As for arabianoble and DuckHonk, I would suggest that's a bad precedent. Changing your opinion now on that only leaves your decision for the top three, already dubious, to be more fiercely contended.

He isn't changing his opinion about my entry, calm down.  I lost out by 0.5 points, he just wants to make the limit less strict.

I won't take the cry anyways.

^ absolutely not !  we're not changing opinions on who we feel should be winners or not.  we're just changing rigidity of our minimum threshold for getting a consolation prize and making it a little more flexible after realising it was unfair from us to make it that rigid in the 1st place.

Man that's just not cool, you're just hating on that kid and these good people now.  They didn't steal anything from you, and they too put a lot of efforts and love into it.  So don't be that harsh on them bro.  

 

Also already commented on how the entries were judged above, and no !  We aren't the kind who'd disqualify someone on the basis of him being a young lad, or discriminate by virtue of their lower in-game rank or their funny HAHA which you find annoying or their talking pace being too fast for you to understand.

 

Besides we too can tell similar things about your video, which might hurt you actually, and that won't be nice at all.  So please be considerate in your criticism about these other chaps

Well you're right on that and its a failure on our part to not have made that clearer since the start.  Apologies.  The contest was not meant to be dedicated to recruit for the cybersport staff team, just a small even to let our players have some fun and express themselves in a commentator situation, with a possibility of an invitation for those who shined to join the official team, provided they qualified for it.

 

Again apologies to all of you who interpreted it the other way due to our miscommunication.

ok . all i concluded from the past 2-3 contests are that those

1.who deserved did not win ..... and those who did win , did not deserve at all( not all but atleast some of them for sure)

2.last times always staff won ...this time it would have been obvious if they win it again...so they atleast got consolation prize ( in mmy opinion every staff is damn creative and they got talent in all the contests ...making our lives diificult :P )

3.i havec never applied for any contest as they are just not worth the time .. instead of wasting like 2-3 making the post card or thinking and planning about this contest ( atleast 1 day) i can easily make crystals upto the consolation prize .

anyways all the best for future contest... devs and players

I did not say winners aren't qualified for the job, nor did I say they do.  I simply let the tony guy know that he personally does not for he is too young and we have a limit on minimum age we can accept.  These kind of things will be reflected once we update the info about commentators and their application form, please bear with us.

1.  I got nothing to do with the previous contest, + funnily enough not as much to do with this one as you guys might think either.

 

3.  Well you should do some, not for the crystals, but for the good fun :)  I myself done a few in the past, only managed to get 2nd place in that one, and I remember back then quite a few of my friends and forumers were upset about the winner feeling he shouldn't have won for bla bla reasons.  All I know and keep from that is it was good fun with great people I really enjoyed playing with and who are still regularly in contact with us 1 way or another even after some of them left the game.   NO CRYSTAL PRIZES CAN BEAT THAT !!!

 

2.  I hate the so called former "members of staff" for coining that word and making it stick !!! :angry:   These guys you mention above are not staff !!!!  They're like you.  No different.  Only thing is they choose to VOLUNTEER to help the community in various aspects.  And that's why they're called Helpers of the project, not staff.   

 

And for that they get a weird looking avatar on the forum to help them in their volunteering, which btw is hideous.  I mean look at mine !! That thing doesn't even have a face !!!!!! :mellow:  Other than that all they get is a bunch of hate from some people for helping them very people out.  That's all they get.  There is no reason for these lovely people to not have very equal rights to take part in contests organised by tanki and win some.

its not the same sentence but the implication is the same.  You're judging the commentators for being bad, and we're equally judging you as well, and mate, unlike many other respectable chaps in here you really haven't shown anything or any level of anything that'd reach as near of causing an "hey we need to listen to this guy, there might be something worthy in his critics" effect in us, or any other members of staff, and quite a few of our large group of common friends on skype :)  So stop hurting yourself !

u get crystals , i know that . anyways next contest keep it exclusively for "general" group . like you from "ForumsAdministator" group should not be in the participants list itself. it looks like you guys keep winning becoz you are close the the staff members , even if you have won all by your skills . the general trend about every contest shows the top ranks are some "volunteers"

The awkward thing is-that both DS and GV are ....well...not very good commentators and they judged the commentary.

 

I have never ever ever ever had anything remotely satisfactory in terms of commentary.

in such contest i guess that the main target should be getting new commentators that will be loved by other tanki players in general because if tankers choose the winners then they would absolutely love watching him or her commentating on a live stream there for i suggest that if their will be a contest like this one again then i guess the entries should be anonymous and we shouldn't know which player made which entry and then the winners should be selected by normal tanki players by voting for their favorite entry based on its quality and not by who made it ... and i want to say that staff play a huge part in tanki and they make it a more easy and awesome game to play so i agree that they have equal opportunities in contests and i really hope that my suggestion will be taken under consideration because if it does then we will never have such conversations about how unfair the contest is since  the players of tanki are the one who voted for the winners based on their performances and not their names or who they are ... once again thank you for your time

The judging was just bad. (Except from the first winner).

 

 

a little 14 years old kid that didnt even know when was the battle started and he didnt talk about drop boxes and he used some very bad words to describe what was happening.

 

dude that kid didn't even know when the match has started ... so just tell us what made you choose that kid as a winner ... we all wanna know how you picked him and not someone who deserve it

3. (I must break my first rule from the top) OK first, you stated that I'm "little." I'm going into high school in 7 months. I'm not that "little." Second, I saw the clock running down at the top, so the battle DID start. Third, what very bad words? If you mean profanity I will watch that clip 5 times and I will not see any profanity.

4. OK so if the match didn't start when the clock starting winding down then exactly when did it start?

Notice the word in bold, underlined, red, etc. Sportsmanship. I lost a challenge this week for a contest in the Press. Didn't matter. There are lots of other challenges that anyone can win. But at the end of the day, this is a video game. It is for our entertainment.I would've been fine if I didn't win. Back to sportsmanship, if anyone here ever played soccer or basketball or really any sport you line up in the end and shake hands with the other team. You don't try to punch them in the face, you shake their hand and walk away, thinking about your next game.

Hi Tony, unfortunately, you are missing the mark here. They are not putting down your entry solely because of the age factor. One of their main reasons for doing so is their argument that you have insufficient knowledge about star ladder to properly commentate on such a high stakes battle, not to mention win 3rd place. NOTE this doesn't mean I condone their slamming of you in public forums or agree with their points. I am merely explaining the basis of their argument, and it certainly isn't just the age factor.

 

Congratulations on winning, you are not obliged to comment on those flaming you, enjoy your crystals and be happy :)

 

Ps: It's not solely about sportsmanship either.

Also, in SLTV matches, matches are created 13 minutes long, 3 minutes to prepare, and the battle only starts at the 10 min mark. Not sure if this is the latest information though.
