Interesting fact:

Even with critical hits, smoky only does max ~43 damage per second.

Thunder does a consistent 40 damage per second and at a far better range.

Splash is such a useful quality in my opinion, much more useful than smokys Impact force. Though smokys impact is good, it doesn't let you double or tipple your damage, hit a huge range of places, and not to mention thunders impact when upgraded is not bad at all.

Thunder also does more damage per shot, so gains more out of the 'free first shot'

I would suggest thunder to those struggling to decide between the two.

I do thunder for drug battle and smoky for pro :D

I think this is the best conclusion. At m4, due to my above explanation I strongly prefer thunder in most situations. But at base m3, thunder is inferior imo.

Thunder improves a ridiculous amount from m3 to m4

I have to agree with Kirby. Thunder is the all around better of the two. With its consistent heavy damage, splash capabilities, longer range, and affordable price (for newbies), Thunder > Smokey.

Impact force? With skill you can knock off a Railgun's shot with Thunder just as easily as with Smokey. Critical shot? I'd rather have a fixed strong firing rate than an unpredictable high powered blast, which with my luck would never happen at the right time anyway.

I like Smoky, because the amount of Rustles is increasing a lot :O

Like one paint is going to affect the difference between these two turrets :p

To be fair, the paints really do affect the game balance a LOT. The number of prodigies and clays vs. Savannas and needles wioo determine whether smoky or thunder is the better gun. As is the case for any other turret.

Yes that's true, but I believe in this case the entire topic, or at least my post, is focusing on turret versus turret, without paints being involved.

witch one is beter with manny for camping?

Both. Depends on type of map:

  • For larger maps - Thunder
  • For smaller maps - Smoky
  • For maps with open spaces and a lot of room to move around - Smoky
  • For maps with "bottlenecks" or areas where enemies tend to group up - Thunder

Thunder has a longer effective range than Smoky...
