If you (developers) don't have time to do this program.PM me and I can personally write the code for you (since you are my favourite game).

Easy problem, easy solution. Type "@NICKNAME GOES HERE" and then the message.

If a player's name is long or confusing, just "Ctrl+Left click with your mouse" on his name, then go to the chat and use the command "Ctrl+V" to paste his nickname.

Why is it so hard to move your eye just a bit to take a peak on your PING?

That isn't a glitch, it's lag.

 

 

 

As for your 3rd suggestion. I understand your intentions and I know they aren't bad, but rules are rules. If you break them (even with honest and nice intentions), you are still breaking them.

 

But! As I see, you understand that it isn't nice to post such offensive words, so you are off the hook, this time only! Do not do this again.

Tanki are working on censoring more words and it is in progress :)
