This is the whole idea behind XP XT experiment.

We do want to give players the ability to change the looks of the tank, we just not sure is it worth it or not. And nobody really knows how much players are ready to spend on the looks.

I am ready, and I think even the players who are not generally "Buyers" would entertain the thought of custom tanks.

If my already fully upgraded M4 Viking had some different looks I could try I would be more than willing to spend $50....

If you don't think I am correct, ask the people @ Riot, League Of Legends does this with "Skins", which give no advantage.

Revenue Hazel, Revenue...

Its out there, you just need to open the door.

Making a premuim pass would just make the game very unbalanced, we already spend real money for crystals, whats the point, thats why tanki is unique from the other games that require one, because everyone has a similiar advantage, please don't introduce this

Read Hazel-rah's posts on the first pages of the topic. A premium account doesn't have to give access to super OP items that wreck all the normal players. It can just have harmless visual bonus features so that the buyer can show off the fact that they have a premium account and/or it can have bonuses that help the player get through the game faster without ruining the gameplay for normal players.

donot introduce this update

if its OP then we r done for

and if is UP then the buyers r done for

:P

It won't be OP because it won't give players access to exclusive powerful weapons. The premium account options will only make the game easier for the user, but won't affect anyone else.

You think buying something that does not give you any advantage on battlefield is worthless? Don't buy it then. Let others decide for themselves.

Yea, customized looks would be super cool... Just don't make non-buyers have to pay for it

That is the basis of this “Crossed Purposes” debate, isn’t it.

There are two dynamics in TO:

What takes place on the Battlefield, within a Game Round;

And what takes place within the Ranking System, outside of Game Rounds.

I am not the least bit interested in rolling into any Game Round like “Godmode_On”: that would get old very fast, regardless of how much I might have paid for the privilege.

At the same time, I don’t want to be languishing in an M0 hull, with a small selection of weak turrets, because I haven’t got the same amount of free time to devote to playing TO as other players.

Point being: I’m not looking for any In-Game-Round advantage; I’m looking for a mechanism I can pay for that will advance me up through the ranks faster, giving me access to better toys to play with.

As I go up through the ranks in an accelerated mode and get my hands on those new toys, I will always be playing with others who have the same grade of toy. So no In-Game advantage there.

And as and when I hit the dizzy heights of Generalissimo, I can only then have the same toys as everyone else, so it will be a level playing field. Except for the fact that I won’t have the same degree of actual game-playing experience as those who worked their way to the top without a “Premium Pass”… So I won’t have any advantage there either… Likely as not, my limited experience will be a *DISADVANTAGE*; but I pays my money and I takes my choice...

Way things are at the moment, the method I use to accelerate my rise through the ranks is to purchase huge quantities of supplies, which I then use relentlessly in-Game; and fully MU my M0, M1 and M2 kit. Both are actions that unbalance the Game-Rounds I am in, in my favour, and to the frustration of many others.

A “Premium Pass” that *JUST* accelerates my progress through the ranks, *WITHOUT* giving me any explicit In-Game advantage, *HAS* to be an effective solution.

Really can’t see why this proposition is so contentious.

How can we certain you won't make it overpowered, the minority that can afford to buy it would kick the majority out, and you would lose potential would be buyers

One doubt - on one  hand there is a talk of premium accounts which will help buyers to rank up faster in the game which will not really give them an advantage on the battlefield,

But on the other hand XT combos are introduced which are allowed in XP format, which DO provide an edge in XP.

Also, Hazel himself mentioned in a  post that there could be XT tanks in the future with parameters different from normal railgun and hornet. (e.g. faster reload and lesser damage) These XT combos, if allowed in XP format battles will most certainly give a huge upper hand to buyers ruining the very purpose for which format battles were introduced for.

Why the doublespeak?

XT got nothing to do with Premium Account. PA is leveling booster, while XT is a different tank/weapon.

This will never be like "Oh you bought our Premium pass? Well then get this new fancy hornet XT and wreck those noobs in XP!".

And what I was talking about future possible XT tanks was about modifications of existing parameters. Whether they could be allowed to PRO or not is whole different question.

Besides, we are not looking forward to add something like viking thunder XT for rent, this is pointless. As I mentioned above, current XT tank is an experiment to evaluate possible interest of custom designed tanks. Current situation of XT allowed to XP battles is an exception due to temporal nature of XT tank. Fromat battles are planned to be the way player want them to be. Modified (more powerfull or not) tanks should not be allowed to format battle if they will ever be allowed to the game.

Good to know that we have similar opinions. I really hope you have the authority to convince the rest of the developers' team that the Premium account must not give an advantage in battles...

This has got to be the worse suggestion in the world.  Just keep it simple. No premium passes. Don't make shortcuts to this game as this can ruin the game awfully espically the fun in playing. So basically polarbear is trying to make a shortcut to this game with this "Premium Pass". Bro, just stick with Pro Pass instead.

My opinion:

This idea is an :excl:

OK for premium account option if the only advantage it gives is faster progress through the game. If it gives an advantage in battle, than no.

On the same subject, I'd like to say that Tanki is doing a great job making the game fair for everyone, buyers and non-buyers alike.
