Just to let you know in case you want to be a commentator, you can't just clip and edit your voice recordings; it should be continuous, as when you commentate live there is no chance of you doing a retake

My parents talked to me about jobs to have during college and they said something along the lines of radio, narrator or something that involved speaking, so this might be good on a resume ;) .  So I guess I can talk to my parents about being a commentator, they're very protective of me, especially on the internet, in a good way though.

I am pretty sure they won't mind it at all if you know how to put it out to them, mentioning that this is actually an opportunity to try something you could potentially be doing later on in life if you are as good as they say you are :)

 

The one annoying thing is that the video has no audio, so I can't hear when a flag is captured, so on the first go around I missed a capture.

I know, its a bit distracting, but hey, you do get to see the clip beforehand and prepare your speech, which is something live commentators cannot do at all.  

 

Oh and speaking of this, please guys don't over prepare your commentating and narrate it through the video, it will sound dull and we'll instantly recognise it.  Try to be spontaneous as much as you can ;)

 

Yeah right maybe they were sleeping? You guys couldn't get it organized for the season finale of the SL? Seriously?? Not to mention it was not even notified ( apart from a single post in the news section of the EN starladder page) neither streamed in the EN page. How do you expect to gain the eye of millions of gamers worldwide if the finals are only streamed in Russian?

 

No offense intended. But it's really getting on my nerves the way the EN community is treated at starladder.

I do share your dissatisfaction about the matter :(  If you wanna know the commentators and streamers were ready for that, but unfortunately StarLadder weren't able to provide us with the live pictures of those battles due to problems with the equipment required for that.

Thank god someone is finally agreeing with me on this. ( vuv u damn_slow :D ). It's really hard to convince most of the mods about these kind of problems that occur at starladder since they look at such matters from a one sided point of view. (Maybe this has something to do with their job being intact? )

Furthermore I have many more "unfair" situations that EN clans had to face due to the fact that starladder being operated in Russian. More on that in this link http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=233088&do=findComment&comment=4101497

 

I tried many things

 

1) Tried contacting starladdr referees.... They simply answered it's against rules to talk/chat with players unless they are clan leaders.

 

2) Tried contacting starladder help/administration through an email address given to me by a starladder referee.....was simply ignored.

 

3) Tried contacting help@tankionline.......didn't get a reply to this date.

 

4) Tried posting at forum and gain the attention of fellow tankers.... Didn't get enough support.( Though I have many agreeing with me on this matter)

 

5) Tried getting an article /interview done on this by tanki reporter staff......Answered NO because it might harm the "good" image of tanki.

 

Thanks yet again on at least agreeing with me since it really means a lot.

If you have a microphone, record your voice

I suggest when you are watching the video, record yourself commenting and just keep trying till you get it right.

To record sound using a mic, go to Start, type in recorder and enter. The recorder will pop up, make sure your mic is plugged in, and start.

If you have a laptop, you should already have a built in mic. So no need to have one.

What do you mean? The YouTube video maximum quality is already HD, is that what you mean?

Or do you mean if it's possible to get/download the video in HD?

If yes, if you have chrome browser, go to webstore, search for "youtube video downloader" and go to the one that says "Video Downloader professional" then go to the site and use the extension to download the one that says "HD" or "720p"

If you win, you get a chance to become a commentator. If you win and accept this position you will probably become a candidate. Once you become a full commentator you might get spectator, and if given it will be only when you need it.

If you wish to become a commentator I would recommend getting a microphone, as in-built mics are generally really bad.

 

How do you download the video?

You can either use a Youtube-MP3 converting site or you can record the gameplay with a screen recorder such as Bandicam.
