Polygon CP: A Choose your Own Adventure Story

(Each path has the same amount of words any way you go)

 

Start here

 

Just another day, just another battle, just another control point.  You join a Polygon CP in hopes of getting a share in the battle fund.  In the midst of red and blue notifications at the top of your screen a bright orange banner appears.

You choose to ignore the banner—Go to #1

You read the banner--Go to #2

You ignore the string of words at the top of your screen and see the chat box blowing up with “gold box”.  You realize what the bright orange notification was.

You decide to change your hull to dictator---Go to #5

You read the notification quickly. Your heart starts pounding and you feel the adrenaline flowing pumping through your body.  This is a rare opportunity to gain some much needed crystals.

There are some tanks that can seriously injure your tank.  Dying here and now is not an option.  Thank goodness you have a double armor, a Hammer shoots at you.  The Hammer shot stunts you into the air and you catch the gold box.  Congratulations!!

Your only priority is to find the drop zone.  However, as soon as you activate your double speed, you see a huge mass of tanks.  You scramble toward them, but you don’t have enough time to apply a double armor and a Hammer kills you.

Dictator has a major advantage in this situation.  You quickly realize this and change your gear.  What luck!  You spawn right next to the drop zone.  You are directly under the gold box when suddenly a hornet snags it in midair.  Better luck next time!

Undeniably clever. However, I would like to point out that...

 

...when including the instructions contained within the paths, the total word count is 176 words - significantly above the upper limit. I'd argue that they're really a central part of the story you've created, and that you'd therefore have an unfair advantage if these parts aren't included in the total word count.

No, you just misunderstood what he said. The total word count if you follow one path is 119 words, which does not include all the spoilers - a path includes the "Start here" spoiler (44 words), either spoiler 1 or 2 (30 words), and either spoiler 3, 4 or 5 (45 words).

 

Although I guess you could argue that the words under all the spoilers should be included in the total word count like you seem to be suggesting; I took issue with the non-inclusion of the 'instructions' in the total word count. Either way, the entry is really above the given word limit, which is unfortunate as it's my favourite thus far.

The goldbox notification just showed up. Finally! I have literally died 136 times for this. Those reds were too good. As soon as the notification came up, I quickly got out of my camp spot and started looking around. I immediately got murdered by a hammer. I respawned, drove forward, and saw the drop zone! I couldn't drug and stopped right at the drop zone, which probably isn't wise. The gold was falling incredibly slow and my teammates were trying to go to the zone, but I was in the way. That annoying thunder kept shooting me and I couldn't do anything. He killed me and I was in despair when I looked up and saw that I took it!

Awesome post man. But GoldRock did point out some flaws it seems. So you might want to fix that up.

Thanks for the feedback @@GoldRock and @.  I am in the process of revising it to fit the criteria, thanks for pointing these issues out.  I willl edit it so that the the directions can be included within the word count excluding the "Go to #" text

After the sign showed up, everyone rolled to the place where the sign appeared, stacking on each other while some were still roaming in the map searching the sign. Heavy tanks all approching leaving the control points alone. As soon as the Goldbox was falling from the sky, everyone started shooting each other making a big riot. The Smokey's shooting, Freezers freezing and Thunders shooting. As I was equipped with Dictator which has a good height gave me a great advantage. Pushing each other, getting crushed I managed to stay under the Goldbox as it was falling right upon me.The Goldbox touched my tank, and as soon as it touched and the Goldbox faded away a m3 Thunder shot me dead. It was a very lucky catch.

Me and my tank were peaceful. At one. Sniping from distances and getting the kills needed to assist my team-mates for the victory. However, my concentration was knocked off. I felt the wind change and the breeze had a chilling sting to it. I heard the siren, and I knew what was coming. I could not kill anyone, as I was frantically looking for the land zone. After I located the landing zone, I hid behind a wall, sniping my foes for a better chance on the catch. The gold appeared. A confident titan pushed in, but I had my considerable height. The pack of tankers devoured each other, as I snook in and stole the gold. The wind shifted back.

What do I see here? I see chaos, I see destruction, I see greed. But are they really the only things I see? Isn’t there something oblivious to my senses yet very much visible? Like the fast heartbeat of tank that died just now but collected a gold box, like the disappointment of tanks who tried killing him but were a second too late, like the smirks on the faces of blue hammers who were too far from prize but now near to prey or maybe the cluelessness of brown dictator who watched the happenings from afar. What do I see here? One thing I do see here is that 100 words are just too less to even grasp the entirety of this moment.

Gold Box 

 

 

It was on a day with 50 % sale. I wanted Hornet M3 , just needed 999 crystals more. I joined a match with 5 min left for sale end, but I had joined the losing side.

 

I was about to give up when the SIREN sounded ( :)) 

I rushed towards the Gold Box but i was damaged.I desperately pressed the "1" button but to my horror i had run out of Repair Kits. The Freeze in front of me was about to take it when I fired my Railgun (BOOM), killed him

 

I was very low on HP (if only I had a Repair Kit) and about to take it when the Thunder shot ( Died   :( )

I died , I thought I missed it but i got it  :D and thats how I got Hornet M3.

 

 

About 125 words (definitely not more than 130) :P

Polygon, an intense battle went along. Railgun + dictator was my combo. Enemies managed to capture the point A. A message appeared saying “gold box will be dropped soon”. I forgot about the control point and went after the gold drop zone, with that it dropped ‘1000 crystals’ sounds like it’s mine. Firebird + Viking, smoky + titan, hammer+ Viking, freeze + Viking, thunder + Viking also saw the drop zone. Friend or foe they didn’t matter as I raged my way to the gold box. I almost fainted as I took the gold box. I was destroyed but overjoyed with gold.

 I was a firebird + Viking in the blue team as enemy team just conquered the Control point. A shiver went down my spine, as the hair on the back of my head stood still. “Gold box will be dropped soon” the alarm went off. I fled to see the drop zone and there it dropped as the angel blessings it dropped. Just then a teammate used brute force to push others for the gold box, as other tanks with long faces were witnesses of a gold box catch. “I guess had a luck to at least give it a try”.

POLYGON BATTLE

When i was going to sleep I mistakely entered polygon battle where time was tickling against blue.But I tried my best with gold machine ie dictator with rail but in vain.When I was just going to exit I saw the orange words GOLD BOX WILL BE DROPPED SOON.I wanted that gold box as my 1000th box and 1000th specail video.I got the spot easily but I was surrounded by Hammer thunder titan firebird and freeze.20 seconds waiting was like waiting for ages.I couldn't press 1 because of nervousness.The hammer and thunder were shooting.I just said ALL IS WELL AND I got the box only just.I was in shock,couldnt believe so took screecshot and lokked it many times and posted it here :)

In this battle of the sovereign, dost thou wonder what the Gold Box actually represents, or is? According to Hazel-Rah, “It is game changer. No matter how much crystal there is, it changes players’ behavior on the battlefield. I believe there are a lot of players who just enjoy catching it.”

 

True to his word, the box’s prelude, a siren, alters the tankers’ view. From battle hardened veterans, to lost souls scouring Polygon craving for gold, they leave the capture point barren. As the gold box descends from the heavens, the struggle ensues. From anarchy, a Dictator rises, and oppresses all, as he takes the crown for himself. His name will not fade, as his triumph is embedded into history forever.

I had been playing Tanki All day and hadn't seen a single gold box the entire time even though the battle funds where nearing the hundred thousands but still no gold. When those bright orange words appeared on my screen I knew it my time to shine. Unfortunately, I was equipped with Titan and Smoky…one of the worst combos for catching gold boxes, but I would not give up hope. I used my final speed boost to accel my self toward the drop zone but...I was too late. A Dictator had already snatched the gold right in front of me. Damn Gangster_000 for blocking my path to the one thing I had been hunting for all day. I will keep searching….
