Friends list should override rank settings in battle

Recently one of the updates narrowed the ranks that can play together in a battle.

 

Because of this update I am no longer able to play with many friends due to their ranks no longer being high enough to match mine.

 

I suggest a way around this: if someone is in your friends list and their rank prevents you from joining their battle the normal way then an invite should override this setting.

 

This would only work for invites and once you complete the battle and quit you can no longer rejoin the battle unless your friend reinvites you.

 

Last night I wanted to play with a friend - he is only one rank below me (Captain) and prior to the recent update it would have not been a problem.

 

But, since the battle he was in did not allow Majors I could not join.

 

If he could have sent me an invite and there was an open spot on his team I should have been able to join.

 

An invite-only system would solve this.

 

This would also allow me to play with my son again.

Recruits can't battle with G in the first place.

you just said invites override rank. if that happened a recruit could easily get a generalissimo in theyre game

One would have to be friends first and battles that don't match your rank aren't visible - I doubt many recruits start off as the same level as another recruit and one person remains recruit while the other ranks to G.

 

In my friends list there is nobody below the rank of WO1.

 

Still, I think the purpose is to create friends online who can play together so I really doubt a G is going to accept many people of low rank as friends.

Legoracer just sent a very similar idea for those he invites... Limit the equipment used to the levels appropriate to lower ranked friends/invites. Then a Generalissimo could fairly stand beside a friend in battles.

Well, it can still happen, I have a couple friends who are near marshal, would it be fair, if I invited them to a match in which I was losing, so they could destroy the enemy team? I think that if this should be implemented, it should have at least some restrictions. For example, XYROTO said, limit the equipment used. Although, I think you'd also have to have a limit to the rank you can invite to said battle. A Gen in a match with lieutenants, is bound to make the opposing team quite discouraged. Perhaps a limit to how much this system would work, for example, 3 or 4 ranks above only?

There should be some way to make it work - limiting the kinds of equipment might be possible.

 

Obviously you don't want M3 competing with M0 in a battle.
