After rewatching some... even some of the consolation prizes were so poor quality I couldn't understand what they were saying.  I didn't even get consolation.

My butthurt is unreal right now.

 

This is what should have happened (omitting my own entry because I'm biased)

 

1. MarineMan2

2. Peacekeeper

3. Fen Harel and hogree

^^^ all three interchangeable based upon personal opinion

 

 

With consolation to:

mcmonkey, Tank Craze, zaynbad, Titanium Falcon, Darthvaderjohn GTR.

 

Not a single other person should have been even close to getting any prizes or recognized in any way whatsoever.

 

Absolutely shocking that you didn't even recognize marine man.  I'm actually meeting people literally everywhere who are laughing their heads off at the final results.

 

Again congrats to the winners and good luck.

Also, DuckHonk was praised for his commentary, which is ok, it was good. But he was given a consolation prize for instant replays This is CLEARLY against the rule of not editing the video. Yet he is being praised for this... Hello???

First lets get this one out of the way.  

 

No, he didn't get a consolation prize as the others did.  Instead he got a "special mention" for something which, despite never meant to be a serious competing entry, did a great job at showing how eSporting is different than just plain random casual playing.  And that's a cause which is very dear to all of us who had been judging, we respect that and we'd love to encourage that.  We really don't mind seeing creative people break some contest rule to provide some great work that serve a good cause for the community :)

Omg who the heck judged this competition?? Some of the best people were not even mentioned and some of the worst entries got prizes! I did not compete in this competition but I think it is very obvious to most people that this competition should be re-judged.

1. This contest judging was as failed as the postcard contest was

2. Number 1

3. Number 2

4. More helpful if you took more time to judge the entries.

5. Give recognition to people who deserve it.

6. You will be spammed as much as you got spammed in the postcard contest

7. Make sure you realize the potential of some of these players

8. Some entries were so poor, I don't even know how to explain.

9. Your judging

Most of the time, the losers complain because they lost, whether it was fair or not. However, take a look at entries from me, Peace-Keeper-99 or arabiannoble and tell me if they were better than 3rd place. You may find yourself quite puzzled afterwards

To clarify:  it was clear all along that winners get a CHANCE to be on the commentator team.  It was never about guaranteeing them any spot or give them tenure or something.  So all you out there having a heart attack about warrant officers or other people clearly ignorant of basic eSports things joining the staff team can relax.  Not gonna happen !

So if you didn't get a message asking you if you wanted to be on the commentator team then you did not make the cut, am I correct?

You will probably have to wait a while before (and if) you get a message. They still have to consider your time flexibility, knowledge, improvisational ability and overall commentating ability, not just your skill in that one video.

 

The TO commentators have a big job to do in representing the staff.

I'm serious but the winners and consolations were just... unbelievable, I'm saying this in a bad way... most of them were like just mumbling and for like 1 min they were just looking at the battle and not talking... Ok the judges made there choices but they were more precise people talking about the battle like MarineMan2 and Arabiannoble! Its like they were not even noticed! Its honestly Annoying me seeing this people who took soooo long on their videos and got nothing... not even consolation! They didnt mumble, they were so detailed when they were commentating the battle! saying stuff about offensive and defensive strategys those to amazing teams were using! The battle was unbelievable, especially with there fantastic commentary it made the battle so much intence and exxciting just how these people talked its like they were amazing and probaly took several times to get the video they wanted. I say some of the people who won werent half bad! but its so disapointing seeing these 2 amazing people loose and its not just me thinking they should win! Theres many others! just wait till the spam gets real tanki online...

The only thing running out the window is you !  oh and zayn as well, and perhaps some more.  So chill guys !!!  Relax.  As already stated by goldrock and pk99 this is just a contest, a tanki contest like all other tanki contest.  Its not a selection of the next cybersport commentator.  Its a contest open to all tankmen of the community (and beyond that too it seems - al chantino  :huh: )  and we have to remain fair to these persons as well, who btw, happens to be the vast, huge majority in case you guys didn't notice  :ph34r:

 

But here's good news for you people of the minority who are really interested into eSports + starladder + commentating.  You are all invited to apply for the job if you really want it, there's places up for grabs at the moment btw, and even if you didn't win any prizes in this contest you will still have your full chances of getting the job depending on the quality of your application you submit over there.

1st off: you did great and congratulations.

 

Sadly no, for the real job there's way more things that come into play, 1 of them being age and I don't think you meet them yet.  But don't let that put you down, if you enjoyed commentating, there's lots of other place where you can shine.  There are quite a few people making interesting videos all around and looking for people to commentate on them, so if you like that, go for it ;)

If you love commentating alot, than make videos on youtube and commentate on your battles :)

Secondly, you can clearly tell they watched the videos as lower ranks actually won instead of the normal generalissimo's win.... Also this is the english community so your English should be good okus the mic plays a factor!

Also i entered and i am not complaining that i didn't win...

Sportsmanship is something that players here still haven't learned apprently
