New Supply: Flashbang Mine

@deadtoyou.....When you made this suggestion, did you put yourself in the pursuing tank? Suppose this was implemented into the game. You are pursuing an enemy flag bearer and he detonates a flashbang. Is this something you would be happy with or curse the day you suggested it?

 

Personally, I'm against it. I don't like the idea of being blinded, even partially, when playing this type of game. I know it's just a couple of seconds, but that would also blind me from seeing any other enemy and render me helpless to defend myself. It's just as bad as having a bad lag where your tank doesn't respond for a few seconds while being bombarded by the enemy. For 2 seconds, I would be out of touch with my environment and a sitting duck.

Basically a 6th supply. Your tank throws a flash bang in the direction the turret is facing. The aim is a bit like Magnum, where you hold down the "6" key (gold box key will be changed to "7" i guess) and the longer you hold it down, the farther your tank shoots it. 

 

Flashbangs deals no damage. But it blinds all targets by making their entire screen go white when they are flashbanged. 

 

Possible Targets: All enemies, yourself. You should be able to flashbang yourself to prevent this from being too OP and you need skill and caution when using it. You should NOT be able to flashbang teammates to prevent multing, and let's be honest, your teammate is almost never gonna know to look away because you just threw a flashbang. 

 

Flashbangs have limited range, no damage, however completely blinds all possible targets to make it balanced. 

 

I think this game needs a flashbang mechanic to make it less stale because too often it is too hard to attack a base full of defenders. This can easily be seen in most ASL and CTF modes where there are too many players defending and it is basically a stalemate. If you just throw one flashbang, you could potentially temporarily blind all defenders and have at least a chance to capture.

I mean this is more of an offensive throwable supply instead of a defensive mine. 

Whether it's throwable or defensive, it's still a flashbang. Besides that detail, the original post and your idea are basically identical.

This could be employed into a new inventory supply called flash bomb which will blind enemy tankers with white light. The bomb could be thrown like the rugby ball. This could even be an idea for alteration of wasp overdrive.

Or, this could be used in a hull's overdrive. Upon activation, enemies with in the radius will get blinded or maybe their cameras might glitch to show multiple, overlapping images which would confuse them. This could even be added to hopper overdrive instead of it's current stun so that it will blind and burn enemies.

It does sound interesting. I’d prefer it for Hopper OD tho. But blind and burn may seem too much...

I posted a similar idea years ago (2016) in an old topic called New Supply: Flashbang Mine.

Even made picture about it: the 4 second sequence (I choose blue color to not hurt the eyes)
