Feature: Battles with obvious outcome will end sooner

I will keep saying this until Semyon takes this into consideration. Some people want the crystal boxes back, other people want the value added to the battle fund. I have a solution that will hopefully satisfy everyone. My idea is that we can have this option when we create the battle. what does everyone think?

You need to do this with players (mults). Those players who do not play properly cant get a normal amount of points. Give them a timer, telling them that they are not performing up to the task and are not helping the team, so if they dont step up, they will get kicked from the battle (maybe additional button for the team members to vote him out if they want, or keep them if they dont). This is because i see lots of battles with one team having full gissmo squad, and the other one having warrant officers or other low ranked players.

Since the battle ends earlier,what about the rest of the fund that can be accumulated without the special timer??

If the losing team completely quits the battle fund no longer increases!

 

Why wait 15 more minutes when you know nobody is going to show up?

There is never an obvious outcome for a battle. I've had battles where the enemy is 2 flags from winning but my team will make a comeback, especially on small maps like ping-pong and hill.

We aren't talking about a 2 flag difference - when the difference is 10 or more rarely does a team come back from that.

 

By that time the losing team is dropping players and the winners are capping flags unopposed and then spawn camping for easy kills.

 

When the winning team is doing nothing but spawn camping and blowing up the losing team it is a form of cheating - running up the battle fund by NOT FIGHTING FAIRLY.

 

When this happens the outcome is obvious - so why let it continue?

 

This update puts an end to this.

I just played CTF (non-pro). One team was winning 14:1 well before the end of the game, so clearly more than 10x better score than the other team, but there was no timer anyway. Why?

It is based on team score - the sum of team scores for each player caused by kills and flag captures and returns - not the CTF flag score.

 

It is possible that the losing team still has high scores overall but very low flag capture. I have seen losing teams with high team scores before but they still lost.

make a button for that make a buttong for that, man stahp makeing buttons already some newbies i suggest the game think this game is messing their brain will all the buttons even i find difficult to recognise the bloody signals.

Here is an idea for an update: :excl:

Let the points awarded be inversely proportionate to the size of the teams. So that 

if a team of 9 is playing against a team of 4 (13 players),

let the team of 4 get 9/13 of the points   and

let the team of 9 get 4/13 of the points

This will encourage losing players to keep playing on. :)

 

If the Tanki programmers are interested, I can help with the math.

Well... thechnicaly there is such a button. The DELETE :D

 

If your entire team decided to surrender you need to "vote" by selfdestructing few times in a row. Your score wll go down and trigger conditions will be met.

Interesting. Can you elaborate?

 

Are there other "tricks" that we might want to know?

At Last! Thank you Tanki for bringing this update eveytime well sometimes i come first and battles, And other newbies leave cuz they loose so then i have to stay there for like 60min for fund and i have too leave caus im busy with somethin so thx Tanki  :tank:  :fire_r:  :fire_l:  :wub:  :rolleyes:  :rolleyes:  B)  ^_^

When you self destruct you lose 5 points. If your entire team does this the overall team score drops - thus triggering the conditions needed for the early end of battle.

I like this update .... its just a shame that players can not play fair ..... if you are clearly winning then you stop capturing flags ..... if you outnumber the opposition like 3 vs 1 than only one member of the team fights ... good manners which are sadly lacking from many tankers.

In the few minutes it takes to do that, you are better off leaving the battle and joining a winning side somewhere else. You'd have collected more crystals than what you would have if you brought your score down near zero and had to wate for a few more minutes for the timer to detonate.

 

Why don't you look at the statistics and see how much of the problem this update fixed? (You need to define the problem first, it is not what you set out to solve.)
