To the top 3, I would say the offer of the position is invaluable. Noting compared to the loads of crystals. I hope you accept the position and work hard to blossom into awesome commentators. Will be watching out for you this star series!

with all the respect tanki .... this is not fair guys look the guy that took the third place thought that the batle has already started since the first second .... he obviodly has a kid voice now i am totally dissapointed ... if you are wondering why then yo can compare his video with mine .... look at the intro that i made and everything .... guys i love tanki online but this is the most unfair thing ever can yo please explane to me how is this even possible .... i am extremly dissapointed tanki this is my video

Disappointed.  

Extremely poor choices for winners, barely any guidelines set, no tolerance for creativity, and extremely poor judging.

I put heart and soul into this, and even if I didn't win or even get the slightest of a mention for recording and attempting so many time, there were far better entries (like zaynbad's, mcmonkey's) than the ones you chose for top 3.

 

People say it's only one contest, don't take it too seriously.  Well, it's one thing to lose, it's another thing to watch other good choices and lose and poor choices win.

Congratulations winners! Disappointed, but the first place was a great entry and deserving winner. Surprised about the Third place, considering he did seem not to know how the battle began at 10 minutes which was pretty amateur. Will be interesting to see how he does in the DJ Team...

Having been involved in the judging for this, I dissented in terms of the views on that 3rd place entry (as I personally thought there were gaps in terms of eSports and tactical knowledge), but both Damn_Slow and GeneralVeers rated it highly. A lot of it comes down to personal opinion - however, it was agreed by all that his action commentary was pretty meritable nonetheless. I recognise that it's the overall view of the experienced judging panel which holds the most weight, not just the popular view or the view of one judge. That's what makes the judging fair.

 

I can assure you that there was a LOT of effort put into judging, involving hours of watching the videos, assessing and analysing their different strengths and weaknesses, and finally determining a rating alongside justified comments from each judge for each entry.

 

Most entrants including those who didn't win prizes put a considerable amount of effort into their entries, don't think that you're the only one. The competition was very strong, and so there were definitely were some good entries which narrowly missed out on a prize. However, ALL of the decisions made were justified with ratings and comments from each of us, as I said. 

 

Of course, everyone here is entitled to comment with their own opinions, and the feedback of players should be taken into account - but if you do, be mature and reasonable rather than pushing forward your own agenda as to why you should have won (zaynbad). I have a feeling that the judging would only be considered good by some if they won the contest, and that's a real shame, because it misses the whole point of the competition.

 

Finally, congratulations to the winners, and well done to all entrants for entertaining us with some really high quality stuff ^_^

Cant say that I am not dissapointed that I didn't win , I swear Peace's entry was great. Anyway congo to all of em winners. Wow third and second place better choose what they want to do wid all of em crys xD

Regardless of whether I had won or not as what seemed to be popular opinion, there were many clear, passionate, and articulated entries that failed to win.

 

There was next to no tactical insight in the top three videos and a lack of drive, and for your experience and time spent, I would have thought you would choose better.

 

If you would like to not cause dissent next time, I would suggest making more clear what you want or providing a more in depth competition.  Apparently something like my humor and slight informality was trodden upon, which I understand.  But the fact that I was informal  in an 11 minute entry doesn't make me a worse commentator than 1 2 or 3, especially when I gave you two videos and sought your advice and help in the style I should go for, and was turned down because "it's unfair to help before deadline".

 

This is not appropriate if you truly choose to pick the best commentator.

 

This is especially true when you say that you have had experience, but so have had many of us, especially myself, which was completely neglected.

The awkward thing is-that both DS and GV are ....well...not very good commentators and they judged the commentary.

 

I have never ever ever ever had anything remotely satisfactory in terms of commentary.

A lot of you are feeling disappointed and are probably feeling pretty dejected right now. I can totally relate to that as I have experienced it a few times already. I know how emotions can get the better of you. Just a word of caution, some things we say might actually offend others, like I found out in the aftermath of the Supplies Tutorial, whether intentionally or not, so feel free to express your opinions but refrain from potentially harmful comments :) I'm still sorry to Goldie for not considering the negative connotations and potential pernicious repercussions of my rant after the results.

 

Take it from me, watch what u say, and consider the effects of what you say on others. Try harder next contest and if you put in enough effort next time, u might just prevail :)

 

"There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going" It will take time and effort to achieve what you want, but that only makes your eventual success all the more sweeter. Don't lose faith in yourself and may this guide you in life's numerous challenges as well :)

Some people may not be able to do the stream, as it depends on the time they have available and whether they will be distracted by background noises etc. If no one can commentate from the winners, they might ask some other good entries to become a commentator instead - they clearly need some more commentators.

Yes, and I've proven it before.  I stream Tanki.

This isn't about me though, I don't want to appear as though I'm angry I didn't win.

If some other entries by others that were superior had won (particularly in regards to 2nd and 3rd place), I would not be here complaining.

Because those two were absurd.  They had no insight whatsoever.  I fail to understand how does listing a bunch of kills and flag captures merit a winning place, and other entries which mentioned positions, supply control, etc not win.
