[Issue 31] Design Your Own Tank!

Have you ever wanted to make your own turret or hull? I bet a lot of you have. Well, this contest is for you! You'll need to create a new hull with a new turret mounted on it. Give nice names to both of them, and submit them here. I'll go over this in detail in the following sections.

How to make your submission

First of all, think of a cool design for a hull. This shouldn't be too hard, but take your time if you need it. Once you're done, pick a name for it. You don't need to write a description or think of statistics, but you're welcome to do so if you want. Then, use the same process to invent a turret.

When you have your designs, figure out what kind of medium you want your submission to be on. Most of you are probably going to be using graphic software, but hand-drawn or sculpted art is perfectly fine. Choose whatever you're the best at.

Your drawing should show your turret mounted on your hull. If you can't do that for one reason or another, putting them separately (but in the same picture) is fine.

Once you finish your drawing, you should upload it to an image hosting site (I recommend imgur.com). If your drawing is physical, take a picture of it with a camera and then upload that picture. Then, make a post on this thread with your picture (if your image is big, use a spoiler). Feel free to change your submission at any time before the deadline.

Here's an example of a submission. Yes, I know it's not very good, but it demonstrates the format.

Rules

Let's go over some rules you should follow in this contest.

  • Don't submit anything inappropriate. If this happens, you'll be disqualified in addition to standard forum consequences.
  • Don't copy other people. If your submission is obviously copied from somebody else or from the game, your submission will not win anything. If you copy something from somewhere else and then make a few minor changes, it'll still count as plagiarism. I will check them thoroughly. Plagiarism doesn't get you anywhere, folks.
  • The deadline is February 26. The thread will be locked afterwards, so finalize your submission before then.

Prizes

1st place gets 30,000 crystals.

2nd place gets 20,000 crystals.

3rd place gets 10,000 crystals.

In addition, consolation prizes of 5,000 crystals each may be given to those who don't reach the top 3 if your entry is especially good.

Notes

  • Feel free to color your submissions however you want. I used gray in the example, but you can use any color for the "paint".
  • Don't worry too much if your drawing skills aren't very good. I'm mostly looking for design here, but drawing it well will still help your chances of winning.
  • You don't have to draw different modifications of your hull or turret.

That's about it. If you want to participate, get in touch with your inner engineer and start drawing!

P.S: The tank I drew in the title picture also doubles as an optical paradox. Look at it long enough and it'll appear to switch perspectives. Have fun! > :D

I lack an ability to produce any form of appreciable art

(Should it prove confusing, do know that the hull is the Arowana (which I misspelled in a fit of lunacy), and the turret is the Aegis (changed my mind after scanning the page, haha).)

Geyser - This is a short/mid-range turret. It sprays a very powerful stream of water at it's opponents, thus earning it the name, Geyser.

Water doesn't damage tanks, you say? Well, because of the manually added energy to it's ammunition, Geyser affects it's opponent with impact force, and damage. This turret is suitable with all hulls, but is most commonly suited with medium hulls, especially Starwing.

Just keep in mind, Geyser's powerful jet of energized liquid will have to reload!

Starwing - This medium-sized hull is loved by many, especially... guinea pigs...

Starwing is very unique in that it's front side has many, many plates of armor, while it's back side has very few plates of armor. Because of this, you will want to keep the back side of the Starwing protected, while taking advantage of its robust front side. When used correctly, Starwing can be a very, very tactical hull!

It's original name was "Крыло Ангела", which means "Wing of the Angel". It later developed it's current and most beloved name, Starwing.

Starwing is suitable with all turrets, but many love the appearance and effectiveness of this hull mounted with Geyser.

P.S. I know this doesn't look like a tank at all, but, remember, thekillerpenguin said, "I'm mostly looking for design here".

That's my excuse. :P
