Hover Tank

i think it shold be fast like wasp fast but the problem is STOPPING. and changing directions. since you are basicly on an air hockey table 24/7 you slide around a lot. wether it be intentional or not. when you first start using it you will smash into things alot. but the more you use it the better you become at driving the more dangerous it becomes. also it is heavly affected by recoil. and impact forces. a well aimed thunder shot will throw you into a tailspin. its biggest threat is smoky espesicly with the assault rounds mod.


Yeah, good point, since the game has a bunch of super unrealistic stuff like black fire.

accuacly thats a thing and its really cool.

Hovercraft-like hull. The idea has been going around the office for a while. Will most likely be added at some point in the future. Only problem at the moment is that it doesn't fit in with the other hulls, so if this is added, then all other hulls will also need to be unique in very specific ways.

I really like the hover tank suggestion. I am so glad that developers started development on this hull. I have seen this suggestion a few years ago but developers never though or even mention about it to add it to Tanki Online.

How can it step on mines if it floats???

Generally tanks have tracks not legs, so I would question whether any of the tanks step on the mines.

Actually he did it pretty badly. He just had a picture of a tank that hovers.

The hover hull is called "Ares", just to remind you. I can't wait until this new hull is released. Please can you discuss the progress about the new hover hull in the upcoming V-Logs.

The good thing about the hover hull is that you would never be able to step on mines. Also, one day, if there are maps with water, it means that the hover hulls will behave like an hovercraft meaning that it will never sink. Hulls with track would actually sink like a sinking ship.

 

By the way, i would like to see newly large designed maps with water.

 

What I would suggest is to have new maps designed with different environments. Different environments would consist of the following:

 

1. Thick ice and snow.

 

2. Thick grasslands.

 

3. Savannahs.

 

4. Sand dune deserts.

 

5. Seas and Oceans.

 

6. Volcanoes and volcanic eruptions, plus flowing lava.

 

7. Seasons, spring, summer, autumn winter.

 

8. Different gravity levels. Moon, Mars, Super Earth.

 

9. Underground, mine shafts and underground terrain and chambers.

 

10. Animated maps. Maps that have moving parts like opening bridges, garage doors, raising and lowering sea levels, and so on.

Now with the new HTML5 version of Tanki Online, there as so many, many possibilities to create brand new maps with many different environments, and map props. The possibilities for the new HTML5 version of Tanki Online are endless.

 

By the way, Tanki Online has only 7 hulls at the moment. That is such a short number of hulls compared to how many turrets there are in Tanki Online, so Tanki Online is short of three hulls. To be good, Tanki Online needs at least another three new hulls. Please create at least three new hulls or more, so that there is more choices when choosing a particular hull for combat.

These remind me of map ideas that I drew back in 2014/15. One of my ideas was a volcano map that could set you on fire if you touched the lava, and another had toxic/radioactive waste that could slowly take away your health if you weren't careful.

The amount of downward force required to levitate a hover-tank would trigger any mines these things "flew" over.

 

Riddler - google EFV (formerly AAAV)

 

They said ares will still trigger mines. It doesn't hover that high.

Well, if Ares hovers like expected it should avoid mines.

Devs said no. Mine will be metal sensitive. A however will trigger them. Sorry, no escaping these pesky mine. Equip your tank with the Spider module.
