Muzzle Brakes, Arrestors, or Enhancements

Recommended Posts

I don't know how feasible this is and I would not be surprised if it had not been suggested, but, I suggest a new garage item: muzzle brakes, arrestors, or enhancements.

They would have specific purposes for each turret and you could enable them by going to the garage in battle but if you want to take it off you would have to switch to another turret and wait for the battle to end first (no taking on and off during battle.

For example:

Freeze and Firebird: the item would cause the napalm and freezing effects to spread out over a wider area. The downside would be distance is reduced.

Isida: longer electrodes would be on the turret which would increase the distance of the beam, but, reduce the cone of effectiveness.

Shaft and railgun: like a true muzzle brake: the item reduces recoil and makes longer shots better at the expense of reduced power at close range.

Smoky and Thunder: extends the barrel somewhat to give more range but increases reload time due to the time for the turret to vent.

Twins: a pair of extenders that increase your range by making the balls of energy slightly larger but decrease firing rate.

There was a concept similar to this called "modules". The modules could be bought separately and they enhanced certain characteristics of your gun or hull. Those were planned for the mythical "Tanki Online 2.0", but that project was scrapped and so were the "modules". i think that eventually the idea of purchasing individual items to install on your tank and improve its performance evolved into micro-upgrades, which are now in the game. The enhancements you described above have pretty much the same function as micro-upgrades, so they won't be added to the game in the form you described.

Well, MU seem to be more about increasing power, range, or protection - the idea I presented only alters how that power is utilized since these ideas don't necessarily make a turret stronger.
