Hi Tony, unfortunately, you are missing the mark here. They are not putting down your entry solely because of the age factor. One of their main reasons for doing so is their argument that you have insufficient knowledge about star ladder to properly commentate on such a high stakes battle, not to mention win 3rd place. NOTE this doesn't mean I condone their slamming of you in public forums or agree with their points. I am merely explaining the basis of their argument, and it certainly isn't just the age factor.

Congratulations on winning, you are not obliged to comment on those flaming you, enjoy your crystals and be happy :)

Ps: It's not solely about sportsmanship either.

Also, in SLTV matches, matches are created 13 minutes long, 3 minutes to prepare, and the battle only starts at the 10 min mark. Not sure if this is the latest information though.

I was more than impressed when this contest was announced that finally the EN community is going to get some more noteworthy commentators. But with some of the winners that were announced, meh...... I hope this contest never should have taken part. I have once been a commentator in my real life of a gaming contest held in my country and I do indeed believe that with my experience that in order to become a successful commentator on games one needs to have a firm grasp of the game and it's regular strategies , rules and regulations and tactical assets being used in it. If you have been looking for a commentator who can commentate the "general matter" well, then well done! You have made a great choice! But aren't you looking for a gaming commentator for God's sake?.......I do hope that the judges won't keep making such controversial selections in the upcoming contests or else you're just going to lose all those applicants who are willingly applying to help the community as commentators.

Thank you all for your feedback.  It was an interesting contest, and we're happy to have had so much interest in it.  We're sorry about the many confusions and controversies there had been around it due to failure in communicating simple things right from the start
